Southern Maine can get expensive, especially around Ogunquit. Majestic Regency is in an excellent location, close to the attractions and beaches. I like the wide open spaces to walk plus there's an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, and fire pit with Adirondack chairs. The rooms are not luxury but they're adequate. Breakfast is included but it's a simple fare of non tasty donuts, danishes, and stale coffee. There's also apples and bananas for a healthier choice. This was my second visit to Majestic Regency while in Maine and I'd stay here again because the price is affordable, the staff is friendly, and the location is great.

Check in was fast and easy, we were told we were on the second floor. This place has no elevators so be prepared for lots of steps. The room was fine, a normal hotel room, nothing fancy. It was clean but nothing special. Breakfast was included and consisted of store bought donuts, bananas and toast/bagels with butter, jelly and cream cheese. There was also cereal and milk/orange juice to drink. Bed’s were made up daily and trash taken out. We stayed for three nights and had no issues. The pool was great, although a little on the chilly side. We asked for extra pillows and received them and front desk helped with recommending restaurants and pizza delivery. I
Location is great, there’s a gift shop across the street and it’s close to all the beaches, several restaurants and shopping. If you want fast food your only options are McDonald’s and Subway in the area. The closest other options are about 20 minutes away.

Basic clean room with no frills. 3/4 of a mile to the beach and a couple miles to downtown Ogunquit. Nice selection of on-site amenities. Friendly staff and plenty of parking. Good choice on a budget.

Our group has gone to the Majestic Regency for 14 yrs and have rented 8-12 suites/rooms each visit. We were thrilled to see their email about their million dollar renovation (They really needed it). We booked 8+/- rooms for the 3rd week end in September. We're aware that Covid has done a number on businesses and wanted to help out our old friends.

From what we could tell the renovations was exterior paint and flooring and paint in some of the rooms. BUT the rooms were filthy, the linens were filthy and a lot of them smelled to the point that two of our group had to move for medical reasons (dust/mold/mildew). Their usual Contenential breakfast with Congdon's donuts has been replaced with store bought donuts and one type of bagel. No half/half for coffee, no butter, a jug of orange juice and a jug apple juice. The breakfast room was now a storage dump for all the furniture they moved out of the rooms during renovation. AND the flooring had been ripped up to the concrete and filthy. The 2 ice machines were not working and ripped apart. The phone in my room had a message light flashing and called the desk to check on messages. The desk clerk was as rude as they come and had no idea what I was talking about and just passed it off as "it don't mean nothing". (I was coordinating the w/e for our group so it was possible that someone had left a message). Didn't use the pool or any of the other amenities. We were so disappointed in the hole place. We will NOT be returning.

The housekeeping staff were extremely helpful in getting us replacement linens and anything else we needed. They admitted they were short staffed and working hard to set things right. It's not their fault. IT'S OWNERSHIPS fault!!!!!

I took photos of the things in our room that were unacceptable and intend to forward to the owners and possibly the Health Department. IMHO the place should be closed down.

Room 20, checked in, never cleaned, carpet was fitly, covered in dog hair. room stunk, relocated to r 32, toilet from floor above was leaking down on our bathroom floor and wall towel rack, clean towel's were soiled,
ceiling tile ready to fall, mold on tub caulking, towel holder falling off the wall, holes on window screen, stains on carpet, musty smell, mattresses were softer then melting ice cream, dated 1996,lining of te hbed box frame was falling off, fridge was rocking, had a wood plug shimming it, maids did not clean each day, had to ask for fresh towels. Noticed bugs on one of the beds while packing to leave.
Breakfast room, I watched one of the staff member set up the breakfast, a tray of mini muffins was out of date , he scratched off the expiration date and placed them on the counter for customers to use. This motel changed ownership a few years back and the quality has dropped big time, never again will we be staying there, do not check in to ths establistment. NO COVID -19 posters or sanitiser available.

I have been going to this motel for many years with a wonderful free breakfast and good price and pet friendly. I had 2 rooms and this time it was horrible, no hot water, no box of tissues, no chair at desk, no bible , no trash can in the room I slept in, the other room was filthy , you couldn't even see in the mirror and floor was so dirty, but they had warmer water, tissues, bible and trash can. Breakfast was in the office with a box of small plain donuts and small muffins from Hannafords with no tongs to get them out of the box, just your hands. No juice and only 2 type of cereal, little fridge with soda, water but you had to pay for them. I guess money means more to them then the usual customers, I am sure they will lose lots of both in the end. I know they have lost me and the people that went with me. They even went up on the fee for my puppino. Such a shame.

