I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. I am really fussy and I cannot fault this place. Lucas was our waiter and he was amazing, attentive but not hovering and neither was we rushed. We sat for four hours, it was a special birthday and a special night. The lighting was romantic in the old barn with a candle on the table too. The wine we ordered was lovely and being a red which needed a bit of breathing we had bigger glasses brought to us.
We went for one of the special tasting menus and it did not disappoint. We had four starters all of which were delicious, bread with tomatoes, Barrata, Salmon tartar and finally mushrooms with egg. For mains we both went for the pork which was outstanding, dessert was cheesecake for both of us, again delicious. I would recommend this to anyone. In fact I just accosted two American ladies in the hotel reception and insisted they come!

We had a really good experience with our visit here. The food was very lovely. We had the three course tasting menu (the smallest one). We shared the appetizers and had different main courses and desserts. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiters was so sweet and nice. The only thing though, we got asked if we wanted some sauce for the steak (after it was served), however no one told us we were supposed to pay for it. It’s fair enough to pay extra, but they just have to tell you before bringing it in.

This was our best meal of the trip. The room is lovely, service is excellent and the food outstanding. Their fixed price menus enable you to try several appetizers and desserts along with a great entree. The rack of lamb and steaks are particularly good. Don't skip dessert - it's exceptional too.

My husband and I visited this restaurant not 2 hours ago and it was our first dinner after dropping of our luggage. What a gem! Nestled among magical winding streets and with the most gorgeous medieval interior, it is only surpassed by the excellent service - our server Javier was so attentive - and the delicious food! Our favorites were the peasant sausage on bean purée, the goat cheese and quince salad, the steak encroute, and divine chocolate truffles. We were also given a small complimentary bottle of olive oil to take home. We absolutely loved our experience and what a great start to our trip! Thank you, Arcano!

Arcano fitted our group of 6 in on a Saturday night, we only waited an hour, which was so good of the team. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing, William looked after us very well, the food was some of the best we have ever had and such good value. The chefs even catered for a nut allergy. Well worth a visit. Thank you team.

Sadly our experience was poor.
It was my partners 40th birthday and I noted this at the time of booking.
We were shown to a table promptly and advised of the menu, but things went down hill from there. We waited more than 10 minutes for a drinks order to be taken and the service in taking our food order when someone eventually came was perfunctory.
The starter was tasty, but we sat with an empty plate for quite some time. My main was good, my partners choice of the Argentinan steak less so. It was well cooked but the dish ultimately bland and badly crying out for a chimichurri or similar sauce.
We struggled to order more drinks and then sat with empty main course plates for an age. No one asked if everything was ok. The milestone birthday was never mentioned.
I would put the service down to bad luck, however two tables adjacent to us appeared to get charming and fairly attentive service, leaving me baffled as to why we weren’t looked after in similar fashion.
My takeaway is that decent food was let down by poor service. The place was packed with tourist and seems to be a tourist trap aimed at turning tables with no regard for the personal touch. For a special birthday it was a poor choice on my part and I left feeling disappointed and extremely embarrassed.

I had dinner at Arcano last night with a colleague, while in Barcelona for work. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with old stone walls and intimate archways throughout that harken back to its original location as a stable. The food was exceptional, only to be outdone by the service. Very attentive, pleasant staff. Everything about this dining experience was perfect.
Our dinner selection included a variety of starters, (crispy bread with tomato, octopus and tartar) main entree of Argentinian entrecôte steak and dessert (truffles and cheesecake). I did not see a "prix fixe" menu listed on the website, so the offering may change daily. Either way, it was reasonably priced especially considering the quality of the food and overall experience. Both steaks were expertly cooked to medium temp and our server was kind enough to put a candle in dessert for my birthday, as well. Absolutely love this restaurant!!!!

For an expensive restaurant, surprisingly bad food. “Argentine angus steak” was stringy and had no flavor. Simple tapas were dried out. Check was for 115.50 but waiter put through 150.50. Maybe an honest mistake but ...

