Our first time to Hotel Heimat. Comfortable, family run hotel. Had a room with balcony looking onto the Jungfrau, stunning! This is a far better hotel than it's 2 star rating. Food is varied, good and 5 course meal if on half-board. It is very clean , shower room and toilet a good size. All staff pleasant and helpful. We went many trips from Wilderwil, to Wengen, Schynige Platte, Jungfrau and the Schilthorn. We travelled by local bus on our free visitor card to Isetlwald on Lake Brienz. We went to Lucerne, a beautiful old city, enjoying a cruise on the lake. we also visited Thun castle and the old town as well as the market. This is our second visit to Wilderswil and it is still a lovely traditional old village with lots of charm and character. Locally we went to the Old Mill, now a museum and to the old part of Interlaken, Unterseen, enjoying a walk along the river . We also took the funicular to Harder Kulm for a great view of Interlaken and the two lakes. Don't miss the small animal park with mountain goats and marmots, next to the funicular. The Co-op in Interlaken or Thun is a great place for a reasonably priced coffee and cake or snack.

Our original hotel was fully booked so we were "downgraded" to this two star hotel. If this is what downgraded means then I will take it any time. There was a friendly welcome, a clean room with a beautiful balcony view across the mountains, nice bathroom and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the warm rolls. After the trips out during the day we returned to the hotel and watched the world (and the cows) go by whilst enjoying their excellent beer. The hotel is a short walk into town and it was no inconvenience at all to join up with the rest of our tour party at their hotel. The people who run this hotel are so helpful and obliging. We thought we found a hidden gem by chance and anyone staying here should be very pleased if our experience is anything to go by.

Was originally booked into another hotel in Wilderswil but due to overbooking was relocated to the Hotel Heimat. On arrival at this hotel I was met by the charming owner and her son and with there warming smiles made me feel very relaxed and welcomed. The room allocated to me was spotless and very comfortable with ensuite facilities.The room also had cable TV. I was lucky enough to have a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains and it was so nice to wake up to those views in the morning.The breakfast was continental with a good selection of cereals,meats,cheeses and lovely bread. Another family member controlled the breakfast operations and again his welcoming smile made you feel at home.The hotel is just 10 mins walking time from Wilderwil station. I will return to this hotel probably in the winter

Family owned and operated-excellent service, delicious traditional Swiss menu. We ate here twice because it was such a great dining experience. Fondue was excellent! Mixed salad bar gave us an opportunity to try different foods. Highly recommend the chipped veal with rosti and pumpkin soup.

We had a brilliant stay at Hotel Heimat, the owners couldn’t have been lovelier or more helpful; they went beyond on several occasions for us. The rooms were very nice too, super clean and had an amazing view from the balcony. Breakfast in the morning was excellent too! Would definitely recommend.

Located 10 to 15 min walk from the Wilderswil train station, can be also accessible by bus from the Interlaken West Train Station (get off the bus next to the hotel ). We enjoyed our stay, we experienced :cozy and clean rooms, tasty breakfast ( fantastic bread) , friendly hosts. Minor problem was noise from the road traffic and lack of even a small fridge I the room, however hotel worth recommendation

If you are craving a genuine Swiss experience and fondue is the dish they do a good one here. A pretty Swiss chalet exterior on a warm summer evening was nice to sit outside and enjoy. Unfortunately summer brings flys and they were annoying.

We arrived late and left early due to travel problems so cannot comment fully but we stayed in the Annex and it was fine - clean and sufficient for our needs. Carlos on reception was extremely helpful and kind as our travel had not gone to plan and I would certainly recommend this hotel for an overnight stop and maybe more.

Good location, 15 minute walk from the Railway Station, Lovely authentic rooms, we had a fabulous mountain view from our balcony. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a real treat each morning and the restaurant served good local food and wine. I would happily revisit this hotel. If you want an authentic Swiss experience this is a great place to start!

Great location near Interlaken, walkable distance to trainstation around 800 meters also has a great bus connectivity, amazing swiss brekfast buffet, nice cozy room with excellent views of jungfrouch mountain ranges.
