Great Location

Travelling around Canada Banff was our second stop. The Ptarmigan Inn is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are big with 2 large beds super comfortable slept very well.
Breakfast was great many option to choose from. We didn't have dinner here and decided to try other restaurants in the area which was super close to get to.
The hotel is situated on the main road in Banff and most restaurants are easy walking distance.
I would definitely come back to the Ptarmigan Inn and would definitely recommend this place

This rustic oasis in downtown Banff was everything and more that we could have asked for. Clean, and nice soap products. The bedding was to die for! We had a mountain view room with a balcony. I would skip the balcony since it overlooked a parking lot. The service was outstanding! Hope to go back one day.

Room tip: The hotel offers a free Roam bus pass. Use it! Super easy transportation without the hassle of paying to park. The Roam even goes to Lake Louise!

A good choice for a few days in Banff. Our room was a superior king which was very comfortable with added bonus of a coffee maker and fridge. The hotel is located on Banff Avenue so there was only a short walk to a large array of shops and restaurants. The bar at the front of the hotel serves a good selection of food together with a good drinks menu. Great service from bar tender Hammish. The only downside was the view as the hotel looked out onto the car park and the side of another hotel.

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The room was comfortable and had all the facilities we required, including kettle fridge and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the centre of town.

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Found a deal on Expedia & the hotel matched (& actually offered lowered price). Quiet rooms (except one night but after calling front desk it was resolved very quickly. Comfortable bed’s (but they use a flat sheet for the bottom which I did not love. Breakfast at restaurant was delicious. Good earth coffee next Door. 2km walk to Fairmont for conference (& free bus card was handy). I’ve being right along the main Banff Avenue. Overall Happy with stay

Room tip: Free bus card. Good earth coffee shop next door. Free parking

My hubby and I stayed here for a couple of nights recently prior to getting on the Rocky Mountaineer train to Vancouver. Banff is a beautiful town and the Ptarmigan Inn is centrally located on the Main Street of the town right next to and opposite the local bus stops and the hotel gives out complimentary local bus passes to guests which is great.

The staff are all very friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. Our room had 2 king size beds and a small table and 2 chairs. There was a tv, a full sized fridge, free safe and coffee machine. It had a good size bathroom with a bath (always a plus for me) and nice toiletries.

The room had a direct view onto the balconies of the hotel next door so not great in that respect. It was not very well lit though and felt rather dingy. Indeed to me the decor of the hotel overall felt quite dreary but my husband disagreed with me. He felt it was in keeping with the Swiss chalet vibe so maybe it’s me.

We only had breakfast here and it was ok and average priced with good service.

We didn’t take advantage of any of the other hotel facilities eg hot tubs as we were busy during our stay so can’t comment on that.
