Chandigarh/Rohtak: The three-year-old girl, who was battling for life for around one week at PGIMS, Rohtak, because of injuries suffered due to gang rape, succumbed on Monday.
Dr Pushpa Daiya, senior professor, department of obstetrics and gynaecology, PGIMS, Rohtak, confirmed that the minor breathed her last. Police said that the post-mortem would be conducted on Tuesday.
Cops have already arrested the accused in Fatehabad district.
The girl had suffered massive genital injuries, including in her rectum and lower intestinal tract. According to doctors, who had to perform her surgery on July 2, there was brutal penetration tearing off her genitals and rectum and the doctors had to create an artificial passage through her intestine so that faeces could leave the body. When she was brought to PGIMS Rohtak on July 1, she was bleeding all over and was having breathing problems and brain injuries.
Apart from injuries on her genitals, her rectum was torn off, jaws broken and ribs fractured. After the operation, she was admitted to the ICU and was on a ventilator for the past few days. TNN
