Taberna Casa Pedro Ximénez comes highly recommended for its authentic flavors and hearty meals, with many guests commending the restaurant's value. While some visitors experienced smaller portions and pricing discrepancies, the majority are pleased with the generous servings. The service generally earns praise for being welcoming and professional, though there have been rare mentions of inattentiveness. Patrons love the classic ambiance and rooftop views, but a few note that the experience can be less relaxing when the staff appears stressed.

We ended up at this restaurant because we had just arrived, hungry, and couldn't wait til the 8:00-8:30 opening time of other restaurants. Lucky choice. There were other early diners, so we weren't alone. Our server was friendly and attentive and even advised me when I was ordering too much food! We had a marisco salad, Russian salad, and the rabo de toro (ox tail) with a local wine and it was all very good and reasonably priced. Recommended.

Lovely food and wine, we were impressed that Sami our waiter recommended a great white wine which could have been really expensive but when the bill came it was only €13.50 ! Very impressive that in the centre of the tourist area we were treated so well and not ripped off. I only knocked one star off because a) there was no toilet paper in the loo and b) the menu was short on vegetables to accompany the delicious oxtail and Iberian pork cheeks. We had a salad with it in the end but whilst the salad would have been a meal on its own (jam packed with cheeses and nuts) just to be able to order vegetables or a side salad would have enhanced the meal. Make sure you book ahead for a seat on the stunning terrace as inside is quite ordinary .

I really quite enjoyed this cute little restaurant situated in a traditional home - food was very fresh, reasonably priced, and a very special selection of local wines and liquors. The service was warm, staff knowledgeable, and left us with a great first impression of Cordoba, as it was our first meal there. Juan in particular was especially helpful, explaining some of the history behind the dishes, as well as introducing us to a wine which we loved so much, we went to the winery itself 2 days later.

We ordered several tapas which sadly were rather bland in taste and quite highly priced. That however could be excused with our meal choices and the location of the restaurant. What really bothered us was that the second half of our tapas took almost an hour to arrive at our table despite the restaurant not appearing to be overly busy. During this time our waiter never informed us about any delays or offered any excuses or free snacks to keep our Hunger at bay. When we finally asked for the bill we were informed that the food was “just about to be served”. It then took another 5 minutes for the food to arrive. Given that all dishes were simply fried food items this left us wondering whether they just forgot our order and then quickly prepared it once we asked. Either way this was easily our most disappointing meal in Spain and we do not recommend this place, as much as we would like to.

I have no complaints about the food - 4* - but it was comically difficult to get served. I came early evening for Spain (8pm), so I think there was only me and two other tables eating while I was there, and the restaurant appeared fully staffed (the waiters outnumbered the customers at this time) but they seemed to retreat to the kitchen, chatting to each other. I expect they raise their game later when the restaurant is full of locals, but it did spoil the meal. I came mostly to order some eponymous Pedro Ximinez, which I love, with a nice desert but eventually gave up and asked for the bill with my main course 3/4 eaten having been unable to order anything with or after it for about 20 minutes, and the staff still didn’t have the intuition that there may have been a problem. Disappointed.

We were attracted by the amazing reviews for this place but it didn't quite fulfil its promise. We had a nice spot by the window at first but changed tables to be further away from the loud radio music (more what you'd expect in a bar). It was only us and another couple inside for lunch but the waiters would alternate to come and check in on us every few minutes (which felt rather nervous) until the meal was served - after that we were left to our own devices and in the end, we went looking for them so we could pay and leave. The food was good (no complaints there), simple and no-frills.

Stumbled across this restaurant on our first day in Cordoba at around 6.30 when many others seemed to be closed. Menu was extensive, food arrived quickly and was delicious. Juan was very attentive and despite our lack of any Spanish vocabulary, we managed to order well. The calamari was well received, the salad was generous and beautifully presented and the patatas with a hot sauce were divine - definitely order more than you think you can eat! With bread and croquettes, we were completely full with no room for dessert. With beers and a bottle of wine and water, our bill for 4 came to just under €70 which we felt was great value, given the high quality of the food and service. There was a lovely authentic ambience to the restaurant and it was air conditioned - what more could you ask for when trying to escape the heat?

