It is a very pleasant experience to dine here. The open kitchen is well designed and the space is elegant.
We had the large tasting menu, which was occasionally very good but too often it was just not special enough to be memorable.
Nonetheless it was still a decent dinner.

Hofmann is a restaurant located in the center of Barcelona, the main city in Catalonia. It is a cooking school and it has a Michelin Star, so we came here to have dinner a degustation menu with 3 different wines. In the staff there are almost all students and you can see how they try to explain and do very well all. It is very nice and interesting. We ate a selection of starters and two first dishes with cava, two dishes (one with vegetables and mushrooms and the other one with fish) with a white wine, and a main dish with lamb and a red wine. Also, we ate a dessert and petit fours. It was excellent. A fantastic school of cooking. Very recommendable.

This was our first time dining at a Michelin starred restaurant. The menu appealed to me because I’m not a very ambitious eater, and the menu seemed very approachable. Our server was wonderful (can’t remember his name, but he has been at Hofmann for 22 years). We enjoyed him so much. The other servers were equally as professional. The room is quiet and minimalistic, and you can observe the talented chefs working on our meal behind the glass wall. We had a starter, main, and dessert, with a glass of wine to enjoy. We were there close to 2 hours. It was a lovely experience. We shall return.

First of all, the menu is so vague so you expect something totally different than what you’re getting half the time. This last time I went, only one of the 5 things we ordered was actually really good and it was the lamb carré. Not to mention it took so long for our plates to be ready and we were literally the first people there for the lunch shift (so we were the only ones there for a good 35 minutes if not more). The best thing about this place is the tall and skinny waiter (I think he also has long hair); he is so sweet and kind.
The Hoffman chain is all overrated in my opinion.

Going to a Michelin star restaurant you always arrive with elevated expectations. In this case, they were not completely fulfilled. The food was - needless to say - very good, but the service was very uneven. Upon arrival no aperitif was offered, and when the first plate arrived, still no sign of a wine list. I had to ask the waiter if wine was served, which was confirmed. I asked if there was a wine pairing menu for the tasting menu, which apparently there wasn't. Somewhat surprising for a Michelin star.
The wine list, once it finally arrived, was 70% sold out. Perhaps not surprising given the toll the Covid crisis has taken on the restaurants, but rather than presenting a wine list with a "no" in front of most of the wines, printing a new would would give a better impression.
After having ordered a bottle of white wine which I believed would work with all of the seven courses, it was left in the ice bucket by the waiter. For three of the courses, the glass was left empty.

Service was excellent and food was interesting at the least. Some very tasty, some not that much. Oyster was a killer - literally. Those on our party having the seven course dinner with this specific oyster dish got very sick, and personally, I needed hospital care and heavy anthibiotics. When I informed the reastaurant what happened, they just bluntly replied that some-one already told them that - not a slightest apologize was made. So Michelin star is not a full quarantee of quality, not the healthiness of the foor or the customer service of the management.

The food here was very tasty but as expectations were set very high we land on a ‘4’. I expected more surprises from a taste point of view. Overall very good though and a plus for the fairly quick pace. No extensive wait between dishes

My daughter rate 1/10. My wife 3/10. It’s average for me. They told us it’s open over 40 years, we want to try Michelin restaurant on Monday and Hofmann is the only open nearby.
Food is no surprise and only remarks is it’s kitchen behind the window.
Service is cold.
Maybe Monday is not a good time to visit.

Arrived about 8:30. Great service: Eric and Felipe were hospitable and super easy to chat with. Food was fantastic: fish with morels was our favorite. We are from Atlanta, Ga and while there are some great restaurants in the ATL, our trip here is very special. Wine, service, food and a solid atmosphere.

Service was exceptional, they provide the real “show” you expect with a Michelin starred restaurant. Enjoyed the tasting menu and while the quality of the dishes was very good it did not quite meet my (admittedly very high) expectations. That said, definitely worth another visit.

We were staying in a hotel near this restaurants and walked about two blocks to get there. It was a one star Michelin rated restaurant and our meals were representative of this rating. The dining was wonderful from snack to appetizer to main course to desert. The quality of the food was as good as it gets and the price was reasonable. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice.

Absolutely recommend. The food was amazing 10/10. The staff super nice and passionate people. The atmosphere 10/10. Excellent vibes and the wine was one of the best Rioja I have tried. A must in Barcelona !

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. We had the taster menu with the wine pairing, an incredible dining experience, the chefs there are really talented, and the service was amazing, we felt like royalty.

Wonderful lunch!
Excellent service with lovely food well presented, great wine. Loved the experience of dining at the college seeing the students in the kitchen. Very much recommend this for a high quality, good value experience. Staff know how to deliver excellent customer service.
