- cwtangVancouver, Canada12 contributionsMexicans are very talented people. I appreciated all performers, boat crews (boat #3 :D ) and servers who put together this wonderful experience. It was a fun filled evening with good food, beautiful decorations and LOTs of entertainment.
However there are a few things that people need to be aware of.
1) the boat ride is one hour long and is quite bumpy. Please bring motion sickness medication and choose the lower deck if you tend to get seasick.
2) the boat crew provides drinks, music and dance show during your ride, so please don't expect it to be quiet and peaceful.
3) there is no electricity and the bay is lit with candles at night. Please follow instruction and be careful when walking.
4) it is a buffet style dinner.
5) bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and a fan. It can get quite hot and muggy.

We didn’t snorkel but others said it was good. The best part was probably the excellent and attentive crew. The scenery on the trip was perfect too. - Patricia22 contributionsWhat a fun day! There’s so many activities for the family. We took our kids and grandkids for the day. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, water slide, floating docks with hammocks are just a few things. So much you can’t do it all! Food pretty good as well. Beverages for all. Staff was friendly and helpful. The boat ride to and from the beach was a lot of fun. Great entertainment on the way back! Tommy our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Emiliano was so helpful with the ATV/UTVs and a great guide. The lunch on the boat was super filling and all of the stops were great. Shoutout to our guide Pancho and his colleagues for bringing the energy and creating a fun atmosphere. - Cheyenne11 contributionsAlthough there are some mixed reviews on here we had a great time. We were a group in our 20s. The boat took us along the coast first which had some great views of Puerto Vallarta. This was a great way to see the town. We quickly pulled into Los Arcos with gear on ready to jump in the water. My only complaint is I wish there wa more time to take pics right in front because if you're snorkeling you have to get right in. I know there are probably reasons for this with regulations but more time to take pics before snorkeling would have been lovely. If you want good pics work fast before you have to get in! Only bummer is that we really only snorkeled for about 20 min. We did see some fish but knew there wouldn't be much so we didn't have high expectations. We then went about 10 min away from Los Arcos and they served lunch and you could get into the water for about an hour. There wasn't a ton of people on our ride so it was easy to use the toys they had. After we headed back to the ports and they played some games to keep the spirits up.
Tips:
Be prepared with some cash to get on the boat for the port fee (Puerto Mgico which looks like a mall). We only had to pay $32 MXN per person. You pay and then go through a quick security. Our tour left at 10 AM. It was a little confusing to find the tour so be sure to ask someone and they will guide you to an open patio in the middle of the mall where the group is (tiny stand). We received a message the day before what time and what to expect.
They do rent towels on the boat if you need one, but we dred off quickly on our own.
Our ride had some breakfast items along with lunch and an open bar. Nothing too special but in my opinion you're there for the ride anyways.
It was about 4 hours for everything.

From the beginning, our guide Angel was INCREDIBLE in his communication, attentiveness, and information he shared about the area. As a local to Yelapa, you could hear the genuine love for his home as he took us horseback riding, waterfall hiking & then made some short stops at points of interest thru town along the way back to the boat. He was joined by Guillermo(Memo) who provided fantastic photography just for our group at points ALL along the way and Chuy, our boat captain, who navigated that stretch of coast with a level of skill that can only come from years of making frequent trips back & forth in a variety of conditions. (I usually have anxiety out in open ocean, but even despite some decent sized swells on the ride back, I felt SO safe with this crew that I actually closed my eyes, relaxed & just went along with the ride.)
Yelapa is MAGICAL in an untouched/unspoiled kind of way- I hope the locals continue to advocate to keep property owners LOCAL.
As the weather shifted on us mid-day, the snorkel spot was better suited for experienced snorkelers, but I didn’t mind staying in the boat with Chuy & enjoyed watching the others check out the sea life.
Pizota was the last stop where we got to enjoy a DELICIOUS buffet style Mexican lunch beach side with a FULL bar too. After lunch we had time to lounge in the hammocks, play ball on the beach, and although paddle boarding is usually an option, that particular day our group all opted to vibe lounging on the beach.

The food was nice (I'm vegetarian and there was enough fruit, bread, cheese available). The music was fun – though loud at times. Snorkeling was amazing! The rules and expectations were clear. None of it felt rushed. We saw cool fish and birds.
