Very stylish hotel in an excellent location very near the gay bars in the Eixample area, a 15/20 minute walk to both Plaça d'Espanya and Plaça de Catalunya. The reception/bar staff were very friendly. The rooms were very stylish and minimal, but beware if sharing with a friend and not a partner, the shower is a clear glass box (not frosted) and the floor can be a little bit slippery if you are a little bit tired after a big night the night before.! The toilet glass wall is frosted, although the "door handle" is a small round hole.
On the roof is a heated pool, even in winter which made us happy as we visited in February, with a curved hot tub bubble area at one end, although the timer for the bubbles is a bit short. There is also a small steam room and basic gym. The breakfast is fairly standard buffet style food.
Overall I was very happy with my stay here (I didn't share a room) and the good service.

I used to live in Barcelona and regularly visit the city and have stayed in many hotels. This was my first time at the Two Hotel, but it's now become my go-to hotel for future visits.
Firstly, the price for the quality of the hotel is excellent! (Tip -book directly through their website for the best price). My room was very large, clean with modern decor and features. The roof top pool is excellent for enjoying the Barcelona sunshine and making friends and the breakfast is great quality and varied.
I also needed to work from the hotel and there is a desk in the room and the wifi supported two days full of Zoom calls without a problem.
Location wise, the hotel is next to Rocafort metro and the Aerobus from the airport drops you off at Urgell less than 5 mins walk from the hotel.
My last mention is for the staff who made me feel so welcome and were incredibly helpful. Jorge on reception deserves a special mention for his professionalism and support in making my stay the best hotel break I've had in years!

The hotel is centrally located equal distance to the beach and Casa Blatlo. It is also close to the Gothic Quarters.
The reception staff is helpful.
Breakfast is great with good choices.
The rooms are spacious but my two comments on what I did not like is the metal chair that is very uncomfortable and unpractical and the quality of bedding and towels that needs replacing to better quality
Pool is nice and the pool bar great it is a shame there isn’t a seating area to have a quiet drink.
Hotel is super clean.
I would have preferred a garden view room and I strongly advise to ask for one. Is nice to seat on the small balcony in the evening having a cava.
I was very upset with hotel who changed my friend room to garden view but refused to change mine even after the guests next door had a party. The party was immediately stoped by reception when i informed them.

The website and reviews enticed us to make a reservation, but the experience was terrible. We booked a deluxe superior room, but it was extremely small for 2 men over 4 nights. Since there were only 2 drawers in a small cabinet, we had to lay our clothes on the floor for the entire stay. There is only one uncomfortable chair in the room. The shower door fell off on the second day and was only repaired the next day. The only apology for the shower door was a bottle of cheap champagne. There was not a mirror over the sink. The soap and other products are both small and cheap, and housekeeping forgot to replace them. We had to ask for extra towels, since they limit them to 2 per day (so shower only once a day, even if you want to refresh in the afternoon). The receptionist told us we had the breakfast included , then charged us $119.36 when we checked out. And it is NOT a hotel for gay men even though they advertise it with all male models. The other Axel is in a much better location and looked great in comparison.

Dear Josephwert, We are sorry you were not aware of the size of the room; we try to include as many pictures of our facilities and complete description at the time of booking. We apologize for the incident with the door which was solved as soon as possible. Since it was in the evening, we tried to offer a solution: another room where you could have slept while the door was fixed. The sink has a police mirror, which is part of the playful design. When lights are off behind, the miror can be used. Our reception is open 24h and can help with any information, amenities or fresh towels. We double checked and your booking was for the room only without breakfast. if it appears differently on your reservation, please send it to us so we can look into it. as fo our hotel not being gay, our whole company is heterofriendly and has never been exclusive since we want to create a space of tolerance where all are welcome independently of gender or sexual orientation. Thus, meaning that at different points in time you might have more or less percentage of gay men. We hope this did not prevent you from having a good time while in the city. Kind regards,

I chose the hotel because of the brand name. The TWO brand is the chicer more modern iteration of the Axel Hotels. The location was perfect: right in the middle of the Eixample and close to many of the gay bars and clubs. The rooms were clean and tidy and the front desk staff all receive five stars for their warm and friendly demeanor and going above and beyond to help the guests. However, the housekeeping is dragging the down the hotel. There was no water in my room upon check-in. None. Not even even in the mini bar. Which means the room was never inspected or inventoried by housekeeping before my check-in. Also, I would expect a four star hotel to have face towels, in addition to hand towels and bath towels and there are no tissue boxes. When I asked about the latter I was given a stack of paper towels, which is about as much as the hotel staff could do given the limited inventory they were handed. I would also suggest to have feather pillows on hand for those who don't like sponged filled pillows. The ones they have now in their modern rectangular shape are more for aesthetics than sleeping comfort. While my complaints might seem small. the hotel has been opened for six years and
was closed during Covid lockdown, which gave them plenty of time to work out these issues. Right now to me this is a 3 star hotel, which with a little care and attention to detail, could actually earn the 4-stars it claims to be.

