I just returned from a 10-night stay at the RIU Jalisco and, in general, enjoyed my stay.
Positive items:
- Overall cleanliness
- Courteous, friendly, helpfull staff
- Decent entertainment (I stayed at 5 different RIU resorts, some of the shows are the
same, that gets boring)
- Good buffet food (I did not try the other restaurants), with the occasional item
being over/under cooked)
- Excellent service at the buffet restaurant and bars
Negative items:
- Outdated rooms, desperately in need of renovation
- A/C barely able to cool the room to an acceptable temperature
- My room smelled of mold, very unpleasent
Overall, a positive experience, but certainly not a 5-star resort.
I would return, but only after a general renovation has taken place.
