After decades of wanting to stay at the Sparhawk, I finally got my wish and booked two nights in May of 2023 and there are absolutely no regrets! I reserved a room in the oceanfront unit. The view from the deck of Ogunquit Beach and river was spectacular. You are right over the water! The weather was amazing, and we were able to keep the deck door open and fall asleep to the sound of the surf which was delighful beyond words! The two queen beds were so comfortable and the room was very nicely appointed and sparkling clean! Loved the butler benches at the foot of each bed to keep out luggage on! Nice touch!
The bathroom was beautiful with a sparkling clean tub and shower, marble counters and plenty of space to store your personal items. Very clean and well appointed with fresh white towels, a makeup mirror, blow dryer and complimentary toiletries from BeeKind by Gilchrist & Soames of London which were so lovely and we used everything! The light scent of lemon verbena and honey is innocuous and not overpowering at all.
The refrigerator/freezer uder the sink in a cabinet was a great bonus!
They offer a varied continental breakfast in a really great, well appointed space with plenty of seating and tables on the deck outside. Good coffee available too, which is hard to find in Maine! Bagels, muffins, fresh fruits, cereals, toast and juices as well. There is an attendant during the breakfast time to make sure everything is refreshed and clean.
The check in was so easy and friendly! I felt welcomed and was treated like family. There is a check list in your room to select any additional toiletries and related items and as long as you hang the tag on your door for room service before 11:00 am, they will make sure they are delivered. Love this perk!
The grounds are beautiful, the pool area beautifully maintained as well. Plenty of outdoor seating and just off the Marginal Way. Walking distance to Perkins Cover and downtown Ogunquit. There's even a shuffle board deck!
I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Sparhawk Resort! We're already planning our next stay later this summer or next May. Early season is wonderful in Ogunquit as there are no crowds and traffic is at a minimum. I imagine Mother's Day weekend would be very busy so if you want to avoid the crowds book before then! The staff at the Sparhawk are knowledgeable and very sweet! Thanks to their beautiful room and the over the water view from the deck, our stay was worth every single penny! Thank you, Sparhawk Resort for providing us with the best stay in Maine in 25 years! We'll certainly be returning! I give the Sparhawk Resort 5 stars!
