I stayed here for a week and had a lovely time. The hotel was SUPER convenient, the desk people (especially Nick) were a real joy to talk to, the bedding and towels were clean, once the shower had had a few minutes to heat up it was lovely and hot, and the little mini-heater in our room was a lovely touch as even on the FREEZING days outside we could get dressed in front of it or pop it on for as long as we liked to warm up the room.
The only downside was that the walls were very thin, so we could hear other guests coming and going (some of them very rude and loudly), but we did so much during the day that we conked our at night and once asleep it never woke us. The TV was also slightly staticky and limited in channels, but we didn’t come here to stay in the room so that didn’t matter.
All in all a wonderful price to be so close to Times Square, and I’d definitely stay here again.

Hello and thank you for staying with us here at the Doxie hotel, we truly do appreciate your business. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the convenience of the hotel along with our guest serves agent nick. Who was happy to hear these wonderful compliments. The housing keeping staff will always marvel in the compliments of their work as well. We do understand and apologize deeply about the thin wall issue. We are currently in the process of fixing this issue as the hotel is still undergoing additional changes and tweaks. The tv issues are also currently be fixed as this is an issue with the cable provider as they are currently expanding their service area. We hope we do get a chance to visit us again after these changes so you can truly 100 percent enjoy your self. Also, we do offer discounts to repeat guests. Thank you again

Pros: Great location with easy eats nearby, nice front desk folks. Cons: Cheap poor quality uncomfortable mattresses, water took at minimum 20 minutes to get lukewarm, garage band playing through thin walls several nights of our stay, room heater melted & we didn't feel comfortable using it. You get what you pay for, we've made a note not to stay here again.

Hello, and thank you for staying with us here at the Doxie hotel we truly appreciate your business. However, we are both shocked and saddened to hear that you did not enjoy your stay, As part of your renovation, we have acquired new mattresses ranging from soft to firm as everyone experiences comfort differently. We always suggest that guests speak with the front desk agent immediately about their comfort So that we may fix the issue. As noted we are located in the heart of midtown manhattan, mean we are surrounded by many other business which the hotel has no control over. That being said one of these building act as drumming studio for under privilege youth twice a week other times it is empty. We would still like to apologize for this discomfort and hope you give us another chance in the future. Thank you again for staying with us.

disgusting. gross. dirty. i checked in to my room and was completely ripped off. the windows are blocked. no view. the decorations are old and outdated and not like pictured. and last but certainly not least a pubic hair was found on my toilet. i had a reservation and on my way out the door the front desk was unattended so i decided to call and see if we could resolve the issue. i was told that i should’ve said something before i left and in order for the problem to be resolved i would have to leave my reservation immediately. then, i was hung up on. very professional right? eventually the issue was resolved and we were upgraded to a “nicer” room. which still had hair in the shower and strange stains under the bedding. i slept very uncomfortably not only because i knew it was dirty but because the walls are so think i was constantly being woken up by noises coming from outside of the room. DO NOT BOOK

After reading a lot of reviews for this hotel, before and after we had booked, we were honestly expecting the worst. Not sure if our low expectations helped, but we were more than pleasantly surprised on arrival and with our overall stay. We stayed for 9 nights in total. The room was basic, but you get what you pay for and this hotel is an absolute bargain compared to others in NYC. The location was amazing! A couple minute walk from Madison Square Garden, a few minute walk from Times Square, couple of minute walk from the nearest subway station etc. I was amazed how quiet the hotel was considering the central location. The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. Our room was cleaned every 2 days, with fresh bedding and towels. The shower was great, hot water any time of day and good water pressure. We would definitely stay again if we were ever to travel to NYC in future – which we plan on doing so 😊

My boyfriend and I came here for a NYC "staycation" during COVID19. We were immediately impressed with the staff, particularly David, Shoia (hope I spelled that right) and of course, Nick!

We loved our cozy queen sized room and found the amount of space perfect. The bed was comfortable and the rain shower was amazing. Our room looked just like the first photo of featured rooms on this site. We were given an electric tea kettle to boil water and loved having a mini fridge in our room. Most hotels, at this price point, don't offer such great amenities.

