Hotel Madinat is widely celebrated for its prime location and the high level of cleanliness that guests enjoy. Its unique charm and inviting atmosphere are consistently acknowledged, with travelers enjoying the comfort of the rooms and the thoughtful touches throughout. The rooftop terrace, with its stunning views, and the exceptional service provided by attentive staff are particularly popular. However, some guests feel the hotel's pricing is steep considering the room size and privacy issues.

Had a lovely three night stay at Hotel Madinat. I was extremely pleased with all of the elements of my stay:

1. The location is stellar
2. The rooms are spacious and quiet
3. The service is exemplary
4. The recommendations regarding where to dine were spot on

I’d like to draw specific attention to an incident that occurred my last morning. I had mis-remember some details about my departure and needed to leave a couple hours earlier than I had expected. I had sent out to have my clothes cleaned the night before and was worried that they might not make it back to the hotel in time. The folks working the desk made a special trip to the laundry service to hand deliver my clothes.

Highly recommended.

One point to be aware of: If you end up taking the bus to get to the hotel, there isn’t good signage. Look for the signs for the Pension el Portillo which will get you on the right street and then keep going.

This is such a lovely boutique hotel right in the old city of Cordoba. It is beautifully decorated, immaculate, and they have thoughtful details added along the way: a welcome drink of lemonade, homemade chocolates in the room, a small bundle of dried flowers on the bed, etc. The breakfast has choices of anything you could want and includes delicious pastries that I wasn't familiar with. Check in was a breeze with Paloma. The only thing you need to be aware of is if you are driving in, parking is rather tricky. Since it's the old city with narrow cobblestone streets, you have to park in a garage which is near, but we had a hard time finding it. Not a reason to shy away, just be aware. A very nice policeman stopped when we looked completely lost and we followed him there!

We had an amazing experience at Hotel Madinat. Paloma checked us in and went over and above to make sure that we had everything that we needed. We stayed in the Hamama suite and I can not fault it - it was absolutely perfect and there is so much small attention to detail throughout the room and in the hotel. The hotel feels like a spa, as soon as you walk in you feel relaxed and it smells amazing !

My only regret is that we didn’t get to spend longer in the room - there is so much to see in Cordoba that one night at Hotel Madinat wasn’t long enough !

We received a very warm and thoughtful welcome from Christian when we checked in for our visit. The entire staff provides high level service from the manager to the maids. There was a sweet welcome gift of chocolate truffles and apricots in our room at arrival and our room was first rate with tasteful décor, very high ceilings, plaster architectural detail, a high quality bed, high quality linens and an exceptionally large tiled bottom bathtub. Also, our breakfasts which were made to our order by the kitchen staff and taken to the roof top deck to eat was another example of the very high level hospitality service that we experienced at this excellent hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights in Jan 2020. We had two adjacent rooms. Each room has its own name with an explanation of what it means, why that name was chosen. The decor was unique and lovely in both rooms.
The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable.
We were welcomed with juice and sweets and the staff provided a detailed explanation on major sights, including info about opening hours. They also recommended several restaurants in the area.
The hotel is located in a beautiful area of the old town, within walking distance to all the major sites.
Breakfast is delicious, there are lots of choices. Great coffee and juices, fruit. You can order eggs as you like them.
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The combination of location, decor, friendly, helpful staff and excellent food make it just perfect!

Wonderful place to spend a couple of days in Cordoba. Walking distance to most of the main tourist spots and restaurants. Roof deck was an awesome bonus and a great place for some vino at the end of the day to take in the night lights and a view of the cathedral. Manssour was a gracious host and was extremely accomodating to anything we requested (The same could not be said for his counterpart). My only gripe and the reason for the 4 vs. 5 star rating is that the property claimed it had AC but....the folks running the place didn't have it on and our room was very warm in the afternoons as it had the afternoon sun beam on it. My requests to have it turned on were ignored. Don't claim you have something and then not make it available.

Madinat hotel was my favorite in South of Spain. I was welcomed by a very nice receptionist, the welcome drink was a freshly pressed orange juice that was delicious. The room was very lovely and I slept super well. They have a roof top with an amazing view over the city. I had something to drink from the bar here while waiting for the hammam to be ready. The hammam was such a cute place and they provided delicious Moroccan tea and cakes. Highly recommended! The whole experience was very nice and both receptionists were very helpful and kind. The location is perfect as well as the design of the hotel. Well done Madinats team. It was a pleasure.

Our stay at Hotel Madinat left us with mixed feelings. While the location was indeed ideal, offering easy access to the city's attractions, the overall experience did not match the hefty price tag.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and appreciated the assistance in booking a restaurant. However, the positives ended there. Our room, though clean, fell short in several aspects. The noise from other guests was disruptive, and the gaps around the door only exacerbated the issue.

The bed, advertised as a double, was a disappointment considering the premium we paid. We expected a king-size bed for the price. Additionally, the room fittings appeared to be of poor quality, with an over-reliance on IKEA products. The shower experience was particularly frustrating, requiring a delicate balance of hot and cold taps to achieve the desired temperature.

On a brighter note, the AC provided relief from the heat and operated quietly.

In conclusion, while Hotel Madinat may offer convenience in terms of location, the overall value proposition leaves much to be desired. For the same price, guests can likely find better quality accommodations outside the city center and use the savings to cover transportation costs.

Our stay at the Hotel Madinat was nothing short of perfection. The room was exquisitely comfortable and luxurious (including an en-suite bathtub), and the location of the hotel was perfectly situated to explore the old quarter of the neighborhood. The hospitality at the hotel was wonderful, and the managers (Raul in particular) were so kind and considerate and helpful. The linens were very thick and plush, and there was such attention to detail with the amenities, such as a welcome drink with some candies, and very thoughtful touches in the room decor.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody and am sad that I can't stay longer!

We stayed for eleven nights during the Festival of Patios in May 2024.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town and is a converted traditional mansion house with a central patio. Many of the original features remain.

We were welcomed by Paloma, who gave us an overview of the facilities and local area. All of the reception staff were extremely helpful.

Our room was situated on the first floor at the front of the building. The room was immaculate and had been well prepared before our arrival. The large bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linen was changed daily. The main feature of the room was a large tiled bath, which also contained a shower unit. We made good use of this facility.

One observation regarding the room would be that there was nowhere to store our clothes, other than half a dozen hangers for shirts, jackets etc. As we were staying for an extended period, we found ourselves literally living out of our suit cases for the whole period.

We made use of the roof terrace on several occasions. The view across the old part of the city was amazing.

Breakfast was served in a small dining area, which when busy was a bit tight for room. The food service area in particular we found rather cramped at times. The breakfast offerings were typical of the area and generally good.

Overall, we found this hotel to be of a good standard. Well situated and within easy reach of the main attractions in the old town.

However, we paid a premium price for our room and for the facilities available, I felt the hotel was somewhat over priced for what was on offer.

I checked just now and did not encounter any problem accessing the hotel website either. You could try writing to them at their email address. (TripAdvisor won't let me include it here.). They did answer me when I wrote earlier this year before our trip in May. It really is a beautiful and atmospheric place, run by a young, energetic and very committed team.