Great hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and modern, concierge was able to get me a room earlier with a small upcharge so I can pass out from terrible sleepless flight. Right next to the metro so traveling anywhere in the city was easy. Staff scheduled a taxi pickup to Park Guell and the Airport for me. Traveled as a solo hetero male and would stay again and recommended to others as well. Didn't have chance to check out sky bar figured with it being December it would be too cold. I didn't include breakfast in my stay since I'm not a breakfast person but had breakfast one day and it was good

We have stayed at other Axel hotels in the past and have found them to be ok and have also booked with axel for future stays next year at their other hotels. However, this hotel seemed to not be as we expected after deciding to book this over others in the area. We have visited Barcelona several times in the past so are aware of locations and this city stay.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful with the rooms clean and the overall hotel are as the pictures show; which is always a bonus. The hotel has 100% met the modern need for Instagram backdrops and has a great vibe in reception. The showers are fantastic with no issues and the room layout good for couples. Although, I would be uncomfortable sharing the room with a friend or family member due to the lack of privacy between room, shower and toilet. The beds are also slightly uncomfortable with us both commenting on this after having several woken moments in the night to try and get comfortable.
One huge disappointment for us was the ‘heated pool’ which was absolutely freezing cold. This thought was clear with two other guests that arrived to the pool at a similar time with one braving entry, before immediately getting back out and telling us it was like jumping into an ice bath. We were slightly gutted as it was one of the reasons we had booked the hotel, knowing the beach wouldn’t be suitable at the time of year. We understand that a heated pool isn’t going to be a hot tub but we would expect the water to be a usable temperature.
We were then further disappointed to have to ask on two separate occasions for the steam room to be switched on. Although, reception staff seemed surprised it wasn’t already on and solved the issue straight away. However, waiting ages on a short city break for a steam room to warm isn’t ideal when you had planned to relax in the spa before heading back out for dinner.
At times we felt like the only guests in the hotel as we saw hardly anyone at all, but at no point felt unsafe and there’s always someone on reception.
Due to the uncomfortable sleep, lack of heated pool and the steam room appearing to be on request only, we wouldn’t return to this hotel and this is the reason we have only given an average rating.

We work very hard to try to make sure our guests have the best time but it is clear that this time we didn’t manage it. Our beds are on the harder side according to health recommendations but we know that individual preferences can vary a great deal and our reception that is available 24h can arrange for a softer topper to be installed if you prefer. We apologize for the inconvenience with the pool, due to the heavy rain and cold wave we've experienced some variations of temperature throughout the day. Our steam room if operative throughout the day but some guests sometimes manage to turn it off after usage. We are sorry you then had to wait for it to be back on. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, was a bit sceptical going there after reading the reviews, only because there was not a lot said about straight couples staying here.
But as we got dropped off to the hotel we felt pleasantly surprised, we were greeted by very friendly staff explained everything we needed to know and went to the room, the room was big enough as stated no wardrobe but that was not a problem, supplied with toiletries and hairdryer,the bed was amazingly comfortable and massive, only thing I would agree with is the aircon was not the coldest but didn’t bother us for the time of year,
Breakfast is basic but definitely enough there for you to find something you like.
Hotel was very clean and brilliantly situated for bars and restaurants and supermarkets,in walking distance to the metro which was very efficient and easy to get around Barcelona,
We saw loads of attractions and nothing disappointed even though you will walk miles,we were warned about pick pockets etc but have to say we felt really safe to walk around even at night,the only place we did have an altercation was at La Rambla, the street is very busy loads to see and enough places to eat at,but watch out for the guys who say they from Jamaica etc they will get your attention by talking to you then put bracelets on you (as a free gift) then they talk about they family and then want money of you, tried given the stuff back but they won’t have any of it, then a different person will follow you and do exactly the same, very intimidating to be honest.
Must just say how amazing the staff are, from catering staff to the cleaners and the staff behind the desk,But have to say a massive thank you to Beatrice who helped us so much,spoke excellent English and nothing was to much trouble for her, and we were very grateful for her help with our transfer home, this hotel is very lucky to have her as the welcoming team.
Also you can buy attraction and bus tickets there,and very easy to book transfers to the airport.

I’m so glad I stayed at this hotel during my visit to Barcelona..from the min i arrived I felt comfortable and relaxed.
Mauro made my experience at checking very smooth and was gracious enough to get me into a room the second I arrived - He’s hospitality skills are admirable. Not one second went by that him and his team made me feel at home!
I recommend staying that this awesome adults only hotel next time you’re in Barcelona, you won’t regret it!
Mauro made my experience at checking very smooth and was gracious enough to get me into a room the second I arrived - He’s hospitality skills are admirable. Not one second went by that him and his team made me feel at home!
