Bengaluru: Sri Charani Tumu of Global Swim Centre set a new meet record in the 800m freestyle in the Girls 1-B category in the NRJ State sub-junior and junior swimming championships at the Basvanagudi Aquatic Centre here on Monday. Tumu set the new mark of nine minutes, 19.8 seconds after beating the challenge from Meenakshi Menon of BAC, who came a distant second in 9:59.24 on the fourth day of the meet.
