18-month-old touches exposed wire at Benaulim, loses her life
Colva: An 18-month-old Hansika Kumar lost her life at her family’s rented premises at Benaulim on Thursday when she came in contact with an exposed electrical extension board on the floor. Colva police said they received information from South Goa District Hospital about the accident. During the inquiry, it was learnt that the family was from Jharkhand.
It was also noticed that an extension board was lying exposed without a rear cover and was connected to the main distribution box.

The electricity department has disconnected the power supply to the house.
Both the parents were at home preparing lunch, while the 3-year-old son and the deceased were playing at home. Hearing the child scream, they switched off the supply to the extension board and rushed with the child to the district hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Police said that after completion of the formalities, the body was handed over to the parents.
Police informed that the house is partitioned into three rooms and rented out to eight daily wage labourers a couple of months back.
