- NHjoSaco, ME12,476 contributionsHere's a photo of Wells Beach at the start of Memorial Day Weekend. The weather was still cool (70s) and the water was freezing, but the seafood shack was open and there was a lot of beach to walk as the tide was going out.Written May 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathy HPlymouth, NH8 contributionsI love walking here year round. It is peaceful and everyone greats each other with a smile. Good free and healthy entertainment.Written December 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Russell WMaine2,647 contributionsThis beach is big. Plenty of sand, plenty of room. It's a great place to walk at any time of the year. There are assorted places to park. Being the off-season, we got one of two spaces in a tiny lot adjacent to the beach, but larger lots are nearby. Scenic views and plenty of ocean for your sea activities, and plenty of sand for your beach activities.Written January 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Caitlyn M2 contributionsBeautiful trails and scenery! Definitely worth the stop if you have time. Our toddler loved walking around and the trails are not paved but mostly stroller-friendly.Written May 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,647 contributionsAn unusually warm February day brought us to the beach, along with many others. My wife and I had a very pleasant long walk, but property owners post privacy signs. You may want to go to connecting North Beach if you want to "loiter." Parking across the street was free today, in February.Written February 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BamTggEast Hampton, CT673 contributionsChase Farms is our 'go to' place when in Wells.
Who can ignore the aroma of freshly baked goods? This time we resisted the temptation and only selected the peanut butter as well as oatmeal raisin cookies.
However we did other shopping : Maine maple syrup, hot sausages, fresh apples, carmel corn and two beautiful fall plants. Fortunately we had a 'shoe horn' to fit t all into our car.
We think that a stop at Chase Farms is well worth the few miles off of rte 1.It is always good to support a local business. We'll be back next spring.Written September 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After lunch at Spillers’ Farm Store, I went over to Spiller Farm where it was partly about apples and mostly all about pumpkins.
The rainy growing season had not been kind to a number of pumpkins. Many had a lots of warts on them. But, that didn’t stop people from coming to pick out some pumpkins.
While I was looking over the pumpkins already brought over from the pumpkin patch, a woman with three children came along with a cart full of gourds and pumpkins. They went on the scale one by one. Surprisingly, her total was under $25.00.
I rate Spiller Farm at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.

- Russell WMaine2,647 contributionsThis is a treasure trove of used, old, and rare books and maps and some magazines. You can spend a lot of time here perusing the stock. There are books that cover any subject. Most are on shelves, some are locked in glass cases. One can spend a long time here.Written December 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Russell WMaine2,647 contributionsWhile visiting Wells in January, we found so many places closed, but Spillers' Farm Store saved the day! After looking at a house with a realtor, I wanted pizza, and my wife wanted a lobster roll. Our first choices were both closed! We knew from Tripadvisor that Spillers' was open so we drove there, and it sure was. Not only did they have pizza (I bought all three slices that were readily available), but they had lobster rolls, too! Perfect, since we had to head to Portland to make our flight and didn't have time to drive around looking for lobster rolls. The store isn't huge, but there's a LOT in it. Meats, produce, a deli, pizza made on site, and the usual grocery items that you'd expect. The pizza slices themselves had been in the self-serve case for a bit, but they were still really good. My wife liked her lobster roll and chips. Friendly staff, talkative and engaging. I will not forget this place, and plan on visiting in the warmer months for berry and apple picking. Plenty of parking, credit cards accepted. Brisk traffic in and out even in Winter on MLK Day. It's nice that they are open daily year round when so many other places are closed.Written January 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
