Have just visited Barcelona for work and was staying round the corner. This small place with a few tables outside and in with the addition of some stools by the bar was the highlight of the trip.
It's run by a mother and son from Mexico City who produce some of the most authentic dishes outside of their home country. The Nachos and Guacamole were exceptional. Nachos were recently fried Tortillas rather than out of a bag, the Guacamole was freshly made for each serving and these combined with Pico de Gallo and melted cheese were exceptional. On my last visit I also tried the Nopales salad - made with fresh cactus leaves - and that also was a revelation.
I tried a variety of their tacos as well, all which were full of flavour, the best being the Poblano which was highly addictive and packed a range of flavours in to each bite.
Alongside the food they also served some.grest margaritas, mezcal and tequila and an unusual combo of tomato juice, spices and beer called a Michelada.
I would recommend El Changarrito to anyone who has even a passing fondness for Mexican cuisine, you will remember this place for a long time.

Tacos and guacamole nachos are just sooo yum. Almost like homemade, we had a great meal. My husband said this was the best guacamole he’s ever had!

Decided to visit this restaurant after reading the TripAdvisor reviews and we were not let down. The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing and I’m all the food was extremely delicious. Will visit again.

Had some nachos and some tacos here. Everything was very tasty, the toppings on the nachos were extremely abundant. Washed it all down with cold beer. Split a tres leches afterwards - best dessert we had in a while. All in all it was a delicious meal, in a cute place, at a great price. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the vicinity

my partner and I stopped in for some nachos yesterday. I have not stopped thinking about them since then.
we walked by already today for more but they weren’t open yet 😂
the margaritas were delicious as well. we’ll definitely get more food next time, but I highly recommend the nachos.

Our family ate here when we accidentally made reservations for the wrong night at a nearby Italian restaurant. We were starving and walked past Changarrito—I'm glad we stopped. Super friendly staff, and great homemade food. There is one table downstairs, and two small tables upstairs, as well as a couple of seats at the bar. If you get tacos, be sure to get at least 4, as they are small (but super tasty!) Or just get one of the plates...i highly recommend the choriqueso!

I really love this place! Food is absolutelly amazing, real homemade (in fact, there are part of the family working there) and people managing really friendly!
I didn't gave them 5 stars, due to some drinks price. But if you order standard drinks, price is not a problem at all.

A really lovely family owned restaurant. Great to go to if your near the magic fountain. It has a simple menu but it was really delicious and cheaply priced. A nice break from tapas. It is quite small with limited seating, but great tacos!

This is a hidden gem that is just a ten minute walk from to Font Magica. Everything we ordered was amazingly delicious, especially the margaritas! Great fun friendly service. It is very small so you my have to wait. But it is worth it!!

The owners are from Mexico City and they make their food as if they never left. The prices make me want to eat their every night we are in Barcelona. The place is tiny the front glass sliding door may look automatic but it is manual. The service is good and friendly, Enjoy you Mexican food!

I knew this place is 2 min walk from Crown Plaza but had no chance really to have look only the last day. The place is small but the food was excellent. I had Taco which is nothing special BUT THE SALSA ! Amazing, tasty but very hot, different komdnof things to treatypurself. I can only recommend it as a cheap and good option to grab a bite ( 8 Eur for two Taco and two coke )

This place was so very good! Now, the place is rather small and I could see how it would be crowed if a lot of people were inside the place. The customer service we received was the best and came directly from the owner. He is from Mexico City, and I enjoyed the special attention he gave to our margaritas. Being from Texas and having Mexican a lot, I can say that I've been missing out on the real stuff. You must go and give it a try!
