Our ship had some issues getting to port on time so the company waited for all the cruise go-ers to make sure we got our excursion day in. They also took really great and clear photos, and helped us to get the most out of our experience. In addition, Sterling was fantastic and easy to talk to and gave awesome advice to get close to the pigs as well as the fish. - Hmohurdle4 contributionsWent down a rabbit hole and searched every possible tour to rose island and think this is the best deal for the experience.
We had previously done Pearl island so wanted to try a different location. Speed boat fit about 30 people and was much more fun than the big ferry to Pearl island. The 007 boat was almost to same thing as they pulled up to reef and beach at the same time and even used each others boats to help get passengers back on a bit easier.
Turtle viewing from boat was about 5 minutes and we saw two turtles surface for air.
We are scuba divers so we're looking forward to seeing the reef. Reef is much much larger than Pearl Island but a little less vibrant. Besides the typical reef fish you would see, we saw two huge barracudas on the outskirts of the reef and a Sea Pearl (algae) which was cool. Don't voyage off reef though because it's an active boat channel and there were about 5 other tours pulling in close.
You need to be pretty mobile to get on the boat as there is a big step down to the bench seat. Also have to climb down a ladder to get off boat at beach. Able bodied adults and kids will have no problem but I would not take an older person with us.
Lunch is basic- single patty hamburger or hotdog and bag of chips. Rum punch was great!
If you are just staying in Nassau you really do have to do one of these island excursions to get a feel of how majestic the water is. Nassau is the most picturesque place but once on Rose Island you feel like you are in paradise.
Can ride was about 15 minutes and $25 from Margaritaville hotel. Arrange with driver to come back and pick you up as there are not cabs readily available there.
Pig experience was great. Lots of different sized pigs. Expect that pigs will poop in the water but then staff picks it up quickly with nets. Make your pig food last longer than other people and you won't have to fight for a picture because the pigs will all come to you.

The snorkeling didn’t work out quite as planned due to the weather and wind, so we waved at Pearl Island, rather than stop there and risk it.
But they took us to a really nice spot off of Rose Island instead and let us snorkel and explore the reef there!
Spotting turtles was fun and then finishing up with a swim with the pigs was the icing on the cake!
We had a fairly small group, 12-15 people, which was SO nice when it came to getting everybody rounded up to hit the next spot.

Boat crew was very friendly, and be prepared for a very small boat going super fast in the water to the island. The coral reef was neat with lots of colorful fish, and my older son enjoyed swimming farther out and right next to a turtle. My younger son is not a strong swimmer, so we stayed closer to the shore and focused more on the fish. Went on snorkeling adventure and sunset cruise with same tour company but different boats. Sunset cruise turned into a party boat due to lots of rain, made the best of the weather. Snorkeling was fun, safe and adventurous.
