Pendant la Saison de la Fierté au Canada, prenez un moment pour découvrir Dario, un bénévole canadien qui vit actuellement à Toronto. Il y a près de 30 ans, un groupe de personnes compatissantes l’a aidé à échapper à la persécution en Bosnie parce qu’il était de la communauté LGBTQI+ en le parrainant pour qu’il vienne au Canada. Leur gentillesse a changé sa vie à jamais, et il s’efforce aujourd’hui de donner au suivant. Il a joint un groupe de parrainage privé avec son partenaire, Rodney. Le groupe travaille en étroite collaboration avec le personnel de Rainbow Railroad pour accueillir un réfugié de LGBTQI+ à la recherche d’une vie meilleure au Canada, tout comme Dario a été accueilli il y a tant d’années. Le Canada est fier de travailler avec des organisations comme Rainbow Railroad, qui réinstalle des réfugiés de la communauté LGBTQI+ au moyen du parrainage privé depuis près de 10 ans. During Pride Season in Canada, take a moment to learn about Dario, a Canadian volunteer currently living in Toronto. Almost 30 years ago, a compassionate group of people helped him escape persecution in Bosnia for being a LGBTQI+ individual by sponsoring him to come to Canada. Their kindness changed his life forever, and he is now paying it forward. He joined a private sponsorship group along with his partner, Rodney. The group is working closely with Rainbow Railroad staff to welcome a LGBTQI+ refugee in search of a better life here in Canada, just as Dario was welcomed so many years ago. Canada is proud to work with organizations like Rainbow Railroad, which has been resettling LGBTQI+ refugees through private sponsorship for almost a decade.
