The Clock apartments are comfortable, large, and located near tourist sights, restaurants and shops. Our apartment, #2 was clean but there was a strong odor of mildew in the kitchen area. It was coming from under the counter and especially bak under the sink. You can do light cooking with the utensils provided, but we did need to go to a restaurant and ask for a corkscrew! The coffee machine worked well but you will need to supply your own milk or cream.
If you prefer something other than a thumbnail sized bar of soap-bring your own.

Be aware that the steps from the ground floor are very steep and not easy to climb with large suitcases.

If you expect the usual 24/7 service just by ringing a bell, this is probably not your best choice in Jaffa. If, however, you want to stay very locally in a nice room or apartment less than 500 meters from great cafes, restaurants, the flea market, the beach, the old Jaffa, then this is the place to stay!

Our room was great. Very high ceilings, large, clean, well lit with our own balcony. No complaints! The check in process was a bit strange though. These are more like rental apartments than a hotel. So there is no "lobby" but a door on the street with a sign to enter a security code. I did not see any generic door bell anywhere. There was a sign which said "For Emergencies Dial xxxxx." Is that what one is supposed to do to check in? Who knows. If you are travelling internationally and don't have a working cell phone then I guess you are out of luck. Luckily, an employee just came out to enter trash so we could get in. Our room was in the "other" building, which had a door just sort of broken and hanging ajar on the street. The room was at the top of a flight of stairs and had a simple latch lock, no dead bolt. Needless to say I didn't feel our belongings were secure with this sort of shady setup. You guys need to fix all this. As I said, the quality of the room made up for this and I would stay there again.

This was our second visit to the Jaffa Clock apartments. The first time we were pleasantly surprised by the room we got which was apparently "superior". Hence the return visit. This time was nothing short of disappointing. The 2 room "suite" was cramped and was located in an adjacent building The plumbing was deficient and a sign in the bathroom warned against throwing paper in the toilet and threatened charging guests for any plumbing problems!!! The bathroom was without a real door which certainly didn't provide privacy... Although the staff were very pleasant and helpful they couldn't compensate for the fact that this is essentially accommodation barely above youth hostel standards posing as luxury suites. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I've rented this place for my friend for one night. She had to wait for two hours before room was ready and manager was very rude to her. She had to bring her bag to the 4th floor as elevator was broken. Room was dirty, full of insects and lack of air. Balcony overlooked dirty street of old Jaffa and bunch of garbage on the roof of the nearest building. Strictly don't recommend this stay!!!

Had the potential of being great, but when we entered the room in the evening the first thing we did was turn on the A/C.
The A/C didn't work so we complained.
Their reply was that the A/C should work as in the morning it did work.
That seemed like a lie as if in fact it did work, why would there be a mobile air-condition unit right outside our door.
When we told them that it still wasn't working, they told us to use the mobile air-condition unit.
That was quite a discomfort as that meant having the window open in order to stick the huge pipe from the air-condition unit outside the window.
That mobile air-condition made such a loud noise that it was practically unbearable to sleep as we also had the loud noise from the street very early in the morning.
In one of the reviews I read that the shower drain caused the bathroom to be fully covered with water. The review was replied by the management saying that they would take care of this so you would think it would be fixed by the time you arrive.... well no, still stepping into a pool of water after every shower.
The next morning we went to the office to complain but no manager was available.
The receptionist assured me that I would be contacted by the manager.
That never happened, end of story!

I have stayed at many different hotels in Israel , of varying quality and category. I have never enjoyed a hotel as much as the The Clock. The customer service is outstanding: informal, sincere, friendly. The design is beautiful, the bed comfortable and the bathroom great. Although it's not on the beach, I really liked the location. In fact, this adds to this site's attractiveness.

We ordered a room 4 days in advance and tried to cancel it 3.5 hours after we ordered. The manager refused to cancel the order and refund us. When we got there we waited half an hour in the street before they open the reception and then they told us they sold the room without informing us. At list we got our money back

I travel to Israel and Palestine often, but this was my first time staying in Tel Aviv. It was a perfect location, close to shops, a diversity of food, downtown, the beach and the old port. Th room was great, and the managers were kind and full of great information while always taking time to explain everything in great detail.
Regarless of this is your first time or you have traveled many times, I would recommend this place. It is a great place and a lot less to many other hotels in the area.

The website is a work of fiction. I booked it as it looked good there. It was a nice enough room, but the place is dilapidated and the hospitality non-existent. They didn't show us to our room as we were late, and we couldn't find the aircon. When they eventually showed us how to use it, it leaked everywhere and flooded the hotel. Its a great location, but could do with smartening up. The best thing about it was the free wifi and nice breakfast in Christopher's cafe across the street.
