Bhopal: While
Madhya Pradesh overall has received 1%, less
rainfall than the average rainfall state receives between June 1 and July 8, in the same period Bhopal has received almost 76% of the total rainfall that it cumulatively receives in June and July months.
Bhopal, as per official figures, has received 304.3 mm rainfall between June 1 and July 8; while normally in the months of June and July Bhopal gets 500.5 mm rainfall , but now it is just July 8, and more than 389 mm rainfall has been recorded in Bhopal.
However if overall rainfall in Madhya Pradesh between June 1 and July 8 is seen, then normally state gets 202.5 mm rainfall in this period, but so far overall rainfall recorded in state has been only 200.5 mm, which is 1 percent less than the average rainfall.
Met officials have said that the sky is to remain mostly cloudy in the state capital in next 24 hours and there could be medium to heavy rainfall, as yellow alert has been issued for Bhopal.
There was a drop in day temperature at state capital on Monday as rain lashed the city in the afternoon hours. Maximum temperature recorded in city on Monday was 30.5 degree Celsius which is 3 degree less than 33.4 degree Celsius maximum temperature recorded on Sunday.
If rainfall received so far in the city is around 40% above the normal rainfall it receives between June 1 and July 8. Till now 389 mm rainfall has been recorded, which is 159 mm more than the normal rainfall it gets during this period, say met sources.
