Hotel is situated in a small lane just off Plaza Catalunya and La Ramblas. The location is good with easy access to public transport, hop on hop off stop and aerobus stop which is just a few minutes walk. Also there are lot of restaurants nearby and the happening la ramblas street is very near. It is a budget hotel with only basic amenities. The lift is very small and can accommodate only 1 person and luggage. The rooms are small, with some rooms having a small balcony. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is small but clean. Breakfast is served in the hotel opposite which is very basic - cereals, boiled eggs, bread coffee etc. Overall decent stay for 2 nights.

In a nutshell, A very human hotel managed by an amazingly pleasant, helpful, polite and super supportive team! Hotel Catalunya does not only provides a very high level of customer service. Judging by the two rooms I viewed, the rooms are very cosy, super comfortable, clean and air-conditioned. That is not all; the location is right in the centre of Barcelona shopping district, surrounded by fantastic restaurants and super, super access to transport (you won't need an expensive taxi to the city centre). The airport shuttle terminus is a mere 2 to 3 minutes walk to the hotel. Superb value for money. Thank you, Kim and Manuel. Highly recommended, and I shall return!

While it wasn't expensive, it did not feel like good value for the price. Room was large, but very bare, staff was not friendly, and we couldn't even get a cup of coffee. No normal lobby or anywhere to sit. Everything was clean, but extremely budget-feeling without a budget price.

Lovely little hotel! In the perfect location and great at the reception was staffed 24/7. Room was everything you needed, nice and clean, good Aircon and a little balcony was a lovely extra. I saw a lot of reviews about the noise, this is everywhere in this area and to be honest I found that this location wasn’t that noisy and did stop during the hours of sleep. Would definitely recommend and definitely go back when I come back to Barcelona.

We booked a double-bed room for 4 nights.

🙏🏻 We absolute loved the cleaning ladies! They always had that warm smile and were anytime willing to help us. Extra points for how discreet and sweet they were!

👍🏻 Location was great and access to metro station (Catalunya) and Airport Bus stop was super easy on foot; ground mostly flat.
The room was basic, yet comfortable.
Bathroom had just the basic amenities (shampoo, shower gel), towels and a window.
Reception staff was friendly and attentive, but nothing more than this.

👎🏻 Not really soundproof external walls and bathroom walls.
No toilet brush.
A bit noisy neighborhood on a Friday night, but let’s not forget we were located right next to La Rambla.

This is a no frills hotel. Place to sleep and that’s it. Had good water pressure in the shower if that’s important to you. Good location in the Gothic Quarter. HOWEVER, we can’t say definitely but we believe one of our credit cards was “lifted” during check.in. A day into our stay, a very sizable charge came up on our credit card and the company called us. My husband checked and sure enough the credit card was gone from his wallet. Only time his wallet was out was during check in. Again, maybe a coincidence…?

Location is great, a corner from pl. Catalunya and at the beginning of the Las Ramblas

The room doors have no soft close, thus everytime someone bangs the door, the whole floor literally wakes up.

Also, i had an uneducated guest next door who just made my sleep a nightmare - laughing, music and more till past midnight... as if he was in my room

It is a pity as the hotel has certain potential with a bit of investment

The hotel decide to cancel our room without any notice 4 days before we arrive. So we learned about the situation when we were at the front desk for the check-in, they told us that one of us cancelled the room the day before, but that was not true. So they offer us to rent another room that was much more expensive. So we decline the offer. When we came back home we were surprised that the hotel tried to pass de payment even if we didn't stayed there. No help at the front desk to see why there was a cancelation without notice, and no help to find a solution. Terrible experience with that hotel.

We just checked out two days ago from this hotel, and just want to offer a heartfelt GRACIAS for a fabulous service. Special mention to one of your reception employees, who remained calm and helpful faced with a group of incredibly rude customers, and managed to help *us* at the same time. I’m sorry I don’t know his name. Great location for the hotel, next to the amazing Arena mall, and the CAIXA foundation for art, the Miró foundation up the hill, numerous tapas places. Last, the rooftop pool was a fabulous perk! My daughter, age 12, could not get enough. Muchas, muchas gracias. Vera—Norway

There is not a lot say about this hotel. It was clean, the room was small and the staff was professional.

I can't complain about the room being small because I do not go on vacation to stay in my room, but getting into the shower was difficult. I had to squeeze past the toilette and then step over an 18 inch high bath tub wall. It would be very difficult for an elderly person to get in and out of.
