Detailed Reviews
We stopped here for a couple of nights on our way up to Lake Superior. The staff / owner was very helpful and friendly, as were the seasonal residents that were around us. All made us feel very welcome even though we were just passing through. Washrooms were closed due to Covid restrictions which is fine for most travelers with trailers. As said in the other reviews, the nightly sites are quite small and lack privacy. This was a bit challenging for us since we have a smaller trailer and tend to do most cooking and hanging out outside. The lake is very pretty and the water clean. Great spot for cooling off. Easy access to Sudbury and Highway 17. Great place for a break and friendly people.

We often camp at provincial parks as we like hiking, biking and other outdoorsy things, however this trip we wanted to come to Sudbury and do the tourist thing - Science North, Dynamic Earth, etc. We booked Carols Campsite & RV Park as it gave us access to water, sewer, etc.
It was a fantastic stay! The park was clean. The internet and water/ sewer had no problems. The neighbors were amazing! I mean being transient campers I don't expect any to actually engage with us, but they were all friendly and helpful. One neighbor actually gave us some firewood when the wood we had was a bit damp. How kind!
If I was going to Sudbury, I would have no hesitation to book here again.

Very accommodating at last minute. Quiet considering how close the campsites are. Facilities could use a bit of an update but were close. Full service for trailer was appreciated. Good easy access and security gates added to sense of safety.

We found yourselves at Carol’s for one night while passing thru Ontario. Sudbury itself is dismal with congestion, smoke stacks, and horribly rough streets. But Carol’s is outside all that, on Richard Lake. Steph in the office could not have been nicer. Level site. Quiet. Nice shower / bathroom.

This campground is tight and overnighters are with seasonal residents. We found it to be an ok stay but not as relaxing or enjoyable as other campgrounds. The campground host was friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Carol's Campsite for three nights: two on our outbound trip, and one on our return journey. On our first stay, we had a back-in site right next to the camp washroom; it was a little bit tight, with our small trailer (23' long), but it worked out okay. When we called for reservations on the return trip, and we mentioned that we had stayed there earlier, we got a much warmer response than when we called for reservations on the way out; presumably that was because we were in their computer system as a known quantity?
Although this campground is very popular with seasonal campers (due to its lakeside location), we had no problem with rowdy or noisy neighbours. Security was also good; there is an electronic gate at the entrance, don't forget to take your security code with you when you go out! (It's jotted down on the campground map that you receive at check-in.) Wifi was passable, we were able to log on but the speed was not always there even with basic web surfing. As with most RV campgrounds, particularly those in/near cities, there was little privacy at individual campsites; once you step out of your RV, you can see the whole campground and they can see you.
The washroom and showers were basic but clean; I always try to shower in the afternoon, when it isn't very busy, so I had no problems with hot water. On the return trip, I had to shower in the evening and so I hit the "getting ready for bed" rush of kids getting washed, so I had to wait. There was still lots of hot water when I had my turn.
On our return trip, we asked for a pull-through as we didn't want to unhook the trailer for just one night. They obliged us by giving us a site that was back-to-back with another, currently unoccupied site and advised us to drive through the vacant site and leave it clear as much as possible so that they could accommodate another small unit, if necessary. This is a solution I haven't come across before, and we were very grateful for it, as hooking and unhooking the trailer (even a 5th wheel like ours) can be annoying and time consuming.

The campground is located near four-corners in Sudbury. The location is convenient if you want to do some shopping or go out to eat. It's a 5 minute drive to town. The campground is located on a lake. There is a little park for kids. I didn't see much of a beach, but we were only there for a night. The washrooms are clean. The sites are electrical with water and sewer. There is a wi-fi as well. It worked. The site has a fire pit and picnic table.
There isn't much privacy between the sites. It does feel cramped, IMO, but we were there for one night...no biggie. I did read reviews by other guests saying there was a lot of noise and people smoking marijuana cigarettes. I experienced no such thing. It seemed like most of the people there were labourers working in the area and older folks.
If you are looking for a wilderness experience, I don't think this would be the place for your. A provincial park would suit your tastes more. However, if you are looking for a campsite near town, I would recommend staying here.

Convenient campground. Lots of seasonal rv folks. Not the cleanest place in the world. On a lake, a little noisy at night (especially the tenters smoking the "holy oregano" big time!). Price is fair for full hook-up. Good WiFi.

This is a very nice park while passing through Sudbury. The park is well kept. We did have a problem with an open electrical ground at our site, but the owner sent their repair person to the site right away. They did move us to another site while he repaired the site. They have a nice beach at the lake.
