Club Fiji Resort offers an experience that leaves guests with mixed feelings. While the service has received both commendations for its friendliness and critiques for occasional rudeness, the value proposition is similarly inconsistent, with some guests finding it affordable and others pointing to overpriced offerings. The resort boasts a vibrant atmosphere with Polynesian entertainment, though the music might not be to everyone's taste. Room conditions range from spacious and comfortable to unclean and in need of updates. The amenities, including beachfront access, various dining options, and two pools, are generally appreciated, but some areas have been flagged for necessary maintenance. The resort's location is frequently praised for its tranquility and convenience, particularly for those seeking a peaceful final night's stay. Cleanliness is acknowledged in well-kept grounds and rooms, yet there are calls for more rigorous cleaning in certain spots.

Honolulu, Hawaii
Club Fiji, while rustic, was a very comfortable place to spend a few carefree days. The managers, Les and Debra, were very hospitable and ready to help with any on site and local requirements. The staff was friendly and courteous. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the friendly bar readily available. One of the highlights was a free snorkeling boat trip to a nearby reef with Abdul - an excellent boatman and guide (most worthy of a donation tip). He was environmentally conscious and made sure everyone was comfortable from novice to old diving hands.

Bula Dan, thank-you so much for the kind words and obviously made it back to Honolulu safely It was an absolute pleasure having you here and all the staff are looking forward to your return, I will certainly pass on your comment to Abdul the boat captain, yes it is a nice little highlight going to the reef, it is not far however it is a great experience. The bar is a nice little spot, having a cold beer / cocktail and looking at those wonderful views across Nadi bay to the mountains (Sleeping Giants) As mentioned I will pass onto our wonderful staff, safe travels and will see you when you return Vinaka Vakalevu

We stayed 6 nights in the Club Fiji Resort. Overall it was a nice quiet hotel, the room was nice with the AC, kettle and mini fridge coming in handy. The sheets did have a funny smell but we assumed it was due to the heavy rains happening at the time which left a damp smell on most fabrics. The pillows do need to be renewed however. Room service came to tidy the room everyday! the rooms were pretty clean except for the odd mess we would make.
The pool which was operating was lovely to swim in and clean, the other one was empty due to the limited amount of visitors which meant they only needed to have one pool operating. The empty pool attracted a lot of frogs (with the rain) which was very entertaining! it was fun getting to see some wildlife. The 3 stray dogs and the little cat were also very friendly and didn't bother us at all.
The beach was pretty dirty and had some rubbish on it but the dirty sea water was due to the heavy rains bringing dirt and mud down from the mountains, the water was like that every place we went, it's just due to the current weather.
Finally, the staff were really great, they were always at our service and super friendly! Louisa made us delicious meals (however, some items were a bit pricey compared to other restaurants) and Brian would kindly drive us and pick us up from our outings for a reasonable price.
Thank you for the stay, a good place to stay at considering the low price !

I read some pretty poor reviews and took a chance. Here's my take on it:

Accommodation:
>comfortable bed
>clean and tidy
>basic garden but still a nice spot to sit outside

Staff:
>Friendly, warm and they look after you, not 5 star look after you, but sufficient for our needs

Location:
>They are doing a lot of planting and the grounds are tidy.
>Close to the beach which we did some kayaking on
> Pools are sufficient for a decent swim or to just sit in the water and relax
> Short taxi ride to shops, both Nadi and Port Denarau

Food:
> I personally was not fussed on the breakfast so got a cooked chook, cheese and buns from the shop.
>Also purchased 1.5 litres of water to use.
>No issues with Lunch or dinner, but we also ate out.
> The bar food is yum.
>Anywhere you eat it's a bit pricey but we are on an island who depend on a lot of exports.

Drinks:
> Beers are not expensive compared to Auckland city prices
> Cocktails are eye watering though

Overall I'd come back. The money I saved changing my location from Fiji Hilton to Club Fiji meant more spending money.

Cash or credit was accepted wherever we went
Make sure you have cash for the taxis.

Enjoy your holiday and don't expect 5 star at a 3 star.

We booked for one night and stayed for 6 as it ticked all the boxes for a relaxing Fiji holiday. It was the perfect resort! Palm trees, sandy beach to walk on, two pools, wonderful hammocks under coconut trees that were regularly trimmed with visitors getting free coconut milk most days - perfect in a pina colada, lounges on the beach, great bar, fabulous staff, who were very friendly and fun, good chef, good food, and a beautiful location. Waking up each morning to the sound of birds while looking up into a pretty mosquito net is very romantic - although at first a tad early, affordable beach side massage, definitely not 5 star but that was a large part of its charm. We met great people and made new friends largely due to the manager Les and Deb creating an atmosphere where people felt comfortable to talk to others. The free snorkel trip to the reef is fabulous - better coral than what we saw on the paid day out and the captain made us feel safe at all times as well as Club Fiji is child friendly and for us child free guests we could enjoy seeing the families being able to relax as well as us having the space to not be bothered by them. It is a weird but beautiful location, off the main road and down a pretty rough track only 15 minutes from the airport. Apart from the occasional plane it's very quiet without the sound of cars or noisy roads The bures were really fun and comfortable although quite old. Our beach front one was perfect for sitting on the balcony and completely relaxing over a drink at sunset. Close to Nadi but it feels like you’re miles away from everyone. It was truly relaxing and I highly recommend it to anyone going to Fiji as an affordable and wonderful place to stay.

Had a fantastic time here; Les and Deb are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. We were initially attracted to the ‘no meal plan’ option as we enjoy the freedom of getting out and about, however the variety of meal options, plus the pizza bar next door, at affordable prices, made it very difficult not to eat anywhere else! The two gentlemen working at the car, Kali and Jerry, were great fun and ensured we had a wonderful time. Free snorkelling was a great bonus and the fishing trip with Abdul was wonderful. We are not resort type of people, and so loved the feel of relaxed, authentic, Fijian type of living, situated right on the beach. Would recommend to anyone.

