Look Nadi is not all that. Actually far from it. So if you have to stay here, you have super pricy options most likely near Port Denarau or more reasonable accommodations in or near town (which are all located near the airport).

Smugglers was a solid option. Got a private room with a balcony overlooking the beach (which honestly is super subpar compared to the mind-blowing alternatives in the nearby islands). The room was clean and really outstanding for the price! The food was good and the fire show very memorable. Note options for food nearby are non-existent, the amenities like the pool was so-so and the beach really is not great.

In sum, if you need a place to crash for a night before you ship off to an island then this is a great spot.

Room was not as spacious and good as expected but the view from the room was very nice. Teabag/ coffee sachets are not provided and as for the toiletries only toilet paper roll and a soap was provided. The staff was very friendly and they have a very nice bar and dining area. Very clean pool and quiet place. Was not very satisfied with the room but the oceanfront view made up for it. Their "sneak to the beach" cocktail is amazing if you love the pineapple taste. Very limited parking space as well.

I am perplexed by the general description of the property where it mentions "newly built" - this building is either not new or has declined significantly and there was no "free high speed internet" when I stayed in November 22. In fact, I paid $10 for three days of very average internet access that worked most of the time.

We were supposed to be picked up from the airport, but this seems to have fallen through the cracks so we ended up getting a taxi after a 30 minute wait and no communication.

The accommodation is not too expensive, but you get what you pay for. Despite the somewhat run down appearance of the building, it is reasonably clean although my room was not serviced once in the three days I stayed. The appliances in the room could do with an upgrade (I did not use the fridge as the seals are black with mold) and the mattress has seen better days. The AC has two settings - full blast or off.

Breakfast is a very basic affair but the restaurant has an extensive dinner menu and the food was good. It is well worth exploring other restaurants in the area as there are several within easy walking distance. There is a small supermarket close by too.

Entertainment at night can be too much as this hotel is in the middle of a 'strip' of beach front hotels. They each have their own music going at night and the guy with the biggest sound system wins. If you happen to be seated nearer to one of the neighboring decks, you end up listening to loud noise, instead of music. It is a shame that there is not some collaboration between the hotels instead, so that entertainers do not have to complete against each other all the time.

The room is mouldy. The shower door was broken, The toilet keeps flushing, the room smells, there is construction out the window, the aircon was rubbish and wasn't working. If you try and ask for a pool towel the answer is no or $20. The outside area is filthy. The safe in the room was broken. Worst run and unhygienic hotel I have seen. We left after 2 hours of poor service and rubbish room.

Affordable budget accommodation with a lovely view of the beach and sunset from ghost ship bar/restaurant. We had a single/double room to ourselves, housekeeping did not visit during the 5 nights we were there. Unsure if it is a service that costs extra. Shuttle from airport is $15 FJD per person. Wifi is not free but can be bought although slow.
Staff were mostly friendly especially Merelita and Neel. Overall worth what we paid, but if possible buy own water/fruits as prices are more expensive. They did have a small store to buy knick knacks and any supplies e.g. sunscreen etc on site.

We had a great stay. Staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs including carrying out heavy luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs. They even allowed our visitors in which I find very rare. They also carried our food up to our balcony which was great. We had the Sunset suite at the very top - awesome view! Our room was nice and clean, super nice air con in the room and lounge area. Really nice kitchen area with a massive new fridge. Very convenient with the supermarket up the road and beachfront to chill. The ocean was sooo nice and hot to swim in.

Downfall: Some of the levels smell like damp, wet carpet and was really bad . Some of our dishes were so dirty and their were cockroaches in the toaster, microwave and jug. Would be great to have a volley ball net on the beach and some activities on offer for guests such as horse riding & snorkelling etc. Also some entertainment would be great as the music next door was the only entertainment we got but sometimes it was far too loud that we couldn’t sleep.

There was no fire show or kava ceremony and we were looking forward to that! The food at the ghost ship bar was really good especially the pizza and curry dishes! Be good if reception could help guests find the best taxi prices as some
Of the locals that stand on the road really take advantage of travellers and charge you the world. We did have a great stay in the end! I would recommend this if you want to stay near town, the airport and want to experience outside of Denarau. Denarau did get boring for me sometimes so I liked this experience this time around.

This is a good place to stay if you're on a budget. The pool is nice, as is the ocean for swimming (although there were no locals in the water when I was there). The bar often has local people in it and the food is good. There's a small grocery store 3 min walk from the hotel. The website that I booked through said they had free internet and that you could upgrade to a faster connection, which is why I chose it, but when I got there I had to pay for wifi and it was too slow for me to work on. I ended up going to town to buy a sim, which worked better, but the best option was the internet cafe about five minutes walk from the bustop in town (they don't have wifi, only working on their computers).

No hot water.

Definitely not new. No high speed wifi (FJ $5 / day for <5mbps).

You are getting what you pay for here. Staff is kind and friendly, food and drinks are good. Wailoaloa is technically a beach but you won't see anyone laying out or swimming. Any rooms front of house will get noise from the bar until late late at night.

Decent place to stay for a night if you are flying out the next day.

Smugglers Cove Resort is an excellent choice for different budget types. Apart from the happy restaraunt and bar ambience and vibe to the evenings, its clean and decent with helpful staff. The beach is gorgeous and sandy underfoot, good for walks as its quite a stretch. Its also conveniantly located on the local bus route, and the bus into town stops right at the door of the resort. Then there's other hotels in the vicinity that you can also visit and shops nearby. Definitely exceeds expectations.

Beware! Staff Elina and Salsa will mistreat you. We had made a reservation for 3 rooms on Booking.com and travelled 200+ KM only to find out that the booking was accepted by mistake and no rooms were available. Signifies that hotel staff don’t update their reservation system because they are all illiterate. Lodging at Smuggler’s is like trying to get electricity from a stone…