I wish I could give zero stars. Ive stayed at plenty of discounted and dated motels that I would return to, but this is by far the worst. At check in the clerk had her young children distracting her. Upon opening the door the smell of mold and floral spray could knock you over. The carpet was moist and filthy. When I asked if we could switch rooms due to allergies to one without carpet she said we could but for only one night, we would have to move back for our 2nd night. The beds were flimsy and linens worn and gray. We paid for 3 adult guests and only 1 towel in the room, we went to the office and they said they don't have any more you'll have to get them tomorrow. the bathroom door doesn't close properly and doesn't clear the toilet. The toilet had a constant leak, black mold on the bathroom wall. ,Glad I had cleaner in my car, as we had to clean the shower and bathroom floors before use. Their kinda white towel was brown once we wiped down the floor. and the shower stall had no floor support. The wall mounted sink almost fell on us and the electrical outlets are only 2 prong that nothing would stay plugged into. Not grounded. 1 nasty rusted lamp to light the entire room and the tv didn't work. the air conditioner was moldy and the only heat source was an old heat coil that looked like a stove burner in the ceiling that stayed on after turning off the switch, and smelled of ectrical. There was an outdated phone that was broken and not able to be plugged in. There are no chairs in the room. The outside door had a large gap on the bottom and the rusted chain lock would stick, so you couldn't secure the door to your room. Questionable activity all hours of the night as cars coming and going and nearby room doors were slammed regularly. The amount of cigarette butts outside the room was appalling. I'm pretty sure there were left behind from the residents living there
On a positive note we love Wells! But this place is unsafe and should be condemned!

Upon arrival the staff was nice and helpful . Going to my room after staying here for years now every summer I’ve never got to stay in this room number 62. The room itself not only was not the room I booked for my trip . No one should be allowed to stay in this room as a health hazard . For starters the door could easily be pushed open where the wood is weakened and lock is not secure . Going into the room we have seen holes in the wall , caving in the ceiling and mold in the bathroom . Being pregnant I could not stomach to stay there just for my safety . So I took photos of the damaged room and went to the front desk . The manager failed to meet with us and all the front desk lady could offer was for us to give up the keys so we can get a refund in 3-5 business days . Driving to this hotel from two hours away we were subjected to stay in our car until the manager arrived in the morning . The manager showed no care to look into the evidence or help us get a better room . He was very rude and just wanted to push us out as another customer came in asking us what happened because they had issues as well. I was never given a owners number . I’m unsure if it was more of a racial issue with new management due to not having issues staying here before . Or their manager just has a do not care attitude .Room 62 should not continue to be rented, if a health inspector was to look at it the place would be closed . On top of that 8 other people staying this past weekend with me were requested different rooms due to issues and even a ceiling caved in, manager had no words .

We stayed for 5 nights on a family vacation. This was not anywhere near what we expected. The reviews we read before booking were not even close to what this really is.
Bathroom: is very small. Barely have room to move. No plug outlet. We called to ask and they said "they can give us a lead cord to use". Really? How safe is that!! The shower curtain was disgusting. We went out and bought a new one to use while we were there.
Floors: laminate flooring and they are very dirty (especially when your bottom of feet turn black after taking a shower)! We all wore shoes the whole time!
Bedrooms: all the furniture (dressers, lamps) are outdated and desser had broken handles.
Beds: are NOT comfortable at all and the beds roll on the floor. We had to position a chair plus a couch cushion up against the wall and in between bed just to keep it to stay in one place. The bedding was so old looking that we went to a store and bought our own bedding.
Lighting: very poor! They only have lamps and the bulbs were so dim you could barely see.
AC: is very noisy!
Everything is outdated.
Kitchenette: very outdated and not clean. Rhey do provide kitchenware but everything looked dirty. Refrigerator does not have a freezer section.
We woke up at 2am one morning to something crawling and scratching in between the walls. We reported it twice but nobody seemed too concerned. Our neighbors in next room also heard the same noise.
Outside Pool: is probably the cleanest part of the whole place!
Outside firepit: they only have one and you jave to buy your own firewood.
This was NOT worth the price (wayyyy overpriced) for what we paid.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed, it is filthy dirty. Common areas are unkept with holes in carpets and unswept. Stairways are dirty and stink of cigarettes. Everywhere is worn looking with chipped paint.
The grounds and pool are not maintained and the outdoor furniture is comical as every chair at the pool was missing slats and outdoor our rooms were cheap, dirty vinyl chairs. The rooms are no better with filthy box springs and stained upholstered chairs. The should be ashamed to take peoples money. Stay away
