Nestled in a prime location, Sandyport Beach Resort garners acclaim for its serene Bahamian atmosphere and proximity to idyllic beaches and local attractions. While reviewers appreciate the spacious rooms, some guests have raised concerns about their outdated nature and maintenance needs. The family-friendly amenities, such as pools with slides, are a hit, yet some visitors feel updates are necessary. Opinions on value and service are varied, with praise for the helpful staff but some frustration over hidden fees and inconsistent service.

The resort is quiet and relaxing and filled with kind friendly staff. We had the pleasure of staying on the lagoon beach side, which was like having our own private oasis. We spent time at the Conch Shack beach bar daily and Boscom the Bartender was friendly, attentive, and a true mixologist making everything fresh and delicious! Mojitos and margaritas, the best we’ve ever had! He makes you feel at home… The Conch experience with Christine “the legend” was truly a unique treat and the best conch salad you can get on the island ! She harvests it before your eyes and makes the salad an experience from start to finish! Miss Sarah, Concierge couldn’t have been more helpful, sweet and on the money about every recommendation she gave us. Our Island experience was truly wonderful thank you, Sandy Port, we will be back.

We stayed at Sandyport Beach Resort for 4 days to get out of the busy city life. The promise of relax was fully met. The property always beautiful, spacious and not crowded. It was quiet out here, compared to any other place we’ve seen in Nassau. After a day in downtown we were glad to come back to the quit of the resort. Our expectations of relaxation were fully met. The resort features a ocean beach which banned for vendors which we highly appreciated. The beach area was surrounded by chaises and hammocks, were we spent most of the time. If the “breeze” is too strong at the ocean side you can retreat to a lagoon beach with water coming from the ocean through a canal. There’s sand there too so it feels like being at the beach directly.
Employers and the manager were very friendly and helpful. If we ever come back to bahamas I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Nevertheless we’re giving only 4 stars because one day out towels were taken for cleaning but were not replaced until late evening, although we asked the reception. Luckily we had our on towels.
Another critique would be that we felt the furniture was old and could need some replacement, especially the bath tub. Maybe it was just the villa we stayed in which appears to be the first one built by the resort.

If you’re at the resort you might meet other guests residing in more expensive rooms that might bully you away from your hammock or chaise. Don’t listen to them, every guest at the resort has the same rights!

Finally, regarding the restaurants around the resort: the only one we can recommend is the twisted lime (4.5/5). The others, blue sail (2/5) and spritz (3/5) lacked any kind of good customer service, forgot to provide utensils and were heavily overpriced for the food the serve.

Sandyport made for a very relaxing vacation. Our family enjoyed the pool and the water slides. It was a short walk to the beach. There are a few lovely restaurants within walking distance. When we wanted to go into town the front desk had a taxi waiting for us. It really did make our vacation easy and fun. We stayed in a two bedroom suite, which was perfect for a family of six. It was complete with 2 1/2 bathrooms and a nice size kitchen. Pool towels were always available at the front desk, which made our packing easier. If you want to stay at a resort that has everything you need without an enormous price tag, this is your spot.

Resort is extremely well run. Front desk very helpful, grounds are in great shape, and the studio we rented met our needs of a small kitchenette to save $$ on breakfast and lunch. Easy access to a walkway under a busy street to the beech. Free lounge chairs and an umbrella with very few people on a beautiful setting. Snorkeling was so/so off the beech. Only negative was problems with the internet which is the only reason it's not 5 stars. There are 4 excellent restaurants within walking distance. Also, they have good public transportation so a car isn't necessary to get to many of the attractions, beaches, & Nassau..

Sandyport was a great resort to stay for my first time out in the Bahamas. So relaxing, so tranquil and welcoming. The staff was amazing. From the front desk, to the cleaning, to the driver, they were all super friendly, amicable and considerate of anything to make your stay perfect. The resort is connected to the beach, which is it’s own private beach. The view is beautiful, with the whole turquoise light blue transparent ocean at your feet. They have a couple pools too if you want to relax poolside, with some slides for little kids to enjoy. Also, a lagoon connected from the ocean going thru the resort is also available right outside your door step with the clean soft white sand. Hammocks, cushy beach chairs, outdoor patio furniture, coconut trees! This place is truly a romantic, private getaway to enjoy with a special someone or your family. They have everything you need, from a kitchen with fridge stove dishes pots and pans to a big jacuzzi bath in your bedroom with jets, and a living room space. I will definitely be coming back to this resort. It’s also a great location to venture out from the Main Street to other islands like paradise island, or the Bahamar casino. Also, there’s some great restaurants super close, walking distance, from your room. There’s a cool swanky bar called Bon Vivants nearby that gets lit at night. I also noticed they are further constructing for more rooms and easy access/pathways to get around the resort from one side to the other. All their buildings have cool names like green turtle, blue dolphin, manta ray, etc...above all, the people there are amazing and make this place super great. Levon was an incredible driver, got us to and from the airport with perfect timing, and he was extremely knowledgeable on places we wanted to check out, things we could do, local stuff to experience. Truly a magical place.

We stayed at Sandyport for one night on our way home from Eleuthera. Unfortunately, our whole vacation was cut short when the Canadian government issued an advisory for all Canadians to return home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite everything that was going on, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our kids had fun in the pool and the suite was very spacious and comfortable. Having the separate bedroom was nice, so my husband and I could stay up later to relax after our kids went to sleep. It was also great to be within walking distance to restaurants and other amenities.

