Nestled on a secluded bluff overlooking the majestic North Shore of Kauai, The Cliffs at Princeville offers quiet tranquility and all the comforts of home. The Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, with unimpeded views of breathtaking sunrises and sunsets each day. Just offshore, whales and turtles swim by, as perfect wave sets crash against the reef below.

Enjoy the beauty of nature and commune with visiting nene from Adirondack chairs surrounded by coconut palms. A hammock strategically placed along the ocean’s edge is the perfect vantage point for whale watching. Venture out for adventure on the North Shore and return to enjoy pau hana cocktails, while grilling with friends or family. During the day, The Cliffs at Princeville offers a wealth of amenities, from the waterfall pool, to tennis and pickleball courts, putting greens, and local food trucks that visit regularly.

Year after year, the Cliffs is recognized for its commitment to green, powering more than half of its rooms with solar energy. With sustainability practices that align with UN pillars, the resort is committed to preserving the natural beauty surrounding it for generations to come.

The Cliffs at Princeville is celebrated by guests for its spacious rooms, complete with ocean views and balconies, although attention to maintenance and cleanliness has been inconsistent. Nestled in a serene location, the hotel offers proximity to Kauai's northern attractions, with an atmosphere enhanced by high ceilings and ocean vistas. While the staff generally receives compliments for their friendliness and responsiveness, some visitors have had less than stellar interactions at the front desk. Additional fees have led to concerns about the hotel's value.

The Cliffs resort is quiet and beautiful. Both the facilities and grounds are well maintained. Personnel were friendly and helpful. Those wanting to be on the north side of Kauai, The Cliff Resort is ideal.

Try to get the room that tends to get a breeze through the windows or else you will use the really loud fans provided. It is also good that they provide small packets for washing clothes inside the room. You can hear the neighbors when you’re in your room. Put the do not disturb sign out if you really don’t need cleaning services. It was nice to have a full kitchen minus having to buy all the condiments and them go to waste because the smallest they have at grocery stores are still too large for a week stay. Use the safe in the room with your own code and just don’t forget it. It was easy to use and helpful. It would have been nice to have some type of view but the nicer area is reserved for the timeshare owners that purchased it there. Keep sandy shoes by front door, makes it easier to keep clean. Another nice thing is that there is a cooler and chairs that you can borrow while you’re vacationing.

Aloha! Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. Yes, our units are full condos with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, stove, etc. We provide full sized toiletries as well as beach chairs and cooler. Yes, the Ocean View units are reserved for our timeshare owners where this is their home resort, and we do not take request for Ocean view units from non-owners. Again, we thank you for taking the time to review your stay. MAHALO

We have stayed at the Cliffs for the last 5 years and we are in the fan club. If what you are seeking is relaxation surrounded by natural beauty, far from the maddening crowd but not far from the beaten path, look no further. The resort is smaller than the big hotel chains and while that means some of the bells and whistles are not on location, the trade off is less congestion, noise and higher prices. The units are exceptionally clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the grounds are lovely, the view is phenomenal and the location is handy to nearby hikes, restaurants and beaches. We never even look for other options after discovering this gem.

Room was facing away from the ocean so no cross breezes that we were told we would experience. Unfortunately if you have an ownership at another location you cannot get the nice rooms facing the ocean. The problem is that there is no AC.

We spent the first 5 nights in front of two big floor fans to try to cool off. Eventually we got used to the oppressive heat.

Swimming pool smells like Chlorine from 100 feet away, so this was not even an option.

Nice place otherwise.

This review needs to be 200 characters, I was going to stop at that. But unless the owners of the place chip in to install Air Conditioning I would stay away during the warm months, which is unfortunately most of the year. Possible when you arrive go to Costco and buy an AC, they have a liberal return policy and you can drop it off when you return to the Airport.

We love Kauai, so the best part of our trip was when we got in our rental car and cranked up the air conditioning and drove to other parts of the island.

The other fun thing about our trip is when we got home we got to tell our friends about our miserable time in the condos. I guess over the years the legend of the vacation where we huddled in front of the two fans will be a funny family story we can tell our grand kids, so I suppose I should be great full for the miserable accommodation we had.

Aloha! Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay here with us. Yes, none of our units have a/c, but as mentioned we do have ceiling and provide floor fans in the units as well. Our guest rely on the trade winds to cool the units by keeping the windows and doors open. We are sorry that you were still a bit warm during your stay. Mahalo.

At the end of December of 2020, during a pandemic, we spent one week at The Cliffs Resort. The property is very well kept up and our room was up-to-date. We had an ocean view room, which I'm sure was due to the lack of tourists at the resort because of the pandemic. At least twice, food trucks come to the resort during dinnertime. This could also be because of the pandemic. One night we were texted a message that a food truck would be there, and the other time it was by chance that we saw a pizza truck there. I think late afternoon food trucks are a good idea since the resort has no restaurant. We purchased food from both of these vendors to support their local business.

We were happy to have beach towels and two beach chairs in our room. My only complaint is that the kitchens are small in The Cliffs Resort.

The resort includes free parking and they charge minimal fees....way less than another timeshare we stayed in the week before we stayed in The Cliffs.

We hope to return The Cliffs Resort in the future.

The best place to stay in Princeville, Kauai, unless you can afford The Regis!
The staff are super friendly and attentive, the facilities are up to date and very well maintained everyday. We ended up buying into this Timeshare location, under no pressure at all, and well under what other Timeshare companies are asking for on the Mainland in Florida or NC. This place is a gem!

I booked there based on the pictures and high ratings so I want to make sure no one else falls into the same situation. I found this place on VRBO or AirBnb, thought wow that looks like a great place. Well reality is it reminded me of my first apartment back in the 80s. Dated furniture, a view of trees and a playground, the absolute worst was the heavily stained carpet. Icky, hire a steamer company or tear that stuff out but to send a guest in there like that shows it is poorly run.
Also the pictures I initially saw when booking had a view of the ocean, loft type, the room we were given was one floor, 2 bath, white kitchen. We were only there one night to start our day in Hanalei. So the location on the north shore is great but the room triggered my asthma, the walls were thin, I could hear plumbing all night long. The bed was not comfortable, I think I got 2 hours of sleep, worst night on the island. Thank goodness for the Hyatt.

This was our first time staying at the Cliffs at Princeville. We really enjoyed our self. We stayed in a one bedroom which had two full baths and it was very accommodating! There was plenty of room. It could’ve slept four although there were only two of us. Quiet location. Two lanai’s. Plenty of outdoor barbecues, a great pool, tennis courts, great location to watch the sunset! We will be back!

This was our first time on the islands. This unit was kind enough to provide beach towels, chairs, cooler, tent, and snorkeling gear for the beach. The accomodations were excellent and there was plenty of room for three adults. The other guests were very friendly and considerate to obey the quiet hours and we were able to get plenty of rest during our stay. We are definitely looking forward to returning.

A well maintained property consisting of nine building located on the north shore of Kaua'i, Hi., overlooking the Pacific ocean. The resort includes an office (for checking in and out), swimming pool, workout room, tennis courts, a kids play area and a spacious "get-together" room.

Note below that the certification states that "... I have no personal business or personal affiliation with this establishment...". But, in fact, I am an owner of three fee simple time share weeks at The Cliffs.
