The Meadowmere is a solid facility with clean rooms in excellent shape and reasonable amenities, which include a nice semi indoor pool and a couple of hot tubs. The provided breakfast is just coffees, muffins and some fruit, so nothing special, but sufficient if you are on the go. There is enough parking, which is not always the case in Ogunquit, though the layout does not make it easy to spot it all at first glance. With one minor exception the staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds were pleasantly landscaped, the excellent Jonothan's resteraunt is right next door, and the Ogunquit Playhouse is also accessible via a short walk.

Like the town itself, the older sections are not very accessible for people with disabilities. My wife had broken her ankle just before our trip (and we found this out the hard way, learning our room was only reachable via a short set of steps (this was the hiccup). Much praise for manager Josh who was able to shift us to a true ground floor room with easy access to parking. I know that was not easy and it made a HUGE impact on our trip being pleasant.

Despite the challenges covid presents, this hotel wanted all it's guests to have a pleasant stay. A true gem in a popular spot. There are lots of places you can choose, but this resort puts a ton of effort into the details such as always having the hot fire ready, fresh towels and clean rooms. A quick walk into downtown and the Marginal Way but also accessible parking. Shared a king bed as 2 adults and a 5 year old to save some extra cash and everyone slept comfortably.

With the exception of one year (a big mistake!), we've stayed at the Meadowmere for the last 10 years that we've visited Maine. We've always loved our stay, especially the many amenities offered and the short walking distance to Perkins Cove, downtown, and the beach. I see now as I look over other reviews that the Meadowmere is under new management, and I can say that we definitely noticed the difference this year. The front desk staff were not as friendly or helpful. Every year we make the very long drive early and have been able to check in as soon as our room is ready, but this year we were told that this wasn't possible and we would have to wait until check-in time either way. Considering I was spending a few thousand dollars for our stay, I was a little frustrated with this. When we did arrive in our room, it must had been hastily cleaned, as we found several items and garbage belonging to previous occupants. Our biggest disappointment, though, was the pub and pool service. We've always spent a large part of our trip poolside, ordering food and drinks, and were devastated to find that the pub was closed most of the week. The one day it was open during our stay, they did not come poolside or have menus. When I was finally able to flag down a bartender in the empty pub, he was rude about me ordering a drink and then informed me that they no longer allow you to charge to your room tab. This was especially annoying and inconveinent because I had to run back to my room for my wallet! I know covid has taken its toll on everyone, so I am truly hoping that some of these issues will be remedied by our next stay. We still enjoyed our room and feel that the amenities offered beat any other options. The hallways were very quiet and we especially enjoyed the comfy bed. I see a lot of complaints about the breakfast, but we were actually very happy with the breakfast menu offered at Jonathan's (a favorite of our's for dinner, and now breakfast too).

I have visited this resort many times over several years. My family has been vacationing at this resort for over 25 years consecutively. This resort was recently sold and changed ownership and management. The new owners are a big corporation. The quality and cleanliness has noticeably suffered. Prices have skyrocketed while services eliminated. Eliminated was the excellent breakfast once enjoyed and replaced with a standard continental breakfast you'd expect at a chain budget motel. The pub where the "breakfast" is served is roomy however basic house cleaning is non existent. On a recent stay. We had to wipe our own sticky tables and the floor hadn't been swept the entire 5 days I stayed.
Trash was sitting outside my room placed there by housekeeping from another room. The trash sat there for 3 days. Trash was also piled up outside an entrance door and accumulated the entire 5 days I stayed there. Trash cans were also over flowing at the main entrance and wasn't emptied during my stay.
The Roman spa and outside hot tub are in desperate need of maintenance and updating. Tiles were missing in the hot tub area and there was grit or piles of dirt on the floor of the hot tub. I felt like the outside hot tub had not been cleaned in a long time. The outside hot tub was not decorated for the holidays as had been done for 25 yrs previously.
The staff is minimally trained and front desk staff is switched out with staff from the companies other hotels near by. The staff aren't familiar with this resorts policies and give conflicting info. You could talk to three different staff members and get three different answers.
The rooms are nice and adequately cleaned. They are roomy. However they need updating and some furnishings are worn with broken hardware and scratches and water spots. The last update to rooms was over 10 yrs ago at least.
For the price per night I expect more for what you're getting. They have a resort price with a budget motel feel. Sadly I feel the time to look into other resorts for our family get together is needed. We reserve over 5 rooms for up to 5 days and I feel as though our money could be well spent some where else.

