Confusing: Hotel with two names!

Reviewed Apr 6, 2017
Here are my PLUS’es and MINUS’es, after a short description.
The hotel has two names, Landshark Inn and Coco Plum. Maybe a name change ongoing, but I don’t know which is the old or the new one. Landshark Inn is on a signboard outside, not Coco Plum.
We stayed a week in March 2017, booked on airbnb. The place is an ordinary hotel, not a private home, as said on airbnb. Any Mrs Johnson was never present, she is an agent. The restaurant  was under renovation, no service.
It's 3 two storey buildings and a front desk & restaurant building in a square, with a small pool in the middle.
+PLUS+:
+On second floor rooms facing the pool are big and light, with balconies. Ground floor is more dark. Ground floor rooms facing the back of the houses have patios.
+Public transport is excellent. Small buses, 20 passengers, run all the time, without time tables. 10 km to the city, buses frequent, even if they stop running at 7 pm, which was a surprice. They pass airport as well, you don't need to take a taxi! Bus nr 12B to the airport, for $1,25.
+Beaches, many restaurants and two supermarkets are close by, walking distance, both West and East on the highway West Bay Street. Please explore the surrounds, there are some gems to visit, e.g. Marley Resort&Spa a small walk westward.
+Most of the staff (not all) were friendly and talkative, even the builders and cleaners that worked there. We got many advice from them, sometimes better than from the front desk.

--MINUS--:
-The location of the hotel is not the one marked on airbnb's Google map. It is 1,3 miles /2 km further West on the main road.
-The hotel is along West Bay Street, the most busy highway on the island, and traffic noise is remarkable.
-Receptionist didn’t find the key to our room when we checked in. Half an hour later I went there again, she had a key.
-A few of the staff at front desk did not show attention and friendliness to guests. One of them did not look at me when I asked a question, she continued to use the her computer while talking to me. Maybe a gender issue, my husband got more attention.
-Noisy people having party in the pool/bar area some late nights, even if the restaurant was closed/under renovation. Front desk said noise until midnight was OK  according to the rules. Anyway, it continued to 1 am, so we had to go down and say some sharp words. Then it stopped.
-The whole site is shabby. Building standards look very amateurish and tatty, garden beds are not well maintained.
-The room had very few furniture: a bed (waa comfortable), a TV-table and only one nightstand by the bed. I missed one on the other side. One long wall shelf and racks for clothes, but no hangers. Only one chair on the balcony, no table. We borrowed one more chair from the pool area. The AC device improvised as table. Later we got a small table there, after requesting it.
-AC had no adjustment possibilities, only full speed or off, and was very noisy. AC air outlet was full of dust and dirt, should be cleaned. Luckily  there was a quiet fan in the ceiling that worked fine.
-A signboard on the road said "Restaurant now open" but there was no restaurant. The restaurant area was under renovation (end of March 2017), the place was an ongoing building project, with sounds and noises accordingly. I read here that when restaurant is open, locals have parties there late nights and disturb guests wanting to sleep.
-Wifi very poor most of the time. Often no wifi for a half or a whole day.

All in all, Coco Plum/Landshark Inn was an OK place to stay, considering the price. Most of the hotels in Nassau area are muuuch more expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms on second floor facing the pool are bigger and have balcony. Noisy though if the restaurant...

This motel is horrible and filthy! When we pulled up in the shuttle we thought it was a mistake. We were in complete utter shock that this was even an option to vacationers. We didn’t stay and booked two additional hotels within 30 minutes. We wasted money because we couldn’t get a refund from Coco Plum, it was booked through bookit.com and they were not accommodating either. At the end of the day we was better off at the other hotels. I suggest if you prefer clean and safe accommodations avoid Coco Plum at all measures.

After reading the reviews and expecting the worst, it was not that bad. I had an upper floor and was the only person staying in the block of 4 rooms (there are 9 blocks). Hot water was inconsistent, pressure could have been better, but still did the job. Towels were good though I had to wait until they were dried. Room was basic, just a bed and TV and chairs and a table on the balcony. Microwave and hot water at reception. The receptionist on check in was irritating and unhelpful. The older one on checkout was nice.

Supermarket up the road, a bit further are places to eat, and within a 10 minute walk is the beach. I was happy to stay here and not in a resort. I felt sorry for the people who flew all this way to spend a fortune on a resort stay next to an average beach.

Coco Plum is adequate for one night but not for a week on holiday. I would give it two stars if not for the price, it just wasn't worth the money.

I spent some time there back in October. The hotel is terrible. Some of the staff are friendly but the housekeeping staff is not friendly or helpful. The hotel looks like one from the '70s and needs serious upgrades. The pool was filthy and full of algae when I first came. The hot water in the shower goes from scorching hot to blistering cold. There is no balance with the water. On occasions, the room wasn't cleaned for three days and there was no change of towels on several occasions. It is not worth it. It would be best to stay in a better hotel. Would not recommend this place to anybody.

I stayed my last three nights here hotel staff friendly.room average for low budget. At the pool we were harassed by a lady named dd for having our own drinks and food at the pool. As she claimed she was there to ask guest what the hotel could do to be better. She also offended many of my Bahamian friends who were at the pool. And made us leave the so called 24 hour pool. I don't pay money to be told what to do on my vacation. Disappointed in only in this harassment general area is safe and rooms need cosmetic makeovers I would only suggest if you only plan to stay there to sleep and shower. Below is pictures of my friends and the annoying guest-let me better this hotel lady dd.