The setting is unique, in an old stone building. The seating is limited and reservations are in order. There were numerous courses served on the fixed-price menu, with low, mid, and upper price ranges. We opted for the fixed price menu and there was more than enough food for the two of us. Service was prompt, professional, and efficient. Outstanding menu items we sampled included the cod croquettes and pork with mushrooms. The wine list is not extensive, but with a wide range and more than adequate, pricing very fair.

Any restaurant that charges 3euro for a thimble of chimichurri really has grand pretensions. And restaurant that cooks a steak that needs chimichurri to be palatable is failing to live up to those pretensions. Couple that with a very limited beer choice, literally only 1 beer on offer, and wait staff that are only too happy to up sell but otherwise aren't interested in helping you and you have a recipe for disappointment. For what they charge this was very poor value.

My wife and I had dinner at this wonderful restaurant last night , which was recommended to us by a family friend who had been in Barcelona recently. What a fabulous place for a meal . The decor ,ambiance , service and food is excellent. To start we shared the octopus ,cuttlefish and squid ink croquettes with burnt black garlic and the warm duck salad with 3 mustard dressing .Both were superb , and very generous size portions . We both had cod with spinach and garlic , and spinach sauce for main . Again beautifully cooked and tasty . The restaurant is excellent value for money , and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the city . Also a big shout out to the staff who were absolutely excellent ,especially Dani who served us most of the evening . He has a fantastic rapport with the customers, very friendly and chatty . We are heading off on a cruise shortly, but on our return we will be back , in fact we’ve already booked a table . Something we very rarely do ,as we like to try different venues when we’re travelling. Many thanks again Dani for such a lovely evening , and we’ll see you soon .

My steak was raw instead of medium rare and when asked the waitress insisted it was medium rare. No offer to fix it. Or apologize that somehow my expectations weren’t met. The meat was purple. Also no way that it was a sirloin given how much fat was in it. Never asked if we wanted another round of drinks. Croquettes tasted burned and had no discernible seafood flavor. Ravioli were fine but nothing special. Waitress had no idea what the ingredients in the dishes were when we asked. My husband’s cod was fine, not great. Not the worst meal we had in Spain, just close to it.

Such a cosy and romantic place! Secluded location on the streets of EL Born. We asked the waiter for recommendations and they were spot on! We had casserole of locally farmed sausage and mushrooms as a starter to share - deliciousness and great portion for two. We also tried their tomato bread and it’s the BEST tomato bread I have ever had in Spain, wow. As a main course cod with spinach purée and Iberian pork with peanut sauce and smoked sweet potatoes, both amazing dishes. Portion size is generous too.
We booked a table via the Fork app.
Great service, amazing quality and taste of the food, we were so happy, highly recommended.

My family members and I have very discerning palettes. We also appreciate the effort that goes into service and ambiance. We had passed by Arcano and it was a unanimous vote to eat there on the last night of our vacation. We managed to score a 10 pm reservation -so late for us! But we persevered to stay awake and were rewarded with our best meal in Barcelona. The tuna tartar was fantastic, the crackling bread with tomato also. The salmon dish was perfect and had the added jewel of wild herb foam that demanded a photo shoot. The dish not to be missed is the Iberian pork. It was delicious, we all agreed the best bite of pork we had ever enjoyed. Just delicious. Our server Marcelo was charming and attentive, The space was intimate, light and shadow playing off of ancient stone walls. This will be a place to which we will return again and again, and indeed may be one of the reasons we will return again and again to Barcelona.

Four of us enjoyed our last mean in Barcelona here courtesy of the recommendation from our tour guide, Jose. It was fantastic. One member of our party is a vegetarian. She loved her meal here. Two of the meat eaters equally loved their meals, including a fabulous steak. I had a fabulous grilled chicken, which sounds boring but they made it delicious. We ate such wonderful cheese on our trip through Spain but I think the prettiest and tastiest cheese board was here, which is saying something. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It is beautifully historic. I would highly recommend a meal here while you are in Barcelona. And if you live there, well, lucky you!
