We just returned from a lovely stay at Ogunquit River Inn. The service was excellent. We were appreciative of responsiveness to special requests. We asked to change rooms after the first night and we were accommodated at no extra cost. (Thank you again!) We stayed in room 341 which was near the pool and also had a view of the river and sea; it was beautiful and pleasantly breezy. The dining hall / clubhouse, equipped with highchairs, microwave, water, etc., was a big plus for us as well as we had two small children and took many of our meals there with simple food we brought. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet there for $13/person, but is open for guests to use during other times of the day when there is no meal service. The pool area was very well-maintained and clean, and we appreciated the abundance of pool towels on-site.
Beach access was a 15-min walk for us (to Footbridge Beach), and we were somewhat plagued with mosquitoes in our initial ground-floor room (113). The mosquito problem reduced quite a bit by relocating to the fourth floor and enjoying the breeze on the deck. No elevator at the hotel, so floor level might be important to consider if one wants/needs to avoid stairs.
