Portland
We spent 3 days at Borgata Lodge. We both love to golf so this was very well situated for us. Both courses are wonderful to play at. But make your reservations early for the Bear as they tend to go fast. As for our suite, it was comfortable but is in need of updating. While we were there, the temps were in the high 90's so had to keep the AC on. It worked well but was extremely noisy. There was an overhead fan but it squeeked loudly as well so we decided to keep it turned off.
Most hotels now days offer HD television. This does not - the TV was old and small and the cable was basic allowing very few channels. There was no published guide as to what channels were received. There was also no guide for shops or the golf course in the immediate area. I thought this would have been standard information supplied in every room. All other hotels, including resorts such as this have a book with this kind of information.
Upon arrival at our place, the dishes were still in the dishwasher (cleaned) but the toaster didnt work. Mgmt was told and did give us a used one from an empty room.

On the good side, the bed was comfortable, and the wifi worked adequately. I appreciated the secured underground parking at the facility,

As for staying here again - I will take a pass.

We went on our vacation to Kelowna and stayed at the lodge for one week. First of all instructions were clear as to how to get in however the set of 3 keys you get to access the property is outdated. There should be a card system. A lot of people mistake the front of building for entrance where you have to go from the side. Building itself looks nice, but in our suite we found hair in bathtub and pillows very uncomfortable.Towels are thread bare. Expect to hear lawn mowers at 5 am as the golf course is right there around the lodge. The BBQ was so greasy we actually had a fire the first time we started it. Also no hot water in the evening (after 7pm) which was explained to me later that the system was being upgraded. I won't stay there again. No service to speak of so you have to look for the cleaning lady if you need more soap or clean towels.

Response from golfresort, Manager at Borgata Lodge
Responded Aug 15, 2013
Hello, We appreciate your feedback but several things that were stated are incorrect. First the BBQ that was in the suite was brand new, this guest was the very first people to use it. I personally installed the BBQ, the guest called the front desk admitting they had a fire with hot dogs. The guest did not put the fire out but left it to burn as the exterior of the BBQ had soot on iut, the inside was spotless other than the area were the hot dogs were, clearly it was left unatended. I checked the BBQ afer they called the next day and it was clear what took place, it has worked fine since then. The next guest even commented on how nice to have a new BBQ. Our condos do not come with dialy housekeeping unless you wish to pay for it, Its in all our confirmation emails. We try to keep our prices low, this helps, over 90% of guests choose to re use their towels and each suite has a washer and dryer. This guest made no comments to the front desk about anything other than the BBQ fire. We change our linens every year with new ones, they are brand new every spring and any stained towels or linens are discarded . Saying the towels are thread bare is just not true. This guest also brought a bike into building and into the suite each day and never asked permission. We let it go as it was not a big deal but something that is not permitted. Our complex is not pet friendly, this guest was reported by another guest to have a dog. We interacted with them about it and they admitted they had a friend over who snuck the dog in. As to keys we used to have the electronic card system and it failed regularly. We got rid of the system. Frankly those systems are not all that reliable and they easily get erased. People forget what room they are in as the cards are not labled, many times people end up trying to enter the wrong suite. Since going with reliable keys our guests have no key problems. We did have our hot water system worked on and for part of the evenings for 2 days there was limited hot water or the water was warm but not hot. Signs were posted in the complex to let people know, we apolozize for any inconvenience. We take pride in our building and work hard to make people happy. If you ever stay here and call us with a problem we deal with it. Thanks for your time and wishing you happy and safe travels Manager

This resort was well located for golfing, but was very no-frills. Studio rooms were small and there was nothing really out of the ordinary about the rooms, despite the pictures. There were adequate utensils and cookware, bit bring your own salt ! no cooking is possible in this room outside of the toaster oven and microwave, so you will need to eat out. there is no pool access and front desk help is rare.

Jessica and Christy were so helpful and made it so two easy for me to make the reservation from my home in Prince George for my daughter and husband's (Crystal and David) honeymoon trip and it was so easy for them to checking in.

They loved their room it was neat and tried and lots of sleeping space the view from their two balconies were awesome they enjoyed having the BQ.

