Quiet Little Hotel out of the way

Reviewed Nov 29, 2019
This is really a beautiful place out of the way of the hustle and bustle of nadi town. The road though does need fixing and hopefully will be tar cealed the next time we come.

Food in the restaurant is ok, abit on the pricey side. They offer free internet with a daily limit, it works best around the pool and bar area. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

If you want a place that is really quiet where you can relax by the pool and read a book, this is for you. I love the smooth classy jazz music that plays in the restaurant area, it is very relaxing.

Staff are friendly and will look after you. I would recommend for short stays

We had booked for 5 days, but were forced to leave after two as there was no running water. We filmed this, but the owner lied to us, and completely refused refunds.
These photo's are old, and do not reflect the current condition of the property. This hotel never has been and never will be 'boutique' and certainly does not boast 'a range of activities'.
It's a small pokey 3 Star, that's well out of the way. The neighbours dog's are aggressive and unrestrained, so if you are hoping to get to the beach, good luck without a pocket full of rocks to throw at them, as we were advised to do.
This is a woeful little place, save your money and pass it by.

Bula Hayley,

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We would like a clarify a few issues you have raised:

Water - please note that due to a burst main pipe on the Wailoaloa Beach(out of our control) water was affected for all properties in the Wailoaloa area and not only Oasis Palms Hotel. Water was affected overnight and was fully restored by 12pm the next day.

Refund - kindly note that we did in fact refund 1 nights accommodation which was the evening water had been shut off due to burst main pipe. I suggest getting in touch with your booking agent.

Again we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused & we wish you all the best in your future travels.

Thank you
Oasis Palms Hotel

Last minute booking as had to get out of awful backpacker Lodge in Suva. Other b/packer places booked. Booking.com didn’t state dorms were mixed so bit of a surprise when I got there. Marika sorted me something else at a reduced charge and I was delighted to have clean sheets, hot showers and my laundry done for free. Agree that the place is isolated and no-one should have to run the gauntlet with the neighbours dogs, but I found the staff and the service made up for some of the short comings.

Great weather (which always helps), VERY friendly, helpful staff, pleasant location - away from the main built up areas, excellent price, poolside room with lovely garden view.

A lovely break.

I have just enjoyed a four night stay at the Oasis Palms using the hotel as my base for my golfing holiday. I bought a package deal with Golfing Experience NZ that included accommodation, three days golf fees including green fees and cart plus all transport to and from the hotel. I decided to use Oasis Palms as it is relatively cheap and has a nice looking pool.
Oasis Palms is a three star hotel and I have to say that my review reflects this. The hotel is situated well off the beaten track - one taxi driver had never heard of it - located halfway between Denarau and Nadi. Most of the guests I spoke seemed to be using the hotel as a base to get to things close by such as the port at Denarau for trips to the islands. No one seemed to stay for very long.
The manager - Amitesh - upgraded my room to a room on the top floor with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. This was room 16 and it was quiet apart from a noisy air conditioning unit. The room appeared clean and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I ran my finger across the top of the tv and wardrobe and picked up a lot of dust.
The pool was perfect for me and it was nice to cool off with a swim after a day's golfing in 30 degree heat. Sadly, the hot tub was due to be cleaned the next day and had been turned off. Not sure why it needed to be turned off the night before.
The pool and hotel grounds with its adjoining restaurant/bar area have a lovely aspect to them.
The biggest disappointment for me was the restaurant. The menu is limiting and you really take take a chance with the food quality. I am allergic to gluten so there was very little choice for me. I had asked beforehand if gluten free food was available and was told that it was. It was disappointing to find on the first day that there were no breakfast options available so I asked the chef if she could cook me a fried egg with some bacon and tomato. The egg was totally overcooked and mashed up into something beyond recognition.
I also tried lunch on the first day- the chicken stir fry - but the chicken was overcooked. In fairness, the hotel did bring in some g/f breakfast options and they did try their best to accommodate me.
Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. It would appear that the hotel is understaffed though which causes all sorts of issues.
Overall, Oasis Palms hotel offers reasonable value for money but do not go expecting 5 star facilities and service. The hotel is located well away from shops so be prepared. I spent most nights at the Club Fiji which is a ten minute walk away and played pool with the locals. You will need a ride there as the local dogs lie in wait for you along the road.

Room tip: Top floor rooms are quiet with a nice balcony overlooking the pool.

Stayed at Oasis Palms for 4 days over the Easter break and over all enjoyed it. Staff are so welcoming and willing to help with booking day trips, taxis etc. Rooms were clean and tidy but smaller than what they appear in the photos. Bed was comfortable. Shower was adequate. Be prepared with some insect repellent as mosquitos there are crazy. Only thing I didn’t love was the menu at the restaurant. Choices were minimal and certain menu items were not available at the time we ordered but having said that the food we did get was delicious.