We stopped at the restaurant for lunch, the restaurant was empty and we were waiting to be attended for at least 15 minutes while the young waiters were joking with each other, ignoring us completely ... After that time we were attended but always with lacking of professionalism and friendliness. The only positive thing was the food, which was very well prepared and cooked. With so many good restaurants in Cordoba, this is one that I do not recommend at all!

The Cordoba experience embraces cuisine at its best, and with no demeaning comments intended to all of the establishments we have been, for there are none to give given all have surpassed themselves to make our stint a memorable one, we as a travelled quartet always try to make our last evening one to remember over and above. Taberna Casa Pedro Ximenez gets a tip of the hat for its epicurean gastronomy, located inside Cordoba’s historic quarter, of classical architecture and antediluvian embrace, thus testament of its past. Waiting upon our party of four the evening of 29th October was Sami, who made our dining experience a pleasure to behold, with our gratitude to the chefs that made this possible of course. He was exceptionally courteous and even closed the adjoining window upon our request when the chill of the night required it so. The service was superb, the victuals on point to see platters scraped clean as they were retired, and the touch of Ximenez dessert wine on the house really topped it off when sweet time came. To recommend this fine restaurant goes unsaid; just go and be enthused by their quality. Passion is the key to success; tres bien 👍👍👍

Oh my. What a find this place is. Around the corner from the cathedral. Looks basic but pleasant from outside but the food and the service was anything but basic! We had prawn and octopus potato salad and a tomato salad with mackerel. That was a meal in itself. The quality and the freshness was proper lush. For mains we had tuna (grilled rare) and octopus with a mashed mango and banana chips. Simply define. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this place. Bottle of cava and a large bottle of water we left pleasantly full (complimentary glass of sherry too... it's just like drinking sticky toffee pudding) all for 73 euros... would have been happy to have paid double and eaten half.... yes it was really that good 😁

Food was very pleasant and the waiter Sami was very friendly . There was just something about the ambience that left us feeling slightly disappointed. Maybe it was the rave reviews that had raised my expectations too much. I had the blood pudding and steak tartare my wife the goats cheese and cream followed by duck all of which were very pleasant. My only Criticism was that Sami was too fast taking our drinks away at the end of each course. The rasin wine at the end of dinner was delicious . I would recommend a visit to sample Some creative cooking and make your own mind up anout the ambiance

Our BEST meal experience in Córdoba, must try!! Everything was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth delicious. We would have loved to sit in the rooftop, but it was raining earlier in the day. Nevertheless wonderful experience. We got the Oxtail, Pork cheek, croquettes, and Caprese salmon salad. Our favorites were the pork cheek and Oxtail. Also got the tiramisu for dessert, very yummy. Our server Juan went above and beyond to make us comfortable and accommodate us when we were in a rush! We speak very little spanish, and he helped us call a taxi and even walked us to the pickup spot in the rain and waited with us until it came. We went to a multitude of other restaurants in Córdoba, but this one just has unbeatable food and service, could not recommend this place more.

Luckily for us, my husband and I happened upon this restaurant last night. We were quite early, around 7.00/7.30 and the only diners there at that time which in no way detracted from our dining experience. The waiting staff were quite simply charming and helpful. The food - I had pork fillet and the best ratatouille I've ever tasted and my husband had baby lamp chops which came with roast peppers and parementier-sized chips - was absolutely to die for. Everything was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. I also had a large glass of wine and to finish a glass of sweet PX wine and my husband had a Cerveza and a cafe con leche. Our bill came to just shy of E40.00. Great value, we thought. We will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family who are likely to visit Cordoba in the future and if we ever come back, CPX will be a must on the list.

I had to double check that I was reviewing the right restaurant because our experience here was certainly not 5*! The restaurant had just opened and was not remotely busy when we were shown to a table. After at least 15 minutes of being ignored (we were not even asked what we would like to drink) we managed to attract the attention of the girl who had shown us to our table who informed us she didn't take orders and we would have to wait for her colleague to come over. Another 5 minutes later he deigned to appear and we placed our order for two racions and bread with a view to maybe having more. The calamari was extremely tough and chewy - we left half of it. The shrimp fritters whilst tasty enough were expensive for the small portion we received. Decided not to order more and asked for the bill. Surly waiter brought it over clearly not happy that we were disappointed with the food. We never did get the bread we'd ordered and (accidentally)paid for.