You can't ask for a better location in all of NYC. The hotel is steps away from Times Square and tons of public transportation options. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or to out of town guests. Thank you, Doxie Hotel, for your warm hospitality and some great memories in very trying time for NYC. You guys are amazing!!

We book this hotel because they were able to accommodate 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids). We arrive early in the day so we weren’t able to check in but they offered to take our bag. When they took our bags they advised us that there was an issue with the room we booked and they would have to put us in two rooms. Not that big of deal but we were hoping for one room.

Came back to check in to the hotel and there was some questionable people there who seemed like they were booking a room for an hour. This didn’t sit well with us as we have young child with us. We decided to give it a try and check out the rooms. First the elevator is so small that 2 of us took the elevator while the rest of our party dragged their bags up the stairs. We get to our rooms and they were awful. Both rooms were small, the floors were dirty, our bathroom door didn’t work. The pictures online are deceiving, the rooms look modern and updated where they are anything but.

We decided that we didn’t want to stay. We spoke to the front desk lady and then a gentleman who I’m guessing was the manager and he told us he would see what he could do. He then came to our room to offer us all one free breakfast and we were like no thank you we weren’t interested in staying. He then left and said he would look into it again.
When he came to our room the second time he told us we would get our money back but hotels.com (the rooms has be booked through hotel.com) would have to call the hotel to process that. Then he said we would have to leave the premises as he would be using the rooms we were in for other guest.

So we contact hotels.com, got our return and packed out stuff up and left the hotel asap! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! Spend the little bit extra and stay anywhere else!

owner of the hotel keeps claiming that I did not stay at his hotel, so I’ve attached proof to my review! absolutely do NOT book this hotel. the options to get to our room on the 4th floor were a filthy stairwell or an elevator only barely large enough to hold one person with luggage. we arrived to our room and there was a bug smushed into the wall. we went back to the lobby and they switched our room with no issue. the room was much smaller than pictured, pictures on the website must be taken with a wide angle lens because the room was no bigger than a college dorm room. when we got to the second room, there was bugs smushed into the headboard and bed. There was rips and burn holes inside of the drawers and around the wallpaper. there was no mattress cover on any of the mattresses in either of the rooms. we went downstairs and spoke with the owner, told him we found bedbugs in a second room and that we were not comfortable staying at the hotel. he was very rude, stated that the bugs found in the videos “were not bed bugs,” and that we could leave and get a refund through the website we booked on. when contacting hotels.com, we were only able to get a refund if the owner approved it, which he denied because he told them we were provided with a clean room the second time when this was not the case. I had to dispute with my bank to get the money back. I did not see evidence of a single other guest staying at the hotel, nor did I see any housekeepers in the hallways, just dirty cleaning carts that look like they haven’t been touched in years. if you value cleanliness, do not stay at this hotel!!!

The pictures do not look anything like they advertise. The room was not well maintained and smaller than the advertisements. Doors broken, stains on the carpet, and scotch tape holding falling pieces together. Might as well be no window because the one window was tiny and looked straight into the side of another building. We thought the only thing that might give this hotel a chance is the people who worked up front that were very friendly, but when we left our luggage in there storage and came back for it, my girlfriend had $100 missing from her backpack. Plenty of better options to stay at than here.

My wife and I took our 4 daughters to NYC and stayed in the Deluxe Suite! The room was big for NY standards. It included two queen beds and a twin over full bunk bed. The bunk bed is in a separate room that opens up to the main room via a pocket door. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The location was perfect for sight seeing and close to times square and the subways. The staff was also very accommodating. On top of all that this was an amazing value! I cant wait to come back!

Location is central without having to be in the obnoxious times square hubbub.Check in was simple (and early) with friendly staff. My bathroom toilet had a minor issue and the maintenance woman quickly arrived and fixed it with a sense of humor. I was on the first floor and had no street noise at all. A/C unit worked well and was quiet. some scaffolding outside building so no curbside appeal - but its NY- where isnt there scaffold? Gyanna was reception member I had the most contact with and she was always helpful and friendly. My room was a single (queen) and felt like a cozy dorm room. Perfect for 1. Bathroom was clean and good water pressure and temps.
