Awesome location and good value! It is very basic, but the rooms have nice little balconies and private bathrooms. There’s really good restaurants within minutes of the hotel for all budgets. It’s located on the edge of the beautiful El Born, only a few blocks from the sea, and very close to the park. I felt very safe there as a solo female traveler... I stayed for eight nights. One of the train stations is across the street which takes you up and down the coast to incredible beaches. The train is very easy to figure out. The metro is also within 5 minutes walking. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in this hostal for 3 nights in February and it was really great! The room was small but clean and had everything what we need. The bed was so comfortable! The staff were really nice and helpful. The walls are thin, that is true, but it wasn't disturbing at all, we slept well.
The hotel has a common resting room, with a capsule coffee machine, microwave and kettle.
Plus it has a really good location.
We were very pleased and would definitely recommend this place!

I booked this hotel on booking.com weeks before my trip. On arrival from airport I was told my reservation had been canceled 7 hours ago because they could not get hold of me to confirm a credit card that had already been confirmed by booking.com.
This left me at 4pm with no accommodation. And there was no accommodation that I could find at a price I could afford. I have had to leave barcellona for some of my planned time and the rest stay in a 16 bed mixed dorm which is not what I want for the trip I have planned and saved for for 2 years.
The staff members at hotel Orleans didn't care and made it clear it wasn't their problem. I am left feeling hurt and angry. There seems to be no recourse for this terrible practice. It seems to me that hotel orleans decided it could get a lot more money by renting my room at short notice than the deal given to me weeks prior.

Rooms, cleanliness, location all amazing and all other members of staff friendly and helpful but had a bad experience with one lady. In the shared lounge area me and my sister came back from drinks out before midnight ( in no way being drunk and dissorderly, maybe a little loud) and the lady sat there told my sister Fu*k off for no Reason whatsoever. Me and my sister were really shocked and said excuse me ect ect you should not speak to people like that and she continued to say Fu*k off agressively in my sister's face and said she ' f**king owns the place'. The other staff member, a man tried to calm the situation and make her excuses but unfortunately her aggressive rude behaviour let the place down. I would be giving 5 stars if it was not for this incident and all of the other staff members were really friendly. Think someone needs to go on a customer service course :/

Family of 3 booked a private room with bathroom. Clean, friendly staff. English friendly. Located right next to train station and taxi stand. Great value, had no problems while staying here, in fact we loved the location a lot.

Lovely Hostal. Only downside is you have to climb 2 flights of stairs before you reach the Hostal. Apart from that thd place was very clean. Staff were very helpful. Couldn't fault the accommodation we had. If anyone has breathing problems be forwarded.
I will definitely return to this Hostal.

Don't let the word 'hostal' put you off - have stayed in much worse hotels! Stayed in room 207, one of the new rooms, and was very impressed. Although compact, the room was nicely furnished in mohogany shades, with matching wardrobe, table, chairs and fancy bedside lights! TV works fine too. Bathroom immaculate!

Great location in La Ribeira, just in front of Santa Maria Del Mar - known as Barcelona's lovliest church, by pretty tree-lined st. Just next to church is the best ice-cream shop, open until 11.30pm!

Also close to Picasso Museum, and quirky little shops and lovely intimate little restaurants! Restaurant tip- Go to La Fonda - fabulous, just off Las Ramblas. Everything under 5 euros, and tastes fantastic. Be prepared to queue!

My boyfriend and I spent 9 nights in Hostel Orleans.

It is in a very good location. Within walking distance to most places. In the "up and coming" La Riberia district.

The rooms and the rest of the hostel were very clean. A cleaner/maid came in every morning. We had fresh towels each day, and our bathroom was also cleaned each day.

I found the room to be of a good size (and the others I sneaked a peek at also were of good size) and the bathroom had a mini bath with shower. The bathroom does get very hot n steamy as there is no ventalation. Our room had a balcony (looked fairly new and not at all scary)which was of a good size. We both quite happily sat out there with our chairs and watched the world go by. The beds were comfy. Bring slippers as the floors are all tiled and you might get cold feet.

You can spend an extra 5 Euro per day for air conditioning, which I would recommend as it does get warm.

The people who run/manage the place are all very friendly (especially the man who is there throughout the day) they don't speak much english but with plenty of hand gestures and pointing you can manage to communicate quite well!!

There is a nice community room, which has recent English Magazines for you to read.

But remember! This is a hostel so don't expect luxury. You get what you pay for. The decorating is a bit dodgy with miserable looking yellows and browns and dodgy pictures. You wouldn't want to decorate your home like this!

Yes you can hear the traffic outside, but it is fairly quiet during the night time hours.

A word of advice to those who decide to stay here. Some rooms have been newly redecorated (you can tell which ones because they had nice shiny new doors) we stayed in a room which hadnt been re-decorated. The re-decorated rooms did look nicer so if possible ask if you can stay in one of those. From what I can remember room numbers 204-209 were the newer ones.

If you decide to stay here you must visit the cafe/sandwich shop on Argentera which does the best smoothies and ciabattas ever. You can get both for 5 euro and its very filling. Its next to the Park Hotel.

I stayed here with a friend for two weeks, and it was a great experience. All of the staff are amazing: very helpful, sweet, and friendly. The hotel is in a great location in the Born district. It is a ten-minute walk or five-minute bus ride to the beach. In the streets behind the hotel there are lots of restaurants, bars, lounges, and shops. There are two metro stations very close by. The room we stayed in was quite small, but always clean, and had a terrace, private bathroom, tv, and air conditioning. AND.... there is fairly inexpensive internet service in the living room. The main road it is located on can be quite noisy, but if you shut the window it actually keeps out most of the sound. Overall, I only have good things to say about this hostal. If I visit Barcelona again (which I hope to) I will definitely stay at Hostal Orleans.

A shared bathrooms means precisely that - one toilet for several rooms with an entry from the common hall. If it is occupied when you need it, well, tough luck. In true life it's not really a drama - you come back to the hostal only to sleep, and besides you should have a sink and a shower in your room. I spent there three nights and never experienced a conflct of interests. It looked also quite clean, but you can't really see the germs, can you?

There is a shuttle from terminal 1 to terminal 2 at El Prat. From terminal 2, follow the signs to the metro station. Take the Metro R2 North to Passeig de Gracia. When you get off at Passeig de Gracia, stay in the same platform where you got off and wait for the R2 South train. The R2 South train’s last stop is Estacio Franca. The hotel is literally just across the street.
