This is a really good hotel and casino that is on Fremont Street. The room in Carson Tower with king bed was large and comfortable. One highlight was that over 3 1/2 days we never needed to adjust the thermostat. Most rooms seem to swing from too hot to too cold but this one was always just right. Bed linen was very good and the bath linen was good to but the bath towel was shorter than I expected it to be. Soap and Shampoo is a personal favorite. One negative was no hairdryer, very strange given the room rate.

One of my favorite features is not always available. in the main hall near the registration area is a coffee service with beignets. A cup of good coffee and a bag full for about $7 was a bargain. Not as good as New Orleans but a wonderful treat.

Elevators in the Carson tower are a little sketchy but the problem was reported by several of us.

The restaurants are all good. Addition of Chick-File is very agreeable.

Casino is nice but aren't they all. Wife liked the slots and I enjoyed the blackjack and craps tables. The staff was helpful to me on both. Really liked that the blackjack used traditional shoes and manual shuffles. Just be mindful that the minimum plays and payout for blackjack can change from day to day. Rules are shown at each table so look if this is important to you.

Bottomline is that we will be back.

The Golden Nugget deserves a better location, as the noise from outside causes problems. We initially had a 12th floor Carson Tower room where the constant running of outside fans made sleeping difficult. The next morning we were given a different room on the same floor that was no better. We were then given one on the 4th floor that was okay, apart from the traffic noise outside. It seems car alarms are triggered frequently in the area. None of this is the fault of the hotel or staff; they were excellent!

Hi Bill S, Thank you for your understanding when it comes to the noise levels of Downtown Las Vegas. Although we love our central location, we do admit that it can be a little loud at times. We try to remedy this by providing ear plugs and accommodating room changes, as we did with you, when occupancy allows. Have you tried our other tower locations? You may like them better!

This was a planned vacation with friends for Superbowl in Vegas. We always stayed on the strip but decided to try something new and different near downtown since thats where the Superbowl Party was located. After reading reviews, location and prices we booked our stay at the Golden Nugget. This was our 1st time staying at the GN. We initially booked our flight and upgraded to a Rush Tower Corner Suite through travelocity. We were later notified by GN Director of Operations Martha that no suites were available in the Rush Tower due to maintenance issues. Upon arrival at the GN Martha met us at the front desk. I can't express the sincere and geniune feeling Martha gave us upon arrival. Check in was wonderful and quick and we were pleased with our room even though it was smaller. During our stay at the GN we were very impressed with the friendly casino staff, housekeeping, waitresses, Sportsbook and especially Martha. Martha is a true Gem at the GN (24KT). I almost forgot to mention the Chart House is incredible with the beautiful fish swimming as you wine and dine. We couldn't express enough how it was so easy to forget that we were downtown because the lay out and feel of the GN. Also we were pleasantly surprised how the Carson Tower in which we ended up staying in was smoke free. We've actually paid extra at other hotels on the strip for a smoke free room but could still smell the smoke in the hallways and the rooms. This was such not the case at the GN.The Golden Nugget is our place to stay in Vegas. See you soon.

We had a group of 20 book to come to Vegas for a friends birthday. Check in was easy but everything to follow seemed to be downhill.

We got to our room and realized there’s no fridge in the rooms which was a let down considering we’d have liked some cold waters every morning and night while in the room. They said it was because of covid but that seems silly to me.

Next we do a pool day and rented cabanas(spent a lot of money doing so) the water was cold(we were told it was heated prior to doing so).

We ate at Vic and Anthony’s as a group and we did enjoy their food.

Trying to get back to any room was a mad house though. Majority of their elevators were down and so wait times to get to all floors or back to
Lobby floor were sometimes 30-45 minutes. Our friend was trying to come down to get in the Uber with us and had to find stairs and ended up on a roof.

Also you must request more towels or toilet paper because of covid maids aren’t entering rooms. We ordered both and never got either one. So we had to use the bathrooms downstairs after waiting for the lobby because we didn’t even have toilet paper.

We had a friend who’s door was closed when he left but came back and his door was wide open, yet “maids aren’t entering rooms” so that seems pretty weird.

My parents come to Vegas numerous times a year and stay at the Golden Nugget along with several friends but I think this will be the last time for each of us to stay there.

