Amityville, New York
Property: Didn't see much of it, other than the lobby, the room, and the garage. I stayed as a guest with an owner. The construction of the new convention center is still going on across the street, but we were not interrupted by noise at all. The room which was across a courtyard was a decent size for 2 people and the murphy bed was a nice touch over a pull out couch, and had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink and a full set of dishes, glassware, utensils...Updating to a Keruig would be nice as well as providing more creamer and sugar...for the coffee. The bathroom was on the small side and not as modern/updated as some of the photos but everything worked so that was a plus. The room had a portable AC which we did not have to use. We did turn on the heater which did not do much, but thankfully we only needed the little output it gave. We were able to find food easily nearby and plenty of shopping along the way to Pike's Market. I enjoyed the walk. Returning to the hotel from the market there is a 1 block steep incline. It was manageable, but do keep that in mind it you have ambulatory difficulties or health concerns. The walk to and from the garage can also be a challenge. Parking for Worldmark guests is on the lower levels and we had to climb 3 flights of stairs back to street level again, that can be a challenge for some.

I know how timeshares work and so do most people who own them. There is almost always an invitation to hear a presentation...BUT why disguise it as something everyone knows it is not going to be. She was told they wanted to tell her about a new app and how to use it but it was really a selling presentation. That is more of a turn off than the presentation itself. Many will attend for the gift anyway so call it what it is.

Overall: 4 points for location, staff, and overall experience Room: 3.5 - could use some updating

I would consider staying again on my own, or again as a guest of a timeshare owner. BUT the facility is not necessarily a good introduction to Worldmark - it did not make me want to consider buying into the timeshare.

I've been to a lot of Worldmark resorts and this location leaves a lot to be desired. First it is located downtown Seattle and has no parking...unless you want to pay $20.00 per night. Second in order to drop off your luggage you have to wait, or drive around the block several times to find one of about 6 spots at the curb in front of the entrance. There is no valet parking. You either park a block away in an outside lot, or underneath the building, two floors down with no elevator or stairs. Third, there is a major convention center construction going on right across the street from the entrance. It is a block or more long and about ten stories tall. The resort did supply a joke package of ear plugs on your pillow. The rooms are not air conditioned and do not have central heat. The only heat is a small electric wall heater that doesn't do much. The rooms are smaller than most Worldmark's. There is a small kitchenette that includes a microwave, toaster, and a mini fridge.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We had a 1 bedroom with a Murphy bed. Furniture seemed oddly placed, but it made sense once you pulled out the Murphy bed. Staff was very friendly. Had a swamp cooler which was hugely appreciated as it was really hot.

The location was convenient to many things, just not any good restaurants. I won't lie...the walk back from pike's is at a bit of a incline. Wear good walking shoes.. Heard sirens every night. We were fortunate to only hear construction the morning we left. But they give you ear plugs. It didn't matter too much to me though since I didn't sleep well that last night. I heard the hangers in the closet hit each other, but when I opened the closet, there was nothing. I don't know if the room was haunted, but I can tell you I slept with the light on for the first time in over 30 years. Dont't judge me. Lol

So the 1 star ding is for the pitch. I was told I needed to go get owner updates, but it just turned out to be a sales presentation. Totally uncool. After repeating I had no intention to buy, I did end up having a pleasant convo with Micah and Sasha. They were very nice, not high pressure sellers at all.

Not a bad place to stay aside from the haunted room.

The Worldmark Camlin studio was a good size unit. The room layout was fine, and the Murphy bed was comfortable. Since it was a hotel studio, I missed the range top/oven and dishwasher that I am used to at the Worldmark Resorts. The plus was the full-size mirror. The cons were: 1) No vanity in the bathroom, so there was no place to store your toiletries.; 2) As is the case for all Worldmark properties, units are dim, not light, and airy. It would be incredibly beneficial to at least put lighting over the full-size mirror.

Customer service was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. I’m pleased that I did not encounter any pushy timeshare people or timeshare staff with attitudes. I would definitely stay at the Camlin again.

Even though the Camlin is across the street from the Convention Center, which is nearing completion, I found the location perfect for walking to Pike Place, downtown, and the monorail to get to the Seattle Needle. We did not need a car, and Uber was sufficient.

