Pokey rooms (most face a busy road), no garden, pool or terrace. Don't know why it is a 4 star hotel....rooms have been recently renovated. Close to metro and local cafes. There are better 4* hotels around for the money.

Mercure Barcelona Condor is a lovely hotel situated between two stations (San Gervasi & Muntaner ) and both of them are a 2 min walk from the hotel..San Gervasi station is just two stops away from Catalonia square & all the main attractions (La Rambla,El Corte Ingles,..etc). It's in a quiet & cozy neighborhood with lots of cafes & restaurants around. The hotel is super clean with very nice rooms & the front desk/ concierge is beyond helpful. You'll definitely love it.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We booked a double privilege terrace room. Despite asking for a high floor, our room was situated on the third. The room itself was shabby; dirty walls, scratched and dirty shower tray, and a grubby linoleum floor. The bathroom was also surrounded by half-frosted glass walls, so privacy is non-existent. The room is a reasonable size, but the terrace is a small triangle of outside space overlooking a busy road with no outside seating, essentially making it pointless. The housekeeping was also poor. Complimentary water and coffee were never replaced. There were no ironing facilities in the room, and when we asked for an iron and board we received only an iron with exposed wires, making it unsafe to use.
The hotel itself is conveniently located between two metro stations. The area around it is also pleasant with plenty of great cafes, patisseries and restaurants within walking distance.
This hotel has potential, but it needs a facelift and a major staff shake-up (who appear highly disinterested in providing good service)
As gold Accor members we expected more from our stay. In its current state, we'd recommend avoiding this hotel.

My husband and I spent three nights here in April and we were totally happy with our experience. The front desk staff were helpful with directions and tips and hints for dining and shopping near the hotel. We were always greeted with a smile no matter how busy they were. Our room was on the third floor street side - nice and bright and no problem with street noise. Breakfast was very good and all stations were kept stocked. There are great restaurants near - a subway at the nearby plaza. We took a cab to and from the airport...very reasonable price. Would definitely stay at the Mercure again......the modern green chair in the room is so comfortable!

Positives: Staff were helpful, breakfast was fine, pleasant lobby
Negatives: Decor/fittings needs a bit of love, toilet so close to the wall that you have to sit side saddle (which was bizarre as the bathroom was vast!), tiny pokey desk, ironing board didn't work (and when you use the one place it will fit you find that you block the light out, so you have to iron in the dark), no bar, about 30 minutes walk to Las Ramblas/attractions, no views and some sound from the underground.

The hotel gave me a good impression. It is modern, clean and follows the art of simpleness. Simple furniture (most likely Ikea), straight lines, wooden finish.
Very cozy bed.
Breakfast selection is not very diverse but the scrambled eggs, the meats, fresh juices and the sweets are tasty. The jamon is particularly excellent. They have a jamon shop downstairs, you should pay a visit.
The entire hotel is Nespresso powered: in the reception, at breakfast and in the room. Coffee quality is guaranteed.
The location is not quite downtown but is very accessible due to excellent public transportation. The area is well connected by TMB (metro or bus) and the cost is quite low. (we paid for a 24 hrs tourist ticket on all routes 14 EUR - Hello Barcelona!).

Nice modern hotel, room was a okay size and bed was very comfortable. There was a lot of street noise as my room was to the front of the hotel, mainly traffic as the road outside was busy. Breakfast was nice and a good choice.
The reception was very bare, it would have been nice to have a lounge area to relax after walking around all day.
i would use this hotel again.

The beds in this hotel are unbelievably comfortable! I slept so well both nights. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent; so many options to choose from, and the breakfast room itself is very cool and chic. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from Avenida Diagonal in a very local area with lots of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here in March just recently and all I can say is that the hospitality received was warming, very welcoming and really good. The guys at reception Pablo & Elena were really good to us. They explained how to get everywhere, what to do etc. Really polite staff 😊
Rooms were nice, comfortable. Breakfast was good, continental so catered for everyone.
The hotel is near the metro and it's quite easy to get around.
I only came for a three day break and would definitely stay here again!!

Promise: when booking the hotel I was “told”/“promised” that as a Gold member my room would be upgraded to a superior room with a nice city view.
Reality: “Superior” room turned out to be minuscule - so smaller than tiny - with a view over the wall of another building 🙈
Then I asked to give me another room and was given a “cage” on a 2nd floor - saying that was the only available option… having checked the rooms on upper floors - turned out those were not occupied… but a standard response from the reception - we are fully booked. Floors are dirty and not checked…
Why a 2* Ibis Styles can deliver an outstanding service and a 4* Mercure cannot deliver even what it should???
No wonder the hotel has only 4.2 rating… should be 1.2 in reality.
The hotel manager - Maria - completely ignorant - so good luck asking her for help.
The reception desk supervisor - Mimi - was so arrogant to the point of disgust of speaking to her and the reception team member - Antonio - was also very rude.
When checking out I was asked to pay for the champagne that I have paid when booking the room - made me looked embarrassed in front of friend…
THIS HOTEL AND THE TEAM - MOST IMPORTANTLY - IS BEYOND BAD!

Dear Mr. Gaydarov, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Barcelona Condor. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We attempted to provide you with a variety of options to ensure a better stay with us. My colleagues on the front desk and I informed you that you were given an upgrade to room 601, which has VIP amenities (bathrobe, slippers, VIP welcome, etc.) which also has a balcony with views. As indicated later, that day the hotel was fully booked and we did not have a junior suite or a room with a terrace available for you to change, if by any chance we had one we could have given that room without hesitation. We showed you two standard rooms, 212, an interior double room, and room 303, which has two beds and with views of the street. In the end, you made the decision to stay in room 212. Later that noon, you went to the front desk asking for Maria (General Manager), who unfortunately at the time she was on a teleconference and couldn’t assist you. However you came into the office twice, in both occasions we explained the reason why we couldn’t give you another room because they were already occupied by other guests and you tried to verify it yourself by knocking the door. We tried our best and gave you our best options, offered you two rooms in hopes that one of them would be of your liking, and we also offered you the option to cancel your reservation without any fees and our help to look for another Accor hotel; all these options were refused. We strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Sincerely,

Managua, Nicaragua243 contributions77 helpful votesPlease need to know: if there is a grocery store/supermarket close to the hotel and a tapas bar near the hotel that you can recommend or late entertainment Thank you.
When you come out of the hotel, cross the street and turn right. 100m further you will find a night and day shop where you can fin ALL you want.
If you go 200m further, you will arrive at a square where you will find the subway station and 5 restaurants. Be careful, when I was there ( March), they closed at 10pm.

1. Taking AEROBUS (5.9€ VAT included/pp) from any terminal airport, will arrive to "Plaça Catalunya" and then crossing back the square, take any line (L6, S1, S2) from FGC(Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya - directly to "Muntaner" station. Therefore, just walk for 3 minutes arriving to the hotel.
2. From the Terminal 2 you should take train (Renfe), get off in "Sants" station and change to line 5 Metro (blue) until "Diagonal" station and change again to Ferrocarrils (L6, S1, S2) and get off in "Muntaner" station.
Then, walking around 3 minutes by Via Augusta will arrive to the hotel.
Remember: Metro and train lines, work until midnight. Other option, from Sants station you can take a taxi to the hotel (around 10€ approx.).
Traveling from the airport station, buy a T-10 card (10 travel – 10.30€) is valid to travel in all metro and train system.