We stayed at the Golden Nugget to celebrate my 50th & celebrate recovering from 2 heart attacks. It started badly when upon check in we were told we had an extra £36 per day for our duration of 7 days, £252 resort fee. We had paid for a package and were unaware of this. The fee covers use of terribly slow WiFi, a pool which is closed, a gym which is not 24hrs and 2 bottles of water per day in our room. They would not wave this fee, instead gave us a $50 room credit, which hardly made up for it. Our bedroom was said to be newly upgraded, it wasn’t. No coffee/tea making facilities, very basic room(we had already paid more to upgrade). On the first night we found a bug in our bed, so they moved us after a bit of a struggle. The main problem is the lack of customer service, the staff seem to not care in the slightest, with no one going out of their way to help. This should come from the top and filter down. The whole place was lacking smiles, manners and sincerity. Both myself and my husband are/have been in the service industry and know how easy it is to give a good service. It just wasn’t good enough Golden Nugget, never rest on your laurels, keep the staff motivated, your competition will have us next time.

I have been a loyal customer of the Golden Nugget for approximately 20 years. Every Memorial Day, I head to Vegas for some sun and fun. This year, because of how COVID-19 has severely impacted the hospitality industry, and based on my experiences at other hotels, I expected a few hiccups but received horrible service during my stay at the Golden Nugget.

When I checked in on Monday, May 31st, I was told that housekeeping services had to be ordered a day in advance by reservation. Later that day, I noticed a foul smell coming from the sink and the bathtub was clogged. I sent a text to housekeeping requesting that they clean the room, fix the foul smell and unclog the bathtub. On Wednesday, I went out for a few hours and when I returned, housekeeping had not cleaned the room, fixed the foul smell or unclogged the bathtub and these issues were not fixed during my stay.

Because of the lack of adequate services, I decided to end my stay two days early and called the front desk to notify them of my decision. I was told that I needed to call Priceline in order to request a refund for the two days and resort fees. I called Priceline and they told me that it was up to the hotel. I called the front desk again and spoke with Victor Gonzalez who told me that the hotel would not reimburse me for the two days or the resort fees. On June 22, 2021, I sent a letter to Tilman Fertitta, the Chairman and CEO of Landry's Inc. and copied Brett Keller, CEO of Priceline. I have not heard from Fertitta or any other Landry's representative. However, Priceline sent me a coupon for 20% off my next trip.

Along with the plumbing and housekeeping issues, I also questioned the $30+ resort fee that covers wifi, bottled water, pool admission and parking. During my stay, I drank one bottle of water and did not use the pool. Since July of 2020, I have visited New York and Washington, DC twice. Three out of the four times, I stayed in three star hotels that were much nicer than the Golden Nugget. My last stay was at the InterContinental in New York, which is listed as a 5-star hotel, and it was awesome. I paid significantly less than the Golden Nugget and received daily housekeeping services, a coffeemaker, microwave, streaming services, wifi and paid no resort fees.

I offered Tilman Fertitta the opportunity to make the situation right by asking him to comp me two days during my next visit. Unfortunately, all I've heard is crickets. It is sad and unacceptable that this billionaire owner or his staff cannot or will not take the time to address my complaints. The Golden Nugget is the only 4-star hotel in downtown Las Vegas and I've had blast in the past. And, in terms of full disclosure their restaurant, the Chart House, is wonderful. However, the service I received during my recent stay has caused me to question not only the leadership at the hotel, but the leaders at the top. At least Priceline gave me a 20% discount off my next trip.

Tilman Fertitta, what is your excuse?

