HYDERABAD: A 50-year-old worker has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting his eight-year-old neighbour. The accused has been detained, said cops. He will be produced before court for further action.
Ibrahimpatnam police said on Saturday when the girl was at home, the accused went to her home and took her out saying that he would give her 10. He then took her to his home and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The girl raised an alarm and escaped from there and ran home, police added.
She informed her mother about the assault, following which the latter lodged a complaint with police. The girl was sent for medical examination and counselling. A case was booked against the accused under Section 65(2) of BNS and the POCSO Act.
