Ridiculous room design for too much $$$

If you are traveling with someone and are comfortable showering, doing your business without privacy and no mirror above the sink - this is the place for you. That some interior designer thought this design was trendy or cool in anyway…. This is not a 4 star hotel and it has seen much better days. At this price point you can do better. Will not return.

My stay at Axel Two Barcelona was marred by Supervisor Alexandra Gelabert's aggressive approach to a simple misunderstanding about a late checkout and a misplaced item. While the other staff were helpful and professional, Alexandra's behavior was confrontational, making me feel unsafe and unwelcome. She accused me of misconduct without cause and threatened police involvement, which was deeply unsettling. Despite the hotel's reputation, this experience was disappointing. Significant improvements in management are necessary before I can recommend this hotel.

Room tip: 1. Document interactions. 2. Know and assert your rights. 3. Get confirmations in writing. 4. Contact upper management if needed.

First and foremost, I want to express our sincere apologies if you felt mistreated during your time with us. Please know that we strive to provide exceptional service to all our guests, and it deeply concerns us to hear about any negative experiences.

During our interactions, both personally and through our staff, we made every effort to accommodate your needs and ensure your comfort. However, it is essential to address the incident regarding your behavior towards our team.

Regrettably, there were instances where your conduct towards our receptionist crossed the boundaries of respect and professionalism. It was reported internally that you became confrontational when informed that certain services, such as discounts for influencers or complimentary late check-out, were not available. Moreover, your reaction to the reminder of the check-out time the following day was met with loud and aggressive behavior, causing distress to our staff.

I want to emphasize that we have a strict policy against abusive behavior towards our team members. While we understand that situations can be frustrating, it is never acceptable to resort to insults or aggressive outbursts. Our priority is to maintain a safe and respectful environment for both guests and staff alike.

When attempts at communication proved futile, and the situation escalated, it was necessary to remind you of our policies and the potential involvement of authorities to ensure compliance with our check-out procedures.

We sincerely hope you understand that our actions were guided by the need to uphold our standards of service and the well-being of our team. We value your feedback and strive to learn from every guest interaction to improve our services continually.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that future interactions will be more positive and constructive. If you have any further concerns or wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

I enjoyed the very friendly welcome, to a great room which i could get in the morning when they saw that i stayed my birthday week. The room was spacious, well appointed and spotless clean.
Good breakfast. Fantastic location and also loved the sundeck with the nice small pool.
I would definitely recommend the TWO by Axel anytime

Just came home from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Staff welcoming and friendly.

Hotel room was clean, modern and just what we needed. Bed was big and comfortable, had towels and shower products & a hair dryer. Also has a mini bar if you want however cheaper to buy at a local supermarket.
Also had a balcony but can not smoke on the balcony.

Location wise it is not too bad. Had a few restaurants and shops locally but we decided to venture off to the hotspot areas such as Barcelona Cathedral, Barcelona Beach, La Rambla Street etc. We went to these areas everyday by walking or getting on the bus.
(Bus is very easy to use in conjunction with Google Maps)

We did go to a little cafe / bar around the corner from the hotel called Garbi. Alcoholic drinks are very cheap, food was nice and staff very lovely so if you want a £2 beer go there!

Definitely check out La Boqueria Market if you want to try some new foods, Ciutadalla Park was lovely to walk around and you can row a boat.

Food places we went to but (a bit expensive but well worth it) was Harry’s, La Selva and Boa Bao.

All in all, we had a pleasant stay. I could not fault the hotel, or the staff. Location is not in the centre but very easy to travel to by bus (10-15 min journeys).

If you are going to the hotel or to the airport, do NOT use a taxi!! They are expensive and not worth it. We found out there is a bus that takes you to the airport which was a 2 minute walk away - it cost $7 euros each compared to a $40 euro taxi! I think the journey was around 20-30 minutes by coach/bus. It was easy, cheap and convenient!

Great hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and modern, concierge was able to get me a room earlier with a small upcharge so I can pass out from terrible sleepless flight. Right next to the metro so traveling anywhere in the city was easy. Staff scheduled a taxi pickup to Park Guell and the Airport for me. Traveled as a solo hetero male and would stay again and recommended to others as well. Didn't have chance to check out sky bar figured with it being December it would be too cold. I didn't include breakfast in my stay since I'm not a breakfast person but had breakfast one day and it was good

Room tip: Mirrors in the lobby made me think it was bigger lol

A clean and modern hotel, with very friendly staff. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for all of the lobby receptionists. Particularly Eric who helped us out a couple of times.
We spent four nights in the Two hotel, the breakfast is pretty good value for money
(A change of tea bag wouldn’t go amiss! 😂 my only complaint). The girl in the breakfast room was very efficient and kind.
We didn’t have time to get to the sky bar because we were too busy trying out some of the great restaurants in the city!
Can’t wait to get back.
A great hotel for all.
Don’t be put off by the some of the advertising for this hotel. It’s a worthwhile stay.