They had planed to stay four nights but loved it so much they stay an extra night and had no problem booking the room this was all made with no people contract awesome work on all the staff.

The staff were very helpful and the Covid 19 rules were well practiced they have nothing good things to say about the Lodge and plan to keep going there when ever they go to Kelowna.

So we stayed over the first week of August 2020 and it was great! We stayed in a one bedroom loft and it was great. the only issue we had was the WIFI password/username was incorrect and it took a couple hours of slow texting to finally get it resolved.

The location is beautiful and convenient, 10 min drive to downtown and 10 min drive to lake country.
would def come back!

Response from Jessica Heitman, General Manager at Borgata Lodge
Responded Aug 19, 2020
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your recent stay at the Borgata Lodge. I am glad to see that you enjoyed the lodge and the unit you were assigned. I am sorry to hear that you experienced some delay in getting your wifi username and password resolved. We do offer a texting line for general inquiry. This is monitored by myself while I am at home in the evening hours. While I do try my best to respond within a timely manner to questions there are times when I am unable to get to the phone right away. For anything that is more urgent we do have a 24 hour emergency line also provided for guests to use as well if needed. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next stay! All the best, Jessica Heitman General Manager

Ok so we booked this place for the 12 July 2015 as my in-laws were over for a visit and we wanted to go on a bit of a road trip,
we were going to stay for 3 nights at around $300+ a night, accommodation is a self catering style. However as it was so abysmal we couldn't get out of there fast enough, now before i continue I'm sure one of the guys that's supposed to be managing this place will be on here once they see this review to try to justify our experience, they did offer to send the so called maid service to make another vague attempt to clean the place, which i pointed out would not make a difference to the awful beds or the filthy carpets, we declined, offered to pay for the night we stayed and promptly returned to our rooms to pack and get the hell out of there ASAP. On handing in the keys this guys now trying to convince me to take a look at a room that's suddenly become available with a pool no less, i pointed out that we'd already packed the car and family and it was too little too late, we'd booked into the Sandman which take my advice is like a breath of fresh air by comparison, its also central too.
So, to begin with the rooms can best be described as student accommodation meets concentration camp and just as welcoming, rooms were dirty, cheap miss matched furniture which looked like it came from a junk shop, an ancient CRT tv (maybe it was supposed to be an antique?), carpets are filthy and stained and actually turned the soles of our feet black, the toilet seat was heavily stained all over, bathroom shower had someone elses hair's stuck on the wall so did the supposed fresh towels, shower rail was covered in rust, cobwebs on the wall, shower curtain was stained, bath has mold around it, big stain on the bathroom ceiling and paper peeling off, the microwave was dirty with food exploded inside and clearly hadnt been cleaned in some time, the electrical wiring which someone had tried to tape to the floor could only be decribed as exploratory or experimental, you decide, either way its highly unsafe, the emergency evac plan was tucked away in a corner behind the fireplace which i noticed purely by chance (i have added pictures to corroborate). My inlaws room didnt even have a bedside light and one of the only two lights in there was broken.
Things came to a head when on putting our kids to bed, which was a fold out sofa, we discovered the bedding was heavily stained, i went down to the office to get the emergency contact number, on calling the one of the guys answered, didn't say who he was nothing, just sounded annoyed because i'd called, i told him about the condition of the sofa bed to which his response was what is it?, like I'm supposed to
know what the stain is? he tells me he'll contact the maid service i asked him how long this was going to take his response was he didn't know, so i left it half an hour and called back, he answers saying hes on his way, when he gets to the door however he just hands be the linen like I'm expected to be changing the bedding, i told him that its stained right through to the mattress so now he wants to take a look and ends up changing the bed, i also pointed out that the tv remote doesnt work because the battery is so corroded its blown in the remote. kids couldnt sleep on the sofa bed as the matress was so thin you could feel the springs digging in so they ended up having to share the single bed and i spent the night waking up as my youngest kept banging into the wall every time she tried to get comfortable. I also found a reciept for a local liquor store dated from the previous day under one of the pillows on the bed my kids had spent the night. So quite clearly these guys don't give a damn about the state of some of these rooms, they just want to take your hard earned money and leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth, honestly we shouldn't have had to pay for the night and its lucky they couldn't take the money in advance for the other nights or I'm sure they wouldn't have given us a refund, if these guys were doing their jobs properly they would be checking the condition of the rooms they let out when they know their expecting guests.
And the good points..... oh yeah, there aren't any.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Do not stay here... The Borgata Lodge has the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. The managers are more worried about golfing then running a proper establishment. We stayed there for four nights, when we first arrived it was a little run down but thought it would do... well we thought wrong. The hot water room had some kind of emergency (not sure what, as no one keeps you informed there) we had no hot water till after 3PM. I had to boil over 15 pots of water for our family to have a bath, it ruined our whole day we had lots of things planned that day didn't get to do any of them. The managers did nothing, I even had to call and text both of them to get a pathetic apology a good five hours after I had been trying to contract them.

