What do I need to apply for a disability parking placard? (Choose tab)

Only renewals and replacements can be completed online. To renew or replace your permanent disability parking placard or to replace your temporary disability parking placard, please visit the renew section.

To apply by mail for a permanent or temporary disability parking placard:

  • Download and complete a Disability Parking Placard Application (BFS-108).
  • Have a licensed medical professional complete and sign the appropriate sections of the application.
  • Mail the application to:

  • Have a licensed medical professional complete and sign the appropriate sections of the application.
  • Bring the application to one of our offices.

What do I need to renew a disability parking placard? (Choose tab)

To renew or replace your permanent disability parking placard or to replace a temporary disability parking placard online using Quick Renewal/Replace, you will need your:

  • Disability placard number
  • Disability placard expiration date
  • Email address

After completing a renewal or replacement, a placard will be mailed to your registered address as listed on your Michigan driver’s license or ID.

Please visit Online Services and log in to your Secretary of State account, or create a new account, to complete the following transactions:

  • Update the address on your Michigan driver’s license or ID
  • Add a mailing address
  • Renew multiple placards

To renew a permanent disability parking placard by mail, submit a written request including your:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Daytime telephone number
  • Expiring disability placard number
