Forum condemns violence in West Bengal
Belagavi: The Unnati Trust of Belagavi staged a protest in the city on Saturday, condemning violence against women in West Bengal's Cooch Behar and Uttar Dinajpur, demanding strict action against the culprits.The activists who protested in Channamma Circle under the leadership of Unnati Trust, marched in a procession to the deputy commissioner's office and submitted a memorandum to the president of India and Union home minister through the district administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Laxmi V Mirje, a leader Unnati Trust of Belagavi said videos of women being publicly humiliated have gone viral. Cases of violence against women are on the rise in West Bengal. Women are not safe in West Bengal under Trina Mula Congress rule and law & order situation has completely deteriorated. These incidents are in violation of the Indian Constitution, she claimed. In West Bengal, a woman CM has not been able to stop the cases of violence against women. The central government should intervene and conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident, she demanded, adding that strict action should be taken against the culprits.
