Unions reach Jal West, campaign against AAP
Jalandhar: Hundreds of workers belonging to various unions of contractual employees in Punjab govt descended on Jalandhar West constituency on Saturday. Babu Jagjivan Ram Chowk remained choked as protesters gathered there for a few hours.
The protesting unions included Communnity Health Officers Association, All Punjab Contract Instructors Union, Government Drug Re-addiction Rehabilitation Employees Union, Multipurpose Health Employees Union, and Safai Sewaks.

Members of All Punjab Anganwari Employees Union did a door-to-door campaign against the state govt in the streets of the constituency and distributed pamphlets.
The common refrain of all protesters was that before 2022 assembly elections, promises were made to them but now their issues were not being resolved.
During the byelection, scheduled to be held on July 10, different unions and organisations have been converging on Jalandhar for holding protests in support of their demands and against the government.
