Rain to continue in state till Friday: IMD
Kochi: Rainfall activity will continue in the state till Friday, IMD has said. Yellow alert has been sounded for some districts on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The off-shore trough at mean sea level along south Gujarat-north Kerala coasts persists. Also, there had been a cyclonic circulation over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Andhra coast. Under the influence of above systems, widespread rainfall activity is forecast till Sunday.
Yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Kozhikode is on yellow alert on Friday. Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in the state till Friday. Squally weather with wind speed ranging from 35kmph to 45kmph gusting to 55kmph is likely to prevail along and off Kerala coast.
