Bathinda: The last few days of moderate to heavy showers have taken the north Indian rainfall in the states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh to a near-normal range (-19 to +19%) from the largely deficient figure of 60 to 99% shortfall. Between June 1 and 8.30am on July 6, Punjab has recorded 12% deficient rainfall, of 68.3 millimetres rainfall against a normal of 77.4mm.
Haryana received 18% deficient rainfall of 61.3mm rain against a normal of 74.5mm. Himachal Pradesh received 9% deficient rainfall of 123.2mm against a normal of 136.1mm. However, in the last 24 hours, Punjab recorded 228% excess rainfall of 12.1mm against a normal of 3.7mm. tnn
