Woman held for killing husband

Chennai: Two months after a woman claimed her husband had died naturally in Avadi, police arrested her on Monday for killing him. The accused, Leemarosemary, 36, confessed to murdering her husband, A Velankannidas, a 38-year-old naik living in Avadi Army quarters.
Velankannidas was an alcoholic and frequently abused his wife and in-laws. On May 10, Leemarosemary reported that her husband had fainted after drinking and took him to the military hospital in Avadi.The armyman was pronounced dead on arrival. After the viscera test showed that Velankannidas had been murdered, the woman admitted that she had strangulated him to death. tnn
