Being our first time in Barcelona, we made a lot of planning ahead and spent countless nights looking for the best price/comfort accommodation available and I believe we found it. We weren't looking to spend much time indoors so a bed and breakfast was the perfect option for us.
The rooms were spacy and very elegant, and every door was secured with a keypad (and automatic locking), so we never had to worry about carrying keys around. The beds were comfortable and the room had really good air conditioning and a large shower. One of the best parts was the common kitchen where you can store/ cook whatever groceries you had from the supermarket (which there is also one luckily like 5 minutes away). The staff was incredibly friendly, and even looked after our bags for a few extra hours after check-out, as our flight was in the evening and we didn't want to carry luggage around all day. Overall we are very happy with the service received.
Location wise, I'd say it is in a pretty good spot. Close bus stations, close to Casa Mila and Casa Battlo and close to a metro station that you can take to the airport.
PS: The easiest way to find the location is to follow the street number. There is no big sign pointing you to where the entrance is, it is behind a metal gate which you access from the main street. Took us a few minutes to find it, so hopefully this advice will help someone else :)

For my husband and I, a hotel or boutique is a place to sleep and groom on. Umma provides exactly what we need. They have clean beds, friendly staff. It's not too chic nor too hostel looking. They also provide free breakfast which includes cereal, bread, and coffee. I won't complain if it's free right? :D Nonetheless, Umma Barcelona is also convenient location wise-- walking distance from restaurants and scenic spots.

This is a wonderful boutique B&B in an old building on Av. Diagonal.
Iron entry gates, Victorian 2 person lift, high ceilings, marble. Doesn’t get much better. Comfortable reception area with sofa and chair, honesty fridge with drinks so you mark down what you’ve taken. Coffee and Tea making, even a kitchen which you can buy your own food and cook in. This is communal but nice to have.
The bedrooms some may feel are small but they were fine for us. The large bathroom with walk in shower was a welcome relief once you’ve been walking around Barcelona all day. Bed was very comfy and the air con was quiet and kept us cool.
Breakfast is continental style. Cereal, toast, pastries, cheese and meats.
The staff were excellent. Very welcoming and full of tips and guidance to make sure you make the most of your time here.
I would definitely book here again.

Lots of noise from the street and other rooms. I got two small beds that every night split. Sink was blocked every time you use the tap.
Never ever book with booking as you’ll find yourself with a trap. I was told my ‘deal’ doesn’t include cleaning everyday, that meant towels, shower gel and even toilet paper that ran out! Imagine 6 days o same towels.. when asking the lady for cleaning she said the made had an issue and couldn’t come.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Wonderful accommodation. Everything that you need as well as a kitchen which you can buy your own food to cook. Historical building in a perfect location for sight seeing with the tour bus stop just around the corner. Will definitely return here on our next trip to Barcelona x

Location is okay but it is very noisy from the street below. Also overpriced at $169 per night with a mediocre breakfast. Found a place up the street for considerably less and much nicer in all aspects.

This is a very sweet B & B. We had to leave early the next morning, so didn’t experience the breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was adequate, and we never heard noise from the traffic or other guests.Lara from the front desk couldn’t be more helpful. There are plenty of places to eat nearby.

Everything was great. The staff, the room, the breakfast, the location and the building. I highly recommend staying there.
The boutique is surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafes and bars..and most importantly but stations.

We stayed one night at Umma Barcelona; unfortunately it was a last minute booking and the hotel was booked out for the second night.
We were warmly greeted by the owner Diana and another lady who treated each customer with professionalism and friendliness. They both spoke perfect English and were very informative.
The hotel is very well located and has some excellent design touches. Breakfast was an added bonus and there is use of a kitchen which would be beneficial for some travellers.
in summary, this boutique hotel is highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights before our cruise. The b and b is very well located - close to las ramblas, tons of restaurants and shopping. It may not be easy to see from the street, but the girls give you great directions to find it...Main door between the Natuzzi furniture doors. We stayed in room 6 it was lovely, with a view out to the back quiet patio. We even left our windows open for the night. The girls also gave us great "intel" on where to go for tapas and other restaurants. The breakfast was typically european, meat, cheese, bread...all together lovely spot. I would go back in a heartbeat.

From the airport you have different options:
Metro (4,50€): You have to take the L9 and change to the L5 at the Collblanc station. You have to get off at Diagonal Station. From there to Umma there is a 5-10 minute walk.
Aerobus (around 6€): It takes you up to Catalunya Square. From there you can take the metro L3 and get off in the same Diagonal station.
If you prefer a taxi, we can send you one of our trust for the same price that picking it at the airport. The price is 35€ during the day, 40€ nights and weekends. If you are interested let me know.

The B&B is not very big so the rooms are in the same floor, some of them face the street and the others an inside patio.
To the most touristic part of the ramblas you have around 20-30 minute walk. The metro stop is really closed and the different lines are really well conected.