My husband and I decided to spend our honeymoon at Meadowmere after hearing many great stories about it. We got there and everything was great, the gentleman checked us in and went over the covid guidelines which set our minds at ease. We are both in our 60s and high risk so this was imperitive..everyone was to wear masks in common areas including pools, hot tubs elevators stairways etc. The 1st night was great. Come day two everything changed. Everyplace in the hotel we wished to go or use people were maskless. We would spend our days away from the hotel but when we returned it was the same crap! People in the lobby in the roman spa the pool the hot tub everywhere. NO MASKS! I did report this but to no avail. We will NEVER return to this 0"hotel" again. They don't respect ppls lives. They also overcharged us by adding a cot to our room every night! I will be spreading the word about this. I believe we should get a discount for not receiving goods due to negligence. This is our 5th stay at this location and it keeps going downhill each time. The rug in our room was disgusting with 2 food stains. The room had a moldy stay that we believe came from the rug needing to be replaced. We just replaced a 20 year old rug in our home that was in better shape. There were food stains all the way up the wall near the trash. The shower water stopped right in the middle of being covered in soap. When my wife called the front desk, the man at the front desk said "What do you want me to do, I can't make water." The water came back after about 5 minutes. The same man called from the front desk and asked if our water was back which we confirmed. His response was a sarcastic "Thanks for letting me know." The so-called heated pool is very cold to the point that you can-not enjoy it at all. This “resort” charges more than most hotels in the area. I travel a great deal globally for business and the room at this hotel was one of the worst experiences that I can remember. To assure that this is not a disgruntled customer, I will say that the bed was very comfortable and aside from the rude no water experience, most of the hotel staff were very nice. They cannot help it if badly needed renovations were needed years ago.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days the week of Labor Day because of limited availability and last minute booking. Overall, it was a good location with potential amenities but they all fell too short.
Things I did not like about the resort
1. Rooms are very outdated, esp the rooms in the second building behind the main
2. Bathroom are also not great and very small, with very little water pressure in the showers
3. The indoor heated pool was not heated like they said, the outdoor pool was warmer
4.Breakfast was included but not great thanks to COVID. Nothing hot, just limited muffins, coffee, cereal.
5.They don’t clean the rooms during your stay but will get you stuff you need if you call them.
6. The beds are not very comfortable and the pillows too big.

Positive things I did like
1. Relatively close to town and Perkins cove. Even with an infant, only took us 15 min of walking. However, there are plenty of hotels in town ( all of which had 3 day min for Labor Day weekend).
2. The bath supplies surprisingly were good, had a hair dryer.
3. The A/C was reliable and worked very well. Very cool in the room
4. Has a health club and spa and a pub, but can’t comment of it because never had a chance to use it.

For the price we paid per night, it was definitely not worth it to stay here. But if you need a place to stay in a bind??

The main reason why we went back to this hotel is because we were here 2 yrs ago and the indoor pool was heated beautifully in Mid October. They also offered a very nice complimentary Hot breakfast. We went back again the exact time of year for 2020. The pool was
So cold even my grandchildren didn’t go in and if they went in it was for less then 5 minutes! Everyone there complained how cold it was. I got several text
Messages during our stay asking are entire family how our stay was and I complained about the pool being so cold and it’s suppose to be heated and it’s not summer! They did nothing. Then they took away the free hot breakfast and gave us wrapped mini danish and granola bars. No fresh fruit. They complain the reason was of Covid. BUT, in the same
Token in the exact restaurant they were to give us the breakfast buffet, they served lunch AND dinner BUT for a Charge!!!??? This is so wrong. They took away maid service as well. They claim to have to
Charge for Children over 5 hrs old because they give us a free breakfast. The Covid breakfast they gave us was a joke. That wasn’t worth a few hundred dollars to being the children. But this was a family vacation with my kids and grandkids. The rooms we had were very nice. So with all these changes and cuts during our stay they should have turned up the pool heater or why didn’t we get a Covid-19 Discount? I’m just tired of businesses blaming the increases put on the customers on Covid. My main reason of complaint Is the indoor pool not being warm during October. If they had done that As we
Asked I wouldn’t be writing on here. If you have children you may not want to go here. Sad to say as they advertise they’re family owned and operated. Kids under 12 should be free.

Response from , General Manager at Meadowmere Resort
Responded Mar 15, 2021
Dear X1610JZsuec, It is with our apologies to respond to your posting and we thank you for your stay. We apologize that our hotel did not meet your expectations on your visit with us. We would like to apologize that you felt the water was cold in the indoor pool. The water temperature is kept at 83 degrees and the room temperature is at 79 degrees at all times. We do not fluctuate the water temps during any time of the year. Due to COVID-19 state regulations did not allow us to offer the hot buffet style breakfast. We are sorry that the breakfast was not what you expected. We will be making adjustments to the breakfast when the state lifts some of the regulations. While disappointed in your review, we hope that you will join us again one day. Thank you for sharing your concerns.

We were attending a wedding in Maine for a weekend in July and booked a room at the Meadowmere on Expedia. The hotel contacted me to ask if we could cancel our booking on Expedia and they will rebook directly with the hotel and offer a discount and upgraded room. From the exterior the hotel is nice, our room was a dungeon. We were in the "motel" side of the hotel and our room was under the center stairwell. We couldn't open the curtains because so many people were around, even when we did it felt like we were in a basement. It was so dark and tiny. Clean yes, bed was fairly comfortable but I couldn't stand to be in the room. No outside seating unless we wanted to sit at the base of the staircase. It was awful, surely not an upgrade at all, in my mind more of a downgrade. Pool was ok, super small pool area and literally couldn't get a chair either day when we came back from the beach so we couldn't even enjoy the amenities. And we paid $$$$ for this - would never ever go back or recommend to anyone

Overall the experience ok. Good location and on-ground amenities. When we arrived the first night our room had not been cleaned. We realized this late that night when going to bed as our sheets were dirty (black specks, clearly not washed). We went to the front desk at midnight to get new set of sheets for everything (pillow cases, blanket, sheets etc). After being met with an employee who showed no remorse and waiting 15 minutes, we just got 2 flat sheets and not enough pillow cases. The next morning after agin explaining their situation the front desk staff apologized and provided an entirely new set. That situation combined with the quality of room amenities was not worth the high price we paid for our stay.