There are plenty of outstanding restaurants and cafes within walking distance. As a San Franciscan, The seafood in Seattle was the best!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with my in laws before boarded a ship to Alaska. We had a 1 bedroom with a bed that comes out of the wall and only one tiny bathroom for 4 people. There was no air conditioning and no wifi. The elevator was the worst. It was so slow and we waited no less than 10 minutes for it each time. It was not a fun stay for us.

We recently stayed at The Camlin through RCI and it was a very pleasant stay! The room was a studio with a Murphy bed and a kitchenette. It was small but met our needs fine. The place was updated with nice decor and comfortable queen sized bed. The staff was nice and the place was very well located downtown within walking distance to many tourist attractions, such as Pike Place market. I would definitely stay there again. There was construction happening across the street, but our room was on the back side of the building so it didn't bother us.

Please don’t book here!! This hotel is located across the street from a major downtown renovation! The noise is horrendous and is ongoing through the weekend from morning til midnight! My husband and I are owners in the WorldMark time share properties for over 20 years. This is by far the worst stay we have had! We are celebrating my retirement after working for 42 years and decided to do a mini vacation using our allotted points from WorldMark! Not only were we not informed of the ongoing construction when we booked, but once we arrived we asked if we could be put as far away from the constructional possible . The answer was no and we were given a room facing the construction, even though they had a huge vacancy at this hotel. We now know why! Upon our return we will be asking for a refund of our booking points. The construction is a major hotel or commercial building(s) and looks to not be finished for some time! Again... due your research when booking hotels. Especially if you have an expectation of a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Stayed at the Worldmark Camlin (Seattle) in studio courtyard room. Courtyard rooms were separated from the main hotel on the ground level. They had happy hour in the lobby at 6pm (cheese/cracker/salami/grapes with wine or soda, and also a popcorn machine). Room had a pull down Murphy bed, loveseat, chair, table for 2 and mini kitchen with sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster and blender. Plates, bowls, cups, utensils, wine opener, and knives were provided. If you have a car, it’s $35 per night for parking. The garage was a bit difficult to find having to go down the alley. You get a key fob to unlock the gate and you have to take the stairs up to the street level. It’s locked on the street side so you have to ask them to unlock it to get down to the parking lot. Best part is passing by the dog daycare between the Camlin and the garage stairs. Location in downtown was awesome - right across from convention center. Easy walk to Westlake Center, Pike Market and Seattle Center/Space Needle. We felt safe walking even at night.

Have you seen the South Park episode where they go to Aspen on a time share holiday?

This was exactly how it felt.

My parents have 65,000 points with Worldmark and booked this for us.

Upon checking in we were greeted by the concierge. When she asked how we were we said we’ve just flown for 30 hours and couldn’t wait to get to our room. After giving us a basic layout of Seattle and things to do she then pushed and pushed for us to go to one of their stupid presentations. She said we’re giving away a week holiday etc. Anyway we said we’re not interested and she said along the lines of “why wouldn’t you want a free week?”, because we’ve travelled for hours on end and we just want bed/shower etc.

anyway asked for wi-fi password to which you cannot get as a guest of the owner - they have to be with you OR you go to the stupid presentation.

If we went to ask a question then you get harassed to go to the presentation.

We finally gave in after day 3 as they said they would explain how to use my dad’s points as he’s giving them to me.

NO they tried to then harass us into buying our own. 3 “sales” people pushed and pushed.

$27,000USD for 10,000 points what a joke!!! Plus $3k a year in maintenance fees. Show me the ROI. There’s none. Even my dad regrets buying the points. He can’t sell them for what he paid and if you’re Australian Centrelink count it as an asset.

My husband has zero interest in my dad’s points after this whole experience.

The Camlin is an older building that has been converted to a WorldMark timeshare / hotel. The staff was very friendly and our room was actually ready for check in when we arrived at 11am. The rooms were a bit older but clean. We had a small fridge and microwave. There was also a DVD player and dvd's could be checked out at the front desk. The bed was comfortable and it was a good night's stay for us. You could walk to Pike Market about 15 minutes away. Good location. Would definitely recommend.