I checked in with my family after 11pm on 6/16/21. On entering the room, we were immediately greeted by someone else’s bowel movement in the toilet, along with hair stuck to the bathroom door and dirt in the bathtub. We requested housekeeping, and took our boys out for a quick glimpse of Fremont street. Upon returning to our room, housekeeping had been kind enough to open our room door and set a toilet brush right inside, right next to our open suitcases. We requested housekeeping again, and were asked by customer service if we wanted to switch rooms. I did not want to load up my kids and our luggage after midnight, I just wanted our bathroom cleaned. After making my request again, a member of housekeeping did come to the room and clean the bathroom for us.
The pool was beautiful, but frustratingly expensive, as you could only bring bottled water with you, and were required to purchase all other drinks at the pool bar, $6 for a large soda and $30/a bucket of 6 domestic beers. I understand making a profit, but this is excessive.
On the second day of our 6 day stay, we requested to rent a mini fridge. One was quickly delivered to our room. It froze every drink we placed in it, no matter the temperature setting, but ok. Still better than paying $5-6 for every soft drink and milk. We inquired about the price when renting the fridge, and what we HEARD was $50 and then $6/day. I’m paying $38/day in resort fees, but ok. I’ll pay to use your fridge.
Opened our credit card statement today, to find out we misunderstood the price, as they charged us FIFTY SIX DOLLARS A DAY to rent their crappy refrigerator.
I had been excited to take my kiddos to old Vegas and expose them the excitement that Fremont Street offers. Instead of a great family vacation, we were overcharged for every single thing inside this resort, AND had a subpar room that was not cleaned before our arrival. We checked out on 6/22, and as we had a late flight, we asked if we could still use the pool after checkout. We were told by the front desk that the policy is “no”
But that if we spoke with the pool attendant, we could probably work something out privately. So. Don’t plan on using the amenities after checkout unless you’re willing to privately pay off the staff. We decided to forgo the pool, and instead wandered around downtown until time to head to the airport. Once we walked back to the hotel, it took almost an hour for the bellman to get our luggage.
The initial cost for our room was awesome. The resort made sure to recoup every penny we felt like we were saving on our great deal. This hotel is legendary, but it’s going down as the worst place we have ever stayed.

Checked in on Jan 19th. The lobby , the restaurants are absolutely stunning. We requested a room in the Rush Tower and were told that it would be a late late check in and that the Gold Tower was essentially the same. It is a tired, worn room with mold around the tub and in need of renovations.
We then found out the stunning pool was closed ( from a distance it looks amazing).
When I inquired about the 38.00 daily resort fee when the main reason why we booked here was closed- I was told it was for all the “ other amenities- the two bottles of water placed in the room daily, the WiFi, newspaper ( a rack tucked away near the restrooms)”.
When I requested a reduction in the resort fee due to the pool being closed, I was told that the pool isn’t considered to be “ an amenity”.
Between the dishonesty of the first check in agent about the room - to the double speak of the follow up with another agent later proclaiming the pool is not an amenity ( resort fee is how the charge is labeled) ( but two bottles of water are) it’s very very disappointing.
The lobby , public space, the restaurants are gorgeous. The Gold Tower Rooms are not.
I just wish their integrity level matched the surroundings.

I stayed at this hotel because it was paid for us. None of the general rooms has a coffee maker or mini-refridgerater. I needed hot water, and they charged us $5.60 for delivery fee...The room service staff didn't have enough change (of course), so I had to pay even extra for hot water. They charge $10 for a bottle opener, so be careful. The room had some hair left when we first came in, like in the bathroom floor and inside an ice backet :(

Last time my family stayed here was August 2018 and everything was awesome. My husband and I checked in yesterday February 8th and it's not at all like our last stay. We are staying in gold tower room 1109. The bathtub had cracks in it which I waived off until I tried taking a bath and realized it was actually peeling off in parts making the water cloudy. I called front desk (it was late around 1130) they noted it and said someone would call between 12-2 today about changing rooms. We went to the buffet, $52 for two people, ate one plate each and left after 25 minutes. It's almost 3 at that point, so we stop at front desk and the woman was nice and said yes we can switch rooms. Gave us room 1519. We, and my 3 year old, move up to that room and I check the tub and it had the same problem. Not as bad, but enough for me to know better. I immediately call front desk, they tell us leave and come get keys for 8th floor. She asks if we need bellhop, I declined the bellhop offer when changing from original room, but this time said yes because it was a lot. She said okay, but you need to understand you'll be waiting at least 30 mins. I say no thank you, trek all our stuff back down to lobby, get keys for room 804 which is room we are in now. No peeling bathtub, but awfully stained and horribly painted/coated. Also, the floor walking in to is filthy.

I'm tired of changing rooms and dealing with unhappy employees.
Only one person offered an apology and that was the woman I spoke to originally when I called last night to request a room change. I wish I had got her name because she was so nice and this hotel needs 20 more like her working.

No one working here seems happy. It was way way busier when I came in August 18 and we had a bellhop even when we didn't ask. But we also spent a ton of money on Cabanas, food, etc. We didn't do that this time, maybe that's the difference. This trip has been one of the worst we've had. We won't be back and no longer recommend.