We were also EXTREMELY impressed with how much cleaning the staff were doing. Our room was absolutely spotless and in the common areas the staff were constantly sanitizing every surface. Given everything that was going on this gave us some peace of mind.

We will return when this is all over!!

We stayed at Sandyport beach resort & enjoyed our time there, all the staff go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time there, from the front desk to the consier & the maintenance staff to the cleaning ladies.
The most helpful person is Lady Sarah, she personally sits down with you and help you plan your excursions & Beach gateways.
This is a gated community with a security guard at the entrance. Quiet safe.
The resort is old but they have maintained it very well.
There is a self serve laundromat @ $ 1.50 per load.
Bring a lot of 1$ bills to use on the bus if you want to go downtown each way is $1.25 takes 15 minutes.
Eating out in the restaurant is expensive, dinner for 2 is about $ 100
There is a beach on the property, but you have to walk 5 min from your room. There is also a lagoon but you can not swim in it.
You can see private yacht passing by in the lagoon for people who have property across the lagoon.
There is hammock on the sand just outside the rooms.
We had a 1 bedroom with full kitchen, we brought our own frozen meat & cooked our meal sometimes.
The pressure in the shower is not up to Canadian standards.
The sink taps had hot water on the right side.
You can rent a stand up board for $ 25 per hour but it ways about 50 lbs.
Every Thursday & Sunday there is a free transfer to & back to the big grocery store at 11 am. The grocery is also expensive here.
This resort is very quiet & peaceful, it was half empty in January 2022
Taxi ride to downtown cost $20 each way. From downtown to the paradise island cost $17.
From Airport to the resort , taxi cost $25 for 2 people & 2 luggage. Never take a taxi without negotiating the fare first otherwise you will be in for a surprise.
All the taxis are vans & not 4 door sedan.

Thank you to all the staff to make our holidays wonderful.

I want to start with what is wonderful about this place: the ambient around the villa and marina is absolutely relaxing, romantic and beautiful. Lots of nature and a nice beach on both sides of the villa plus in front of the property (in front of the Blue Sail). The rooms are large and the beds are super comfortable. The showers and the Jacuzzi are wonderful. Some rooms have a full kitchen. The location is good ( 10 min from airport and 15 min ride to downtown). There is a fantastic cocktail and tapas bar nearby (Bom Vivant) and some good restaurants within walking distance to this place (including the Poop Deck). The service from some of the house cleaners were great. Lavene Darling was the best cleaner out of all others. She provided excellent service. There was excellent service at the front desk, by Pam, Desiree and others. Ruben cleaned the pool really well on Sunday. We were in this place for two weeks and we saw many problems, but it is great for a short stay. Some improvements needed are: house cleaners need to be trained properly; bell service to get luggage’s to and from the rooms; consistency and improvement between services around the property (particularly cleaning the pools); better water pressure in the slides, options for breakfast and at least one restaurant or snack bar at the pool area. They also need to have more options for entertainment for younger kids. A little water park would be a great improvement. The most difficult thing about this place is the fact that they do not have a restaurant at the location. The Blue Sail is the closest and is best to go there for lunch or diner. The only cafe near the property is not worth going, so if you want options for breakfast, you will have to buy things to prepare it in your room or take a taxi to go have breakfast in a nearby restaurant. If they had at least one restaurant near the pool and offered breakfast, it would help a lot!

I have to applaud the owners for surviving during Covid and for trying to be better. I hope they can improve those things, because the Bahamians need to feel proud of the few places they have that have not yet been purchased by one rich Chinese name or other large corporations. This place is definitively very good, and it can be great with a little bit of staff training and the suggestions given.

Great place to stay; the staff is amazing; they go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one; some issues with my room but staff were on it asap and took care of any and all issues on either of my stays. I loved the place so much that I returned 1 week after my first 8 day stay for another 8 day stay; will definitely return. Dominique and Lee Ann were great and so was they lady in charge of guest services whose name I cannot recall right now; definitely recommend this resort; best to rent a car because taxis are expensive and best to take advantage of the grocery shopping trip the hotel offers and stack up on groceries unless you plan to eat out most of the time; food is tad bit expensive. So if you are on a budget definitely rent a room with a kitchenette and prepare breakfast at the resort eat out for dinner; great beach across the street from the resort; beautiful green waters; location is on the I loved it; Feel Free to call me for any questions or suggestions 917-699-5466 Shayla I am in NYC

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, nice rooms and resort, and close to a number of good restaurants. We reported a few minor issues (intermittent light switch, binding closet roller, 'spotty' TV (burn-in?); and defective dishwasher. The response and repair time was excellent, except for the dishwasher, which remained defective for our entire stay (out of the resort's control). So we washed our dishes (no huge deal).
The resort is within walking distance of a grocery store, and buses to downtown (bus stop just outside the resort) are frequent and cheap ($1.25/person).

I loved the swimming in the ocean (fantastic turquoise blue color and when i was there calm or calm enough for swimming). You can also swim over to another beach (it’s by another property which I don’t know and which is farther away, not on same stretch as Sandyport, ie no disturbance or people from the other place). I also loved swimming in the lagoon (which I didn’t expect, was lovely, always completely calm)