I understand things like this happen and is not the hotels fault, but the way the hotel handles a situation like this is %100 their fault.

Once again PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

Response from golfresort, Manager at Borgata Lodge
Responded Apr 11, 2015
I am the manager, all guests get my cell number as I care about our clients. She called me at 11 am it was my day off, I was not golfing as she states. I apologized and immediately called our tech and duty manager and drove back to the lodge. Our tech was there in 30 minutes on a good Friday ! We posted signs in the building. Almost every client was out enjoying a beautiful sunny day. The system was fully operational by 2pm and to any that new of this praised us for how we handled it. Our duty manager called her and apologized and let her know we were working on it, we even went to the suite and knocked on the door when operational, no one was there. In all the 11 years I have been manager at this lodge we have never come across someone so mean and unreasonable. No fun to be writing this type of response but when someone grossly exaggerates and blatantly lies about what took place we must just tell the truth and move on. We do expect this is not the last of what we hear from this person. Sorry to anyone reading this for being so frank. Have a super day !

My family booked a 1 bedroom loft for the weekend. We arrived on the Friday and were greeted by a bag of garbage outside our suite ( # 304 ). After settling in and getting unpacked, we noticed that the room was quite dusty and dirty. There was food on the ceiling above the microwave, dust was caked on the lights above the fireplace and the chair at the desk had only been dusted by someone's feet. The kitchen floor and bottom of the counters were water damaged and looking at the roofing tiles, I wonder what condition the suites below us were in. Most of the counter tops were also damaged on their edges. Most of the lamp shades were damaged, the screen for the sliding door that leads to the deck was torn and the walls were chipped and dented throughout. To top it off, the DVD player did not work and the toilet handles needed to be " Jiggled" or they would run continuously. There are no phone numbers supplied in case you need to contact the staff if any problems occur. Fortunately, we did not spend much time in this room.

I guess if you just want a place to crash after you game of golf, this would be OK but for $ 170.00 a night, this place was a dump. Certainly did not live up to it's pictures or description online.

We appreciate the feed back and apologize for the items in the suite that are currently being repaired or replaced. The tile on the roof has been fixed, it was caused by a big wind / rain storm. The suite has been deep cleaned and getting new counters and flooring.

Lemmie tell you all something, if u wanna just sit back and relax, this is the place to do it, and if you're on a tight budget, this is also the place to go (in the winter at least) i stayed in the side by side with my girlfriend for a week and it had to be the best place ive ever stayed at while on vacation, the room/suite is huge, and has everything u need to live for a week.. dishes, dishwasher, even a washer and dryer.
Not to mention the guys that run the place are very kind and easy going, it doesnt feel all commercialy (holiday innish) it feels more like people talkin with other people... not just doing there job. you are not bugged by annoying room service, u have the option to get it but if u dont want it, ull never see em, just clean up yourself. (like its thaatt hard) 2 bathrooms, 2 bed rooms, 2 fireplaces, underground parking, a patio, with furniture, a gas grill, and a great view of a golf course (or lake))
again! AWESOME! if you are ever in the kelowna area or lookin to go there, FOR SURE!! check this place out, ull be happy u did! promise!

There are several lakes to choose, just 5 minutes north is Duck Lake, 10-12 minutes north is Wood Lake, another 5 minutes is Kal Lake or 20 minutes to Okanagan Lake, tons of sandy beaches and parks, enjoy !
