Cancel parole of Bhana: EC
Chandigarh: The Election Commission (EC) on Monday directed cancellation of the parole of gangster Daljit Singh Bhana till the process for the Jalandhar (West) assembly constituency byelection is over. Congress as well as BJP had filed complaints with the EC to cancel Bhana’s parole claiming the gangster has been released on parole by ruling AAP in violation of the Model Code of Conduct to help them for the July 10 bypoll.
Congress and BJP had claimed that Bhana had been campaigning for AAP by threatening voters. Punjab CEO informed the Jalandhar DC about the EC instructions.