G'day Cam, mate it was a pleasure having here and we all are looking forward to your return, I am glad you had a fantastic time and thank-you for the kind words. Yep Abdul does a great job with the snorkeling and it is not to far to get to the reef and the little sand bar then returning to have a drink (Jerry and Kali) at the bar looking out over those beautiful views and enjoying the traditional Fijian atmosphere, yes it is relaxing Cam I have past on your review to our wonderful team, again thank-you and as mentioned look forward to your return Safe travels mate

This resort has so much potential, but unfortunately there were a few misses during our stay. We contacted hotel prior arrival for their free pick up service but was told to get a taxi instead when we were already at arrivals and that they will pay the driver when we get there. They did pay, but we wondered what if we didn’t have internet access and didn’t receive the messages?

The rooms, as we expected were rustic and basic and actually quite a good experience as it is something different from our other hotel stays. We found it so expensive though (Aussie school holidays) and upon check out, gave us an amount to pay for all our charge-in-room invoice without showing us a calculated tally of all these.

The beach is not exactly properly swimmable but the pools are pretty well-maintained. There are themed dinners and service can be slow (slower than Fiji slow), options are few if you prefer something other than what’s on pthe themed menu. Cocktails are not significantly cheaper than pricier hotels.

They can arrange taxis for you but when car driver arrives, make sure he is charging the same fee as what the reception says.

Central location on the harbour beach - sea breeze without the price tag. Easy access to Nadi Town etc. All taxi rides are between $10-30 for port, airport and town. Easy beach walk to Wailoaloa Beach for beach bars, pools, western hotels, craft market - great "modern" jewellery artisan's.

Authentic Beachside bungalow was basic but comfortable. Kayaks available for use, pool table, TV room, hammocks, and really clean pools (2). Food and drinks are available at the standard resort price e.g. island price.

“Your home away from home” is their stated mission. We really could have gone to 1/5 because the semidetached bungalows need refurbishing. Their bathrooms are tiny, old, and dark. The shutters sort of work. A newer three story bedroom block has much newer bathrooms that feel a bit more like home. We understand and agree with the poorer reviews.

There are two nice pools, one with a bit of newly built shade but the other has surrounding broken tiles. The beach front is lovely, albeit right next to a rubbish dump of a beach. The pool towels are a bit smelly even when fresh.

The internet is intermittent and fairly annoying.

Loud pop music plays continuously from the bar next to one pool, but perhaps that’s our ages showing (we span the 20, 30, 50, 60 and 70 age groups). Likewise the music for Sunday live “Polynesian night” was over-amplified western pop, with mostly off key singing, and not a hint of Polynesian.

When it comes to food, the breakfast is basic scrambled eggs, cut in half tasteless chicken sausages (we think), canned baked beans and vegetable stir fry. If you snooze you loose on the fruit options. Toast was complimented with the usual spreads. You are fairly captive for dinner by dining in house, at the pizza place next door, or going by taxi into town. Each night is a different “theme” for dinner, but is stir fry, roast or grill.

On the upside, their taxi/shuttle service is pretty convenient, the atmosphere is very relaxed (there’s no need to dress for dinner or abandon slides and slippers).

Even more, the staff in general are pleasant and welcoming. Don’t expect Les Clefs d'Or Concierges though. The front desk staff get the job done but again, no orientation or information about facilities.

We took the rating to 3/5 because of the relaxed atmosphere and staff who tried their best. We thought it was overpriced but had loads of potential to be a non-corporate relaxed Fiji experience. I doubt we will come back. It’s not the “real Fiji” in our opinion.

This resort was in a great location right on the beach and less than 5km from Nadi airport. We stayed here 2 nights, once on 6th December and once on 18th December. Reasonable value for the price paid and suitable for a 1 night stay. The resort feels unloved and could certainly do with some upkeep. The paths were broken concrete and grounds needed maintenance. We booked airport transfers from the airport both times, the first time no one had arrived after 1.5 hours and we had to phone to get a driver to pick us up, the was despite email confirmation of our airport pick up. The 2nd time we stayed (was only because we could not cancel without paying the full costs) the driver also had not arrived to pick us up after 1 hr so we caught a taxi. Both times the staff stated they did not have us booked in despite the email confirmation and double checking our booking and flight details after the first "no show". The staff did not seem to care at all that we were left waiting at the airport. Rooms are reasonable for a cheap hotel but the bathrooms had lots of mould and certainly need an upgrade.

The pictures on their website don’t accurately represent the hotel. The bungalows are old and worn down as is the rest of it. At one time, it must have been very cute but now it’s a shabby and worn down.

It’s all by it’s self down a long gravel road so you can’t walk anywhere. The beach is covered in seashells so you have to wear sandals or shoes so your feet don’t get cut. They have two pools and a large gathering hall with a bar.

The stay includes a continental breakfast but honestly it’s the worst my girlfriend and I have ever seen and we are in our 60’s and travel often.

We are here for only one night as we transition to a sailboat cruise so it was ok for a night but there is no way I’d stay here any longer unless I was very young and on an incredibly tight budget. It is a 3 star resort and my guess it is that high is because it is on the beach. Ocean views to command a premium but I’d rather pay more more a better place.

It’s not without any positives. The bed was comfortable, which is extremely important, and the place was clean. However, you have to share your room and common area with the occasional hornet and birds. No, I’m not kidding. The beds do include mosquito netting but the bartender did say we didn’t need it as the hornets won’t bother you if you don’t bother them.
