Bodega Mezquita. Tavern- traditional restaurant located in the Jewish quarter, close to MEzquita Catedral of Cordoba. An exceptional place where you can taste the best plates and tapas of cordovan gastronomy. Family business which we initiated our path in the 60s, is one of the favourite establishments as people from Cordoba as visitor from our city, when they want enjoy of authentic cordovan tapeo and best wines from our land. Cuisine which is made with traditional method, is essence of Andalucian gastronomic culture, with the best products from the rich cordovan land: Iberian ham, sheep cheese and meat from Valle de Los Pedroches, olive oil virgin extra, fortified wine from Montilla Moriles... As could not be otherwise, our specialities are: the famous Salmorejo Cordobes, Berenjenas a la miel, Flamenquin and Rabo de Toro. Situated at one corner of the Mezquita in Cordoba's old quarter, the friendly staff serve very good tapas and house wine at very good value for money. There's a good selection of cold, hot and also gluten-free tapas around the 3 - 4 euro mark and a 500ml carafe of house red or white costs just over 5 euro. Clean and bright inside, I can imagine it would be busy at the height of the tourist season. As I vistied in February, there were plenty of tables available.

I really enjoyed the whole experience here. I was early to arrive and was welcomed by my waiter Abel and he explained the menu options perfectly. I ordered 4 tapas and a carafe of the house redt wine, which was very pleasant and very reasonable in price. I started with a nice fino as an aperitif and Abel selected a nice cold and tasty one. My tapas were 2 different types of croqutte, an oxtail and a ham. Both were very good. I also had a beautiful roast pepper, tuna and egg salad. And then my favourite of the meal was a portion of chipiriones, cooked in garlic and oil. They were excellent. The chef, Sole, did an excellent job. I finished up with a strong Olorosso that Abel again recommended. Great location under the walls of the old mosque. I'd recommend it highly.

After a long day in Granada we ate here at about 10.15: the place was bright, full of a good number of people, and you can see why this chain is popular: The staff are friendly, the food is well cooked, and well priced; there’s lots of variety on the menu and options re - plate size, and good wine by the glass. And we were I introduced to an incredible drink freebie at the end, a Cordoban speciality 50:50 fino and sweet ximenez sherry, try it when you get home. Hasta pronto!

Very close to the Mezquita and one of a number of branches, this tapas bar lacked some "old world" character but was very clean, and had incredible cheerful and helpful staff. All the food was excellently presented and looked both clean and wholesome, which sounds obvious, but is not always the case with tapas. The salmorejo was really excellent, as was the tortilla, again, another one that can be truly messed up. Fried foods were light and not too oily, which at lunchtime is a real bonus as a heavy stodgy meal can ruin an afternoon! As is the case in this part of the world, price is very low compared to the quality of everything. There was even a complimentary sherry digestif afterwards which was very well received :)

We had a couple of days in Cordoba and went here twice, so that tells you something. We liked it partly because it had a very convenient location, right beside the Mezquita, but mostly because we really enjoyed the food.
It is a popular place, with a large number of tables and a bright, modern decor. You can also perch up at the bar, which we did the first time. The next time we sat at a table. It was very busy but they found us a spot after a short wait. In particular, we liked the calamari which came piping hot in a paper cone and the delicious Iberian pork stew (so good). Service was efficient, servings were generous, prices were reasonable and food was delicious.

Awesome restaurant. The food was excellent and so fresh. The squid dish tasted like it was fresh out of the ocean and the chicken and goats cheese salad was the best. The wine was also fabulous. What really added to our experience was the service - Andrei spoke great English ( as our Spanish is limited to hola and gracias) and he was lots of fun. He was very helpful in recommending dishes we may like to try and selecting a beaut dry white to accompany our meal. We finished with a house speciality consisting of a mix of the fortified red (sherry?) and a dry white - delicious. You can’t go wrong choosing to dine at Bodegas Mezquita

We had a great lunch in Bodegas Mezquita. We were served by Rafael, a very friendly waiter, who advised us very well selecting the right food from the extensive menu.
The salad was fabulous and the rest was also very tasty.
We definitively recommend this restaurant and waiter Rafael.

We ate here on a balmy evening in October. We sat outside and although it is right by the road it is not busy and it was fun to watch the walkers, joggers and scooters go by. We had an excellent waiter - Dave, who was friendly, helpful and recommended an excellent and very reasonably priced wine. Thanks for helping make our dinner even better!
We were not rushed and enjoyed all the fab food. The tuna in mojito sauce is delicious!

My server Fran was outstanding! I ordered the Gaspacho soup and asked him if this dish originated in Andalusia, which he confirmed, but then explained the difference between it and the more traditional Salmorejo, and then offered me a complimentary sample to compare the two soups. It was a thoughtful gesture, very much appreciated.

Big thanks to Lucia, Lucia is a great helper and support us to choose our wonderful lunch at this nice place.
Me and my wife were struggle little bit about where to eat, and once we teach there Lucia just explained to us the menu and we could select a nice food.
Place is very nice, food is so delicious, and staff specially Lucia are very cheerful and supportive.
Coming back for sure

The moment we arrived without a reservation on a busy Saturday, we felt welcomed and the host was accommodating and told us our table will be ready shortly. He also offered his tablet to read the menu since we did not have internet service. The food was 5 star, ambiance was 5 star and service was 5 star, especially Monica who could not be more delightful and helpful during our visit.

We went out for a relaxing dinner with friends and arrived five minutes after the booked time. The menu was only available on phones via QR code and not particularly easy to navigate. However, after ten minutes we had managed to work out what to order and the food arrived amazingly quickly. It was well presented, good quality Spanish food but rather than a relaxing meal it was like eating on a production line! Before ordering deserts we asked for a break and much to our surprise were presented with the bill as they had booked the table out for another sitting. Rather than a relaxing evening out we found ourselves back on the pavement little more than an hour after our arrival. We also booked to eat in the patio area which by Cordoba standards was a little soulless and solely frequented by tourists.

We appreciate your comments on the promptness and quality of our food, though we understand that the pace of service did not contribute to the tranquil setting you desired.
We would like to apologize if the management of table times was not clearly communicated. At Bodegas Mezquita, as is common in many Spanish restaurants, tables are typically booked in blocks of an hour and a half to ensure that we can accommodate all our guests, especially on busy evenings. We understand that this may differ from practices in other countries and appreciate your understanding.
We are working to improve our communication about the time available per reservation and to make our patio area more welcoming and authentic, moving away from an experience that may feel solely aimed at tourists.
Thank you for your candid feedback, as it helps us to improve these aspects. We hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a more relaxed and satisfying experience in the future.

If Cordoba food is like this I am going to move here tomorrow and we get Rafael to take us on a food adventure around the city. This restaurant offers unbelievably good food in a central lovely setting with the best service around. Thank you very much Córdoba. Thank you Bodega Mezquita Corregidor. It was an amazing experience tonight.

Came here after a day of site seeing in Cordoba. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the service is phenomenal. Our waiter was Javier DC and he was very personable and kind. He took the time to go through the menu with us and made recommendations as we are not native Spanish speakers and also vegetarian. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back.

It was our wedding anniversary and we were delighted with our choice of restaurant . Fran, our waiter, was excellent. Friendly and personable. We both enjoyed our choices especially the cod with oranges and crispy chicken with bacon salad, honey and mustard .
