The hotel has a common resting room, with a capsule coffee machine, microwave and kettle.
Plus it has a really good location.
We were very pleased and would definitely recommend this place!
Nice clean room, house keeping we’re lovely and done timely. It did the job really there just to sleep. Would highly recommend 10/10😊😊.
This left me at 4pm with no accommodation. And there was no accommodation that I could find at a price I could afford. I have had to leave barcellona for some of my planned time and the rest stay in a 16 bed mixed dorm which is not what I want for the trip I have planned and saved for for 2 years.
The staff members at hotel Orleans didn't care and made it clear it wasn't their problem. I am left feeling hurt and angry. There seems to be no recourse for this terrible practice. It seems to me that hotel orleans decided it could get a lot more money by renting my room at short notice than the deal given to me weeks prior.
I will definitely return to this Hostal.
Great location in La Ribeira, just in front of Santa Maria Del Mar - known as Barcelona's lovliest church, by pretty tree-lined st. Just next to church is the best ice-cream shop, open until 11.30pm!
Also close to Picasso Museum, and quirky little shops and lovely intimate little restaurants! Restaurant tip- Go to La Fonda - fabulous, just off Las Ramblas. Everything under 5 euros, and tastes fantastic. Be prepared to queue!
It is in a very good location. Within walking distance to most places. In the "up and coming" La Riberia district.
The rooms and the rest of the hostel were very clean. A cleaner/maid came in every morning. We had fresh towels each day, and our bathroom was also cleaned each day.
I found the room to be of a good size (and the others I sneaked a peek at also were of good size) and the bathroom had a mini bath with shower. The bathroom does get very hot n steamy as there is no ventalation. Our room had a balcony (looked fairly new and not at all scary)which was of a good size. We both quite happily sat out there with our chairs and watched the world go by. The beds were comfy. Bring slippers as the floors are all tiled and you might get cold feet.
You can spend an extra 5 Euro per day for air conditioning, which I would recommend as it does get warm.
The people who run/manage the place are all very friendly (especially the man who is there throughout the day) they don't speak much english but with plenty of hand gestures and pointing you can manage to communicate quite well!!
There is a nice community room, which has recent English Magazines for you to read.
But remember! This is a hostel so don't expect luxury. You get what you pay for. The decorating is a bit dodgy with miserable looking yellows and browns and dodgy pictures. You wouldn't want to decorate your home like this!
Yes you can hear the traffic outside, but it is fairly quiet during the night time hours.
A word of advice to those who decide to stay here. Some rooms have been newly redecorated (you can tell which ones because they had nice shiny new doors) we stayed in a room which hadnt been re-decorated. The re-decorated rooms did look nicer so if possible ask if you can stay in one of those. From what I can remember room numbers 204-209 were the newer ones.
If you decide to stay here you must visit the cafe/sandwich shop on Argentera which does the best smoothies and ciabattas ever. You can get both for 5 euro and its very filling. Its next to the Park Hotel.
"The area where the Hostal is situated is very accessible for restaurants, bars & marina. The beach is also very close. We felt very safe."Read full review
