Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court here has issued open-dated non-bailable arrest warrants against Canada-based gangster Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, and his aide Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, alias Goldi Rajpura, in connection with Sector 5 firing case. The next hearing in the case is on July 9.
The court also granted NIA its request to produce three other accused in the case before the court, directing Modern Jail superintendent to produce them at 2 pm.
The prosecution had appealed to the court for the issuance of production warrants (for seeking police custody) of accused Gurwinder Singh, alias Laddy; Kashi Singh, alias Harry, and Gagandeep Singh, alias Goldy.
On January 19, associates of Goldy Brar had allegedly fired at the house of a businessman in Sector 5, with some bullets hitting his parked car.
It is alleged that he had received an extortion call of Rs 2 crore from the gangster which he ignored. As a result, the bullets were fired to scare him.
The police registered a case in this regard and have till date arrested eight accused. tnn
