This is an unusual hotel. The food is excellent and healthy. The cost, especially with half or full board, is outstanding for the region. The views are spectacular, especially from the side that looks out over the valley and up at the Jungfrau. You can walk into Interlaken or Wilderswil. Wilderswil is the train station at the entrance of the train lines that go up to Grindelwald, Wengen, Murren, Shynige Platte, the Schilthorn, the Jungfraujoch, the Lauterbrunnen Valley and ... everything worth seeing.
But there are no televisions in any of the rooms.
It's like stepping into a different world. Even the internet in the public areas is relatively slow. Everything is gemutlich.
There are apparently church groups that use the hotel often. If you care to, you can go along on their "ausflugs" or hikes. You can even sit in on the evening homilies, if so inclined. (While I was there they had a Swiss one evening and a German for the remaining evenings.)
It's relaxing, pleasant and almost like hitting the "reset" switch in your life. I recommend it highly, but it's not for the night life.
