Govt to buy land from forest dept, hand it over for road projects
Gurgaon: The minister of state for environment, forest, wildlife, and sports, Sanjay Singh, said on Friday that Haryana govt will now purchase land that comes in the alignment of road projects from the forest department and hand it over to the departments concerned for construction.
The move is expected to eliminate the need for obtaining an NOC from the forest department and prevent any hindrance and delay in road projects.
At present, around six road projects in Sohna are held up due to clearance from the forest department.
“This move will eliminate the need for obtaining an NOC from the forest department and prevent any hindrance in road construction,” said Singh while addressing public grievances at an open court held at Bhimbagh Palace in Sohna.
He also mentioned that the roads to be constructed in Sohna would include drainage systems on both sides for water disposal. Most complaints in the open court were about erratic power supply from the discom. Executive engineer of the discom, Vikas Yadav, assured citizens that all these issues would be resolved at the earliest.
When the Government Model Sanskriti School Management Committee and some shopkeepers complained about waterlogging, the minister directed municipal council officials to clean the drains and the rainwater harvesting system.
Residents of Khedla village requested the resumption of the Ballabhgarh-Gurgaon bus service. Singh assured that the bus service would resume on Saturday. tnn
